From the kitchen to the bar, everything we serve is defined by a passion for exploring unique flavor combinations. Wood is more than a name: our wood-fired oven is at the heart of it all, mustering a dynamic menu of small-plate, American fare, made with the best ingredients the season has to offer. Though the dishes regularly change, they are defined by a few constants: meat is butchered in-house from humanely-raised animals; vegetables are drawn from local family farms; and all pasta and sausage are freshly made, straight from the Wood kitchen to the plate.

Wood Ratings and Reviews
Very small brunch menu. Asked if they were able to make a vinegarette for the salad and it came out with olive oil and pepper. Other than that it was just plain lettuce, no cheese, nuts, fruits, or croutons. Seemed to only be one waiter so service was quite slow, it was also drafty and chilly.
I will not return.
Wood surprised me. We had an excellent brunch there. The corned beef hash and perfectly prepared sunny side up egg, with the roast pork (with egg), were terrific. Good bloodies, including options with tequila! This is a younger boystown vibe, which can be a little loud, but we has beens had a great time and a very good meal.
Heard great things about this restaurant. The service was less than stellar with the server coming up and asking after water was delivered to our table what we wanted for dessert because he didn’t realize he had not taken our food order yet. The charcuterie plate was phenomenal but the duck was undercooked and the chicken was overcooked. The wait for entrées was every bit of 45 minutes which was entirely too long. The ambience was great other than the fact that the bar booths for seating were very worn
We really like coming to this neighborhood restaurant however This evening we felt our waiter was doing us a favor by waiting on us. Kevin couldn’t have been less engaged or interested in serving us and it showed. Food was good as was the ambience-service nonexistent.
I made a reservation, and my friend ended up running late by 20 minutes without keeping me informed, so I felt awkward. However, the host did a good job of making sure I still felt welcome and was very gracious and hospitable with me. When we seated, our server was good about making recommendations with a wide range (which helped us believe that he was not trying to just upsell the top dollar menu items). One of the items that was left at our table was something that my friend didn't order, and the server came back with a very humorous and slick way of apologizing and keeping it light saying, "You didn't like my more pushy recommendation of just sending the food to the table?" I think he did well to read that we would appreciate his remark. All of the drinks and food we had were great. We loved the recommendations. Sometimes I get antsy with bougie places like this because I think I'm spending money on decor and pretentious menu items. However, I believe that when I want to spend more and/or do something more special while dining out, Wood is here to ensure that the amount paid for the meal equals the return we get in taste and experience. The is certainly a place I'd go to on a date.
We were a party of 4 - All Food industry professionals. We were completely blown away with the thoughtfulness and quality of execution throughout the meal. We were there through a random series of events. A complete accident and a profound delight. Highly recommended.
Wood's menu is great for sharing! Between the four of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers) we shared 2 of Wood's "small plates" (charcuterie & scallops) and 2 "large plates" (duck breast & wild boar tagliatelle) which proved to be more than enough for all, and everyone was delighted. We will definitely be back!
We had a really nice dinner at Wood. The service was pleasant, the food was good, and I very much appreciated that they were able to make a simple substitution for me to create a vegetarian-friendly pasta. $15 glass of wine seemed a bit much, but other than that, I would recommend!
I found this place accidentally, being I'm an out of towner. Later, my local buddy said it was the only decent place to eat in Boys' Town. I was greeted like an old friend by the Host, and was given a quiet table, which I had both requested and appreciated. Small drawbacks; a really drunk and noisy couple at the bar (what can you do? It's Friday night!) and the main course wasn't really that good. The Waiter very sincerely asked why I didn't tell him earlier so he could have brought me something different. Very thoughtful, and really a nice place overall, enough to make me come back another night. See my next review two days later. Kudos to the Host and the Waiter!
We've come to Wood three times over the course of their existence in Boystown and every time something just doesn't go right leaving us wondering why we tried again. This last time was the end all and we know we won't be returning. First, let's start with the food, it was okay..pork was dry in the carnitas, the burger was bland and boring, and our cocktails were just not good (according to our waiter the drinks would be boozy and not sweet rather they were insanely sweet and just not that good). Being the type of people we don't like to complain so we ate the food and drank the drinks and just brushed off everything else. The one thing I couldn't let go though was our waiter's passive-aggressive tone and comments he made towards the table and that's why I'm writing this review. When a guest asks to have a taste of something you should politely oblige them and not snap back with a passive aggressive comment mixed with a rather rude tone. We had friends visiting from out of town who were just blown away at the sub-par level of customer service. Thank's Wood- know we REALLY know there won't be a fourth trip.
