Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill by Wolfgang Zwiener
My husband and I love going to Wolfgang’s in NYC.
Unfortunately the one in Somerville was disappointing. We had made a last minute reservation for 9:00 PM however they kept us waiting for almost 30 additional minutes.
The food was delicious but the service was really disappointing. We had to flag waitstaff down for water. Ordered a second cocktail and it never came.
Subpar service. I will never go back again.
Perfect dinner. Better than Wolfgang’s nyc. Porterhouse, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, onion rings, lobster tail, oysters Rockefeller, salads, pecan pie were perfecrion
Great service. Fabulous steak. A bit pricey but worth every dollar.
Great experience!! Had the bone in Ribeye, and it was really good, no complaints!!
Great food and service!!
We go often and enjoy Wolfgangs. However, we have had the same waiter the last 2 visits and he appears disinterested. I have had to ask what the daily specials are ( twice), he never came to the table to offer fresh cracked pepper for our salads, and water glasses were never refilled. Other waiters have been enthusiastic and check back often.
All of the food (apps, steak and dessert) was very good. However the service was lacking. Perhaps it was because it was New Years Eve and they packed in what seemed like more tables. Not sure but if that was my only experience there, I would not go again.
The food was good although my dish came out pretty cold. The service was lacking compared to other times that we have been there.
Great to have NYC level dining in central NJ. Look forward to returning to Wolfgang’s in the near future.
Great food and great experience
Went for our anniversary based on good reviews. The place looks nice, but for the money, the food was average and very greasy (I got fish and potatoes and felt queasy until the next morning). Service wasn't specifically bad, but again for the money I was expecting more attention.
The steak as always was excellent. However the service was lacking and the manager spent the entire time talking to the hostess rather then checking on his patrons. At the prices charged I expect much much more.
Nice ambience. Comfortable lighting. Great service but everything changed after appetizer. Waited 40+ minutes for main course. Everyone apologetic for delay. Food cooked perfectly. Overall very nice evening. Pricey but still worth it.
My family and I were there for my wife's birthday, we were a table of 5. The restaurant was packed and the noise level was prohibitive to have a conversation, we had to shout at each other. The surrounding tables were also filled with large parties with one table in particular had a very dramatic person who took the attention of the entire wait staff as well as the Manager. As a result, our table was overlooked and we were left sitting a lot of the time. On a positive side, the food is outstanding here, from the steaks to the sides and dessert the food was wonderful. When you spend over one hundred dollars per person to dine at a restaurant, I expect to have a wonderful experience. I have eaten at Wolfgang restaurants in New York City and each time had a good experience. This particular location seems to struggle.
Best steak ever .
Excellent food and wines
Nice and Fun restaurant.
I would not call the noise level energetic. The noise of conversation is energetic, but when you play your music so loud to hush the crowd’s energy, you have created too much noise. Otherwise, outstanding.
Christmas lunch with the girls ❤️
Excellent food and service, steak well prepared and delicious. Worth the money.
Just doesn't get better than this ! SUPERB in every respect. Perfect steaks, perfect wine and perfect service.... the trifecta of the culinary experience.
Food was very good, service was attentive but slow Perhaps because we were seated in an area near a very large party. Noise level was very high Difficult to have a conversation because of this group. Seating them in a different area would have made this a better experience. But food quality was very good and I would return and give it another try.
Open Table notes valet parking but there was none to be seen.
Service was very good. Food was good but pricey.
I have been here many times. Wolfgang’s always delivers NY quality steak. I have yet to have a bad meal here. Porthouse, German potatoes, creamed spinach, bacon, and strudel. Can’t go wrong!
My wife and I love this place. The food and service are always excellent. The people who work at Wolfgang’s are as kind as can be.
Hubbys birthday was fabulous, thank you!
Me and my Husband were given a gift card for our wedding to go to Wolfgang so we figured we would make the 45 minutes trip and try it out for our anniversary. I am a big steak person so any opportunity to enjoy a good dry aged steak I am there! Unfortunately, our visit didn't go as well as we thought it would. The place was very nice and the food wasn't bad either but the service was terrible. For what we were paying for our meal we expected better service. When we arrived it was 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. Our waiter barley paid any attention to our table instead he spent most of his time with the large group tables near us. On multiple occasions we had to try to find a passing waiter to try to order dessert and get our check. We wouldn't make the long 45 minutes drive to Wolfgang's steakhouse again.
I love this place, best steaks outside of NY and then when in NY go to other Wolfgang locations.
We had a wonderful dinner with friends. Delicious steaks and sides. Lovely atmosphere. We will go back for sure.
Food was really good but we had to wait almost an hour between appetizers and main course. They were obviously busy, but waiting a full hour for a medium-rare steak didn’t make any sense.
Received the wrong steaks. As they tried to correct this (quickly), they completely ruined the steak that came out next. We had steamed asperagus as a side which were tasteless. Also mushrooms as a side which was more onions than mushrooms. This was actually the second time we visited this establishment and both times ended up being very disappointing. We will not go back here anymore. We do like the Wolfgang in NYC.
Came here for my son’s birthday. The porterhouse steaks and NY sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were very creamy. The sautéed broccoli, mushrooms and lobster mac and cheese were all excellent. The service was impeccable.
Superior quality steak, appetizers, and sides. Truly the best steakhouse in NJ.
Food, service and front staff exceptional!
Waited 1 hour 15 minutes for mediocre food (they weren’t that crowded). Not sure where our waiter went during the night bc we only saw him twice. Usually this restaurant is ok...yesterday abysmal, to say the least! Think we’re done with this place!!
Great choice for our four person family ... we got what we wanted with a full Thanksgiving meal that truly tasted homemade.
Was excited to go to this restaurant for thanksgiving but was very disappointed. Service started off fine but quickly went downhill. They got my daughter's soup wrong and by the time her's came out we had already finished our appetizers. I ordered filet mignon medium. The appetizers came out quickly but the main meal took over 1 hour and the restaurant wasn't even that crowded. My filet mignon came out looking over cooked but when I cut into it is was blood red and cold to the touch. It took awhile for our waiter to come back to correct the meal. They took the steak and brought it back within 2 min and needless to say it was still too rare. Another waiter came over and said he would give us one that was cooking, while my family was eating their thanksgiving dinner without me! The third steak came out and this too was very rare. The waiter started arguing with me that this was"steakhouse medium". Which it was definitely not. It was blood red and cold.. Our waiter then returned and I voiced my displeasure with the meal. He stated " the steak is comped". He then i asked for a manager who was pleasant wanting to give me something to eat, this steak also was cooked like the others. Needless to say I will never go back to this location. Very disappointed!
Thanksgiving. The normal menu items were excellent. The turkey dinner was disappointing. The turkey did not have much taste and the meat was cut in thick chunks. It was the weirdest cut for turkey I’ve ever experienced. You could only have sweet potatoes with the turkey. They should offer regular mashed potato or sweet potato option.
We have been to Wolfgang’s several times and have not been disappointed. The service is good and the food is better. My son and I had the porterhouse which was perfectly cooked while my wife had the petite filet. Our side were asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was all very simple and extremely satisfying. No frills or fancy sauces were necessary just the natural flavors of the meat and veg.
Food was superior. Wonderful steaks cooked to perfection. Appetizers especially the tuna tartare was incredible.
