Wolfgang's Steak House - Times Square Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated wedding anniversary. Mentioned this to hostess as well as person seating us. Both said the waiter would be advised. Not a mention, nor dessert from the waiter. Bit disappointed. I didn't mention this to my wife as I didn't want her feeling bad. Food was great, as it always is.
We were able to get a table for 5 on a Saturday with last minute reservations! This was a special occasion for us as we were just visiting NYC for the nigh to see a show. I really appreciated how efficient and friendly the staff were. The food was great, but dry aged beef is hard to beat anyways. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had two teens in the party with us and the staff treated them with the same respect as the adults at the table. We thought the restaurant's atmosphere was fun and the decor was nice. It was a little loud, but it did add to the excitement of the night.
I took my boyfriend there for his birthday- pre- theater. I made a 5:30 res. So that we could dine and not feel like we had to rush to the theater. We didn’t have to rush, yet I felt the meal was a little rushed. We were finished and Out by 6:30pm- I guess if we were a larger group and had more apps, desert, etc., it would have taken a little longer, but I felt they kept coming over to see if we were finished.
We’re not new to Wolfgang’s and have been to many of the “New York Steakhouses”, so we are aware of what to expect. Unfortunately, this visit was below our expectations. The Maitre d’ was rude (contrary to steakhouse law, this is not endearing); had to ask for a wine/cocktail list after we were asked what we were drinking; the Roquefort dressing looked like dishwater; the strip side of our medium rare porterhouse was chewy and everything was way over-salted.
Nit picky? Not for over $100 per person (without dessert), sorry.
Great NYC Steakhouse! Reasonably priced for lunch considering the quality of food! Tried the Cajun Ribeye nice crust on the outside with perfect Medium rare on the inside! Cream spinach was very delicious. This is the place that’s full of business men at lunch time so make a reservation or go late!
It was my boy friend’s 50 years and old birthday. When I was reserved on open table, I made a note that “it is his birthday so please make special for the dessert”. But even we ordered cake, there is no message and we just had regular cake. I was really disappointed.Maybe I should tell the staff in person but we arrived restaurant together so I wanted make his surprise and I thought they may read my message on open table.I spend more than $200 for this dinner and I was disappointed...I this They didn’t pay attention my message from open table.
I received a gift card for Christmas and we had theater tickets around the corner so we made reservations to eat here. The cocktails were not made with the correct ingredients and we had to send them back. We ordered a $90 bottle of wine which the waiter did not pour properly and spilled all over the table. We were at the restaurant for and hour before our food came. We said we had a curtain to catch and the waiter shrugged. The service was terrible. The waiter must have worked at a diner before he came here. This is a tourist trap with outrageously expensive food and wine and we will never go there again. We do not recommend it and were grossly disappointed. The food was only decent and certainly not worth the price.
Given how high priced the food and especially steaks are it was a very moderate to poor taste. The baked potato was undercooked. The steak was med-rare and done well, but the taste was moderate. nothing to write home about. The home-BBQ-sauce tasted like a cocktail sauce for shrimp and not like a bbc sauce. The noise level was VERY high, so it was difficult to have a conversation for a table of 5x, so that everyone could participate.
