About Wolfgang's Steakhouse - Tribeca
With 4 decades of experience, Wolfgang Zwiener didn't duplicate an exceptional steakhouse, he improved on it to make Wolfgang's Steakhouse exceptional. The porterhouse steak for one, two, four or more, is an outstanding choice. The atmosphere, expanded menu & professional service will appeal to even the most exacting diners. Wolfgang's is pleased to add this location in the heart of downtown TriBeCa.

Wolfgang's Steakhouse - Tribeca Ratings and Reviews
Wolfgang's is on a par with Peter Lugar without having to schlepp to Brooklyn. In fact Wolfgang himself worked there as a waiter for 25 years and when his son graduated from business school he set his old man up in his own place. The rest is history. The porterhouse for two will knock your socks off. Could feed four normal eaters but if you are a steak hound like me, three people might just barely finish it. It's the best in New York if not the entire country. You'd have to go to Argentina to get a better steak then this. The sides are no surprise but creamed spinach, baked potato, onion rings, are all great, all excessive. Try the shrimp cocktail appetizer for an extra dose of high cholesterol. You know what? Don't even go here. It's tough enough to get a table in NY and every table is great at Wolfgang's TriBeCa. The Park Avenue locale is great too, what a scene, but a bit noisy where TriBeCa is not low key. The service is impeccable. Can't speak highly enough of Wolfgang's. I've been to them all and Wolfgang's is my favorite bar none.
It is the most famous steakhouse in the USA, I think it is even matter than Peter luger's. But it is kind noises for business party during last dinner in Tribeca, I think it is the same during my last dinner in Wolfgang- Times square. However, food is awesome, wine and beer are fair enough. everything is great.
Have been a loyal customer for almost 10 years...
They sat us in the front table which was right next to the door and freezing and had us sit before all our guests arrived... very strange. They then re sat us in the private room next to two other large tables which was fine but certainly a different vibe then the regular restaurant. Also the womens room was apparently digsuting and not cleaned.. the restauarant needs to learn how to manage their book better and clean their bathrooms...and also take care of loyal customers... thankfully there are plenty of other steakhouses that will happily take my business
By far and hands down, the best porterhouse in the country!!!!! I've tried Del Frisco, Porterhouse, Butcher and Singer, Chris Ruth, Morton, Sullivan and this is by far the best place to get a good steak experience. Consistently cooked to perfection. Another best is the bacon! Bar none, Wolfgang knows bacon! I really don't have anything negative to say about Wolfgang. Great service and price for premium steaks!
Awesome porterhouse steak! But very expensive. Did not take starters. Ordered porterhouse steak for 3 with 3 sides and then desserts. With a bottle of wine our bill came to $430 which we thought was somewhat exhorbitant. Good job steak is so good or we'd have felt ripped off.
Saying this, we would probably return as the steak is so tender and delicious.
Food as always was great, only negative part of the meal was the rush act I was given at the end of the meal, obviously they needed the table. While we were finishing our drinks, we were presented with the dessert menus which we left on the side of the table. Manager worked his way over lifted them up off the side of the table and clearly handed them to us. We ordered dessert and within two bites the check came. Other than that the meal , service and experience was once again great !
I live 2 blocks away and never go, I remembered why...getting treated like you are a bother (from waiters, NOT the welcoming hostess) isnt the greatest feeling. All the details were not where they should be...My wine was served in a sticky glass, the bread was cold (not room temp, cold!) spinach was way too salty couldnt eat it. I could be ok with a non creative menu, if they executed the steak perfectly but that didnt happen either. Totally cool to spend that kinda money on a great steak, but next time I will go to American cut, even the palm blows them away. Im sorry guys you gotta step up your game.
My husband and I wanted to try this restaurant for a while. We both love good food and enjoy fine dining experience. This, however, did not impress. The food was decent, but we expected a lot more from a restaurant of this caliber. I don't mind paying more money for something special, but this, definitely, was not... I had ordered the Chilean Sea bass, and it was very mediocre. My husband and two more people in our party had ordered steaks, and were not very impressed either. The creamed spinach, however, was very good. I don't think we are coming back :(
