From the kitchen to the bar, everything we serve is defined by a passion for exploring unique flavor combinations. Wood is more than a name: our wood-fired oven is at the heart of it all, mustering a dynamic menu of small-plate, American fare, made with the best ingredients the season has to offer. Though the dishes regularly change, they are defined by a few constants: meat is butchered in-house from humanely-raised animals; vegetables are drawn from local family farms; and all pasta and sausage are freshly made, straight from the Wood kitchen to the plate.

Great food. Terrible wine by the glass, Goofy desserts, Great service, terrible coffees.
Can't understand what the meal is so good and the coffee and desserts so awful.
BUT - the small and large plates were just delicious. Dink ahead of time, and skip dessert.

This is the second time we have been to Woods. Once for dinner, once for brunch. First the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful from the minute you walk in the door. The menu is varied and interesting, but most importantly delicious. Great cocktails. very fun relaxing place. They honor reservation with no problem, and everyone in the restaurant seem to be having fun

Amazing meal all around. Every dish was better than the last. 10/10 dining experience.

Service needs some work. It's almost pointless to make a reservation, you still have to wait 20+ minutes. Servers/bartenders have too much attitude.

Unfortunately this low rating is based on two of the three dishes we tried. The first dish, the beef tartare, was amazing! I could eat that every day and be happy. The next two not so much. The scallops were bland, and tasted like they had sat out for an hour before serving. We also had the tagliatelle, which we sent back the first time because it was freezing, like it had literally been pulled from a fridge. The second try for it was much warmer, but then the pasta was severely undercooked.

The ambiance was great. Our server was very nice. He had good wine recommendations. But we can't justify going back because the food was just not up to par.

The service was just fair and the entrees were not hot when they came to the table.

great food and ambiance but some of the customer service wavers. we were told one thing about corkage fee ($20) and then charged $25 without an apology. some mix up in our order but nothing enough to prevent a return visit.

This place always comes through for an excellent night. Offering the most unique cocktails (try "the root of the problem") and the best, most well-balanced food in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area, you can't go wrong with Wood. They have a seasonal menu but if you get the chance, try the cassoulet! Excellent service and an inviting atmosphere.
