Wolfgang's Steakhouse - Tribeca Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant was great. I ordered rib eye steak and it was really great. I would like to back to this restaurant. Chef cooked exactly what I wanted to eat.
If there is a menu for smaller portion ( smaller portion of
rib eye which I ordered) such as women portion, it will be great.
Had the petite filet with green peppercorn sauce. Came with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The broccoli as not overcooked which was nice but was so salty I couldn't eat much of it. There was no pepper grinder or offer of freshly ground pepper by the waiter, just the lousy finely ground stuff in a pepper shaker. Presentation was not particularly attractive.
The tomato and mozzerella appetizer, while beautifully presented, had absolutely no taste. I ordered the rib eye steak medium and it came out burnt to a crisp. I ended up bringing home the steak for my dog. Very disappointing experience. There are plenty of steak houses in NYC that can cook a steak medium. Would never go back.
Friday Night was our first time at Wolfgang's Steakhouse-Tribeca and it was a great night , the steak for two was unbelievable and the mash and German potatoes a good compliment......the onion in the German potato was a little strong for my taste though.
Don't get the Canadian Bacon for the appetizer....it's pure grease
Pros - beautiful restaurant , amazing steak and wine list, the wait staff very excellent and very attentive
Cons - tables for two are VERY close together
Second time be there. Last time is on weekend and has a very quiet and elegant atmosphere. This time is weekday afterwork. Full house and very noise enviroment. But, both time the steaks are good, can maintain same quality. So, pick your own day for different occasion with diff. atmosphere! Two thumbs up !
Second visit to Wolfgang's did not disappoint. Everything was wonderful, from service to food. Quality of beef was excellent, and cooked as ordered! Portions were huge (as well as the prices), which left no room for dessert. Would definitely return, or try one of the other locations in midtown.
The food was very good and the hostess was outstanding and nice, we had a group of 12 and she was very helpful. The wait staff seemed very annoyed with us the whole dinner and was very short with all of us. When one person asked if they could order their appetizer before the waiter took the order he simply said no, and walked away. The person needed to leave early and just wanted a jump on their food. After dining at places like Benjamin's Steak house where they would almost do ANYTHING for their customers, this was shocking. So for just the waiter service I would give it a poor.
This was quite a dissapointment. Beautiful restaurant, but the food was below par, no passion in the cooking here. I travel a lot for business and usually eat at Mortons, Shula´s, Ruth Chris when in NYC and thought i would try something new. Wolfgangs was a real dissapointment. Everything from dry bread, rock solid butter, potato with 0 trimmings, steak that was part medium like ordered and half charred, some kind of brown gravy that resembled pepper sauce. Hands down my worst dining experience in this price category. I am not returning
I went to Wolfgang’s for a birthday dinner with my wife. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the food and found the service to be a bit surly. Having eaten at the restaurant before, in a business setting, I was hoping for a great meal with my wife.
The waiter had a hard time getting our drink order down, and delivered the wrong drink to my wife. When we asked for the correct drink, it was twenty minutes later before the waiter came back to inquire what the drink order was at that point my wife was concerned that she would not get her correct drink, and she chose not to even tempt the fates by ordering a drink for the third time.
The sides and steak were good, not great. We ordered our steak rare, and it was served closer to med
They weren't very attentive at first and our waiter bordered on testy, but quickly caught himself when we pushed back. It was our anniversary and we did mention to both reservations and wait staff. We didn't expect anything special, maybe a candle which wasn't offered. We did get best wishes........what can I say.
The food was good but not the best steakhouse in a city with lots of competition!!!!
Great place! The best steak in town! This place sets its self apart not only for the steak being great and service it's also The waitstaff they always say hello and remember me when ever I go eat there. Alot of places in the city the waiters and or managers treat you like its your first time there, they never remember who you are or just pretend to. This place is definitely a Gem! P.S. If you are going there for some wine with your dinner ask for Steve or Misho these guys always recommend the best wines with great prices.
Actually dissappointing. I love the one on 33rd but didn't really like anything about this location or the wait staff from the start. Sat at an empty bar for almost 7 minutes before the bartender even acknowledged us and when he did he still took his sweet time. Not a way too start. The ambiance is totally lacking and has a very inexpensive decor. Cesar salsad was good and although my B.F. liked the porter house I did not and I am a steak junkie. The servers seemed as if it was an effort and were not friendly at all. Overall not a place I would return to or ever recommend.
The Steak was excellent....but definitely not the best I ever had.The asparagus a little raw.
The lobster cocktail was prepared without love.
All in all the prices were cheaper than expected, but more expensive then the online menu showed.Very noisy at the bar.The service appears a little unprofessional arrogant. But maybe they want to appear that way.All in all....I will come back
