Wolfgang's Steakhouse - Tribeca
my family has been coming to Wolfgangs for years! the service is phenomenal! def recommend! request Dino as your server. his amazing!
It was amazing like always
Wolfgang's had become one of our favorite steak spots in the city in recent weeks. We've visited other locations but the one in Tribeca is our preferred location. We were very disappointed on our last visit (Friday 8:30 reservation) to the Tribeca location with our service and food presentation. My husband and I usually purchase a Ribeye to share. We are careful to express our intent to share and are given two share plates. In the past it has always been sliced before arriving at the table. On this visit the steak arrived unsliced, two pieces of meat and on two separate plates. Not a big deal if not coupled with poor wait service. The steak was presented in an unsatisfactory way. Often presentation is everything. It ruined our date night.
Stop sending me emails for the 20th time. You have the wrong address
We spent a wonderful evening at Wolfgang's entertaining friends from Ireland. We wanted to take them to a traditional New York steakhouse and it was memorable! Thanks so much!
This was my favorite steakhouse in nyc. Which is why you put up with the mediocre service. That all changed last night.
The 2 waiters were all over us as soon as we got there to take our order. I know from previous experience that they rush you, so we order appetizers and told them to come back for our dinner order. As soon as appetizers were gone here they come for dinner order. I reluctantly ordered. 2 filets. One med rare and one medium. Then like Houdini the waiters disappeared. Sat there without a drink for 17 minutes. When our steaks came out is the next time I saw the waiter and was able to get another drink.
Now for the steaks.
Mine came out and had a yellow marker on it which is coded rare. My wife's red which is for medium. A good veterinarian could have had the steaks up and walking within no time. We both had to send them back. 9 minutes later they come back. Mine was cooked to my liking, my wife's was almost like a hockey puck. She refused to eat it and didn't want another one. There are so many steak places in and around nyc I will be trying a new one soon.
I normally get a porter house for 2 at this place which as amazing, but the filet shouldn't be as terrible as it was.
To Wolfgang's credit they did remove my wife's steak from the bill and also offered us desert
Love this location.
As always, Wolfgang's does not disappoint. The food is delicious and consistently so. This time we actually opted for burgers instead of a full steak dinner (Burgers can only be ordered on the bar side of the restaurant in the evening, which is fine.) The burgers were so delicious. We had bacon Cheddar burgers with their amazing bacon, so good. Service is always spot on as well. You always leave totally satisfied with your meal. Great wine choices as well. A+
The porterhouse steak for 3 was one of the best meat dishes I’ve ever had. And the service was excellent. I’m coming again!
Service was excellent.
Wonderful as always
Das war das beste Fleisch was ich je gegessen habe.
Best steak in NYC. Always good service. No reason to go to another steakhouse.
Christmas Eve Family Dinner
This place is just fabulous. Just as good as Luger’s but not a ridiculous wait. Service was absolutely outstanding, food was perfect and the vibe was right. 5 stars for me!
Steaks cooked perfectly but not very tasty
I didn’t like it at all it was very crowded inside and very expensive. Not good value for money at all
Large open yet crowded main dining hall.
Had a great experience here. My only complaint was that it was a little bit loud (understandable given the time of year).
Had a wonderful time. Everything was delicious. We loved the fresh tomato juice on our bloody mary’s. The restaurant never dissapoints.
The food was absolutely amazing, but the service was terrible. I was treating my boyfriend to a nice meal with my seasonal bonus when the waiter judged us based off our income level and was recommending that we go with the cheaper wine options when we were willing to go on the pricier end. He didn't offer to refill our glasses when we were done with our drinks. It was clear that he was giving customers who appeared to be more affluent more attention and better service. Based off my receipt, his name was Izet C. Everyone else that we interacted with was very pleasant, but he was not.
Met my good friend for dinner. He had said he wanted to go a good steakhouse and had a great experience at Wolfgang’s. I don’t think it was the tribeca location, but I was adamant to try it. Sat down and had a cocktail before appetizers, which was really nice with the given company, but within that time two different servers gave a very similar by the book intro.
There was a tomahawk special that night so we disregarded our ribeye that we wanted and went with it.
So we also order two sides of onion rings and steak fries. The 50/50 was the first type of two fires on the menu but we asked if we could have one of the other options (onion rings).
End of the day I had the best parts of the tomahawk, but the company with me had lol fat so we ended up ordering another Ribeye for two.
Probably not worth the 150pp, could get the same steak with better atmosphere somewhere else.
To this diner, Wolfgang's is the best steakhouse in New York -- including Peter Luger. The service is professional and the food is luscious. Plus, of the half dozen Wolfgang's restaurants in NYC, to my taste the Tribeca branch is the best.
I've been several times and while I like the food, I really like the location and the energy of this location. The steaks are good, probably not the best in NYC, but also priced on the reasonable side. The service is pretty standard NYC steakhouse, knowledgable and to the point. I find this location to be very consistent and i've never been over the top wow'd and its never disappointed. We've had the porterhouse for two, the bacon app (a must, off the charts) and most of the sides. Steak has always been served perfect and its not over seasoned. Portions are large, like you'd expect. This location has a cool bar area and they make some nice creative drinks. Even when the bar was jam packed the bartenders were friendly. I'd say this is my overall go to place.
Big fan of the LA location - unfortunately not to be matched here in NYC. 30 minutes late on the reservation and extremely slow and poor service. Shame!
Everything was great, one of my favorite steak houses.
The bacon is one of the best Ive ever had
Porter house for 2 was perfect
Creamed spinach best I ever had
Wolfgang potatoes were amazing.
Consistently delicious, steaks are well-aged and worth every penny! Love this location as well, service is outstanding. Dino's the best!
Have been several times and had great experiences. Very disappointed in most recent dinner here as service was extremely lacking. After being served our drinks, wait staff never checked in with us again other than to serve entrees. At one point, the waiter took away our finished drinks (before steaks came out) and as he did so, we asked if we could have another round. Completely ignored us and never asked us again throughout the meal if we wanted another round of drinks. Never in my life have I ever been discouraged from getting a 2nd drink in a restaurant (nevermind a steakhouse of this caliber). Experience left a bad taste in my mouth and will not be returning. There are too many great steakhouses in NYC to put up with service this poor.
The service was awful - They dropped ou bottle of wine and never came back. The potatoes were burned. The bar was mediocre Never again
Always top quality steaks, appetizers, service and wine list
Enjoyed celebrating my Son’s birthday!
Outstanding food and service. Gracious host (Albert), great waiter (Dino). It doesn't get better or classier!
Awesome place for a big steak/big bacon/big wine gathering with friends. Excellent service.
The porterhouse for 3 was without question the best steak I have ever had. No joke. No hyperbole. My wife, my cousin and I all like it medium well. Frequently this leads to tasty but tough. We are all in our 60’s and it’s too late to change our taste buds. This steak was perfectedly cooked for us, minimally pink and yet so tender, juicy and flavorful, it was shocking and wonderful. Can’t wait to return!!!!
Very nice ambience. Food was great. Salmon was perfectly moist & tender. My husband’s steak was cooked exactly to his liking (medium well) Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I’m glad I chose this restaurant to surprise my husband for his birthday.
Terrible experience. Hair in butter, no plates with starter, multiple servers that required to be called over so no idea who was ours. And the worst part of all was that the rib eye was at first over cooked (wanted medium rare and no pink in sight), sent back after asking the waiter what he thought and agreed, then brought back with extremely rare (blue). Love my steak and frequent good steak houses often (3rd time for wolf gangs) and astounded when steak is all they do and still can’t get it right. They did take my steak of the bill so credit to them for that from the manager, however before that our waiter (who I guess Became ours after telling us initially he’d find our waiter) gave no apologies for the steak or the other stuff. Don’t usually review but pretty disappointed in what I though was a high end restaurant. Happy to pay for great seevice and food, this was not
Good food but nothing special in the service department (no birthday freebie).
