Wolfgang's Steak House - Times Square
Our bread was so cold , so it was little depressed but steak was so delicious
We had five people. Our dinner was 500 hundred without tip. For that kind of money you expect great food and great service. Great food, yes...service, we did not get that here. We were seated immediately however, once we sat, it took at least five minutes for a waiter to come. Then once we ordered drinks, another 10-15 to get them and that is how everything went the entire night. They had to take two items off our bill because we had finished our meal before they even came out. I will say the food was delicious but for the money, it should be and so should the service. Also, I will say, this money was three kids and two adults and only two alcoholic beverages were ordered. Cool sunken atmosphere right next to all the theaters so that is nice.
It was a lovely dinner with an attentive staff. Food was delicious.
Yes I'd recommend it, to those looking for a steakhouse. I felt like I was in Smith & Wollensky circa 1980. What it does, it does well. But I was BORED with this excellently prepared food. I dine out for interesting, new tastes I don't cook at home. My dinner companion said her filet was a perfect piece of meat, and my salmon was tasty and slightly undercooked just as I asked for it. The burrata and tomato salad we shared was just fine. My overall response is a big yawn. My bad, the convenience of the location next to a Times building where we were heading for an event was the draw. My companion said this may be her new favorite steak house. I think I'm done with steak houses, can cook that and salmon very well at home.
This was a business dinner but the tables were too close to each table and crowded with much noise for talking. The service and food was really good.
Good steak. Expensive, but good.
NY steakhouses really need an overhaul. Very tired formula. Massively overpriced.
Server was very unkind so l couldn't eat comfortably.
Food was absolutely delicious, service was outstanding. The rib eye was like butter and all other food was superb. There were many birthdays going on at that time so there was a good buzz in the place. The only thing that was not a 5 it was very expensive mainly the drinks they were extremely pricey. Would definitely return and would definitely recommend.
Food was very good. Steak, lobster mac & cheese, and brussels sprouts were all Delicious. There are better steak houses with nicer ambience in New York City but this was a good night out.
Food was great. Service was average
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed much!
We came in for New Year’s Eve and left early. We were seated next to the waiter stand and kept being bumped into. The servers were loud and standing around joking in the corner while we were trying to enjoy a nice quiet conversation over dinner. We had a salad and then left to go elsewhere for dinner.
Steaks were not prepared as ordered. Side dishes (vegetables) lacked seasoning. Wait staff did not come back to check on the table in a timely manner to address any issues.
Despite a half empty dining room, we were seated in an empty lobby facing the kitchen with spiky plants scratching our backs. After requesting to be reseated, the hostess said it wasn’t possible! A nice waiter accommodated us. The hostess stand is in need of hospitality training and professionalism.
We went there because it was close to our show venue and we needed to get in and out quickly. The staff understood our needs brought everything timely and of course food was awesome
Food was good. The staff was ok
Food was good, but the service needs to be improved
First trip to the Big Apple. Made reservation 2 months in advance. First dining experience in the city. Made reservations at Wolfgang’s hoping to kick it off on the right foot. Arrived and table was ready right away. Perfect till the point where the waiter took my order. I ordered the filet and I ordered it “ warm pink center” not rare, not medium rare. In my experience restaurants Interpret both very different. When steak arrived it had a very cold center. Very cold center. Waiter with a heavy attitude took plate and returned with “ not as cool center “. I returned steak and experience went quickly south from there. My dinner was a baked potato. I thought I was being very clear about about expectations. Guess I was wrong! I will never return!
Great food, disappointing service
A guest and I went to Wolfgang’s for lunch during the holiday season. I am a Wolfgang’s regular having eaten at more than one of their locations. My first time at the Time’s Square.
The food as usual was outstanding. My friend ordered a petit filet she was happy with. I had a veal cut that was huge and delicious. We are fans of the German’s potatoes and again we were not disappointed in the food at all.
The same can not be said of the service. We were we seated near a waiter’S station so we had no reason to suspect that our server would not bother with us despite the location. It was 10 minutes before a drink order was requested. Our meal was brought to us by a food runner, and even he was surprised to see he needed to bring steak knives to us. No bread was offered or served. At no time during the meal were we asked if we needed anything. Once we were done, we were asked if “that was it?” Our dirty plates were not cleared and not asked if we were interested in dessert. When we were talked to it was from the servers station, looking at the computer and never actually coming to our table. I wanted t o be specific here to show that the slight was not imagined.
The couple next to us were visited at least four separate times, with dessert menus offered after their plates were cleared. There was lengthy conversation at least at one visit. It’s made our experience Three feet away all the more startling. The attention to the next table over made our experience confounding, disappointing, aggravating. Yet Alen clearly didn’t see the difference in experience, or more likely didn’t care! It made for a disappointing lunch!
I write to invite the management to address how shamefully our service was and address why I would ever come back to your location.
To be clear the food was excellent and if you have the opportunity to eat at a Wolfgang’s, you should definitely go. But I would not return to this location.
most of babychairs were broken. the satety belt can't work, my daughter sat down on me.
but foods were awsome.
My husband and I visited New York for the Holidays. We knew we wanted to go out for an aged steak while in the city and we found Wolfgang’s by accident. We happened to be staying at a hotel just around the corner.
We ordered the porterhouse for two, as recommended by our server. We also ordered mashed potatoes, onion rings, and sautéed broccoli. We started with the soup of the day and a wedge salad.
The salad came out without dressing, and when I asked for it they brought out the more expensive one. (I didn’t ask for it but it was $4 more making for and $18 started salad) My husband said the soup was great.
When the steak came out they brought out the broccoli, mashed potatoes, and another potato dish... not the onion rings we ordered. They were quick to fix this though.
I feel that for $200 meal the the service could have been a little better.
All and all it was an excellent meal. The porterhouse was the best steak I have ever eaten. The sides were also amazing. My husband and I will definitely be back when we are in New York again.
We are from Virginia and I have been on business before and always found Wolfgang’s to be exceptional but my husband had never been until last night. He said his filet was the best he had ever eaten. He is an excellent cook himself and a true food critic but he was blown away by the filet. My sea bass was delicious. Overall experience was perfect. Our waiters were professional and friendly. Yes it’s a bit noisy but it’s New York! Part of the experience.
Service was rushed. The waiter never finished listening to me order before trying to move to the next person. Drink order cake out wrong, twice. Meat was undercooked. Sides were bland. Dishes were not cleared in a timely fashion. Overall it’s mediocre on a good day never mind a normal one. Save your money and spend it at Ruth Chris or Del Friscos.
good, will definitely go again
Perfect Christmas Eve dinner with the Family. Service was perfect and so was the food. 100% would recommend.
Kind staffs, awesome foods.
We wanted to see the menu of drinks, but they didn't have.
They might have it, but didn't show it to us.
Everything was good.
Best steak ever!
We were seated on time and given bread & menu. Several times we asked to order. 30 min. passed and finally a waiter took our order. We had a show to attend at 7. By the time we got the food we hardly had time to eat. Couldn't have coffee or dessert. We asked for the bill right away. We had 2 hours from the check in till the show. We certainly had enough time but not. We live in the city and see alot of shows and restaurants near the shows. Wolfgang's was on the same block as our show.
We got there for a 430 reservation ( seated at 420) did not get our food until 530 - which we wolfed down bc we had a 6pm show ...... feel like I flushed away $175 .
Best steak I have ever eaten. Staff very nice & accommodating. Loved everything and will be back.
If all you care about is steak this could be the place for you. The sides, bread and even crab cakes are sorely lacking...... but the prime sirloin and thick cut bacon outstanding.
Service was a bit slow some ppl next to us were complaining about it. It didn’t bother me much since I enjoy taking my time. Steak was great but potato was not cooked evenly some were hard some were just right
Awesome, excellent food.
We Ordered porter house Steak
It was delicious and good but ordinary people don't enjoy food like this.
Terrific. A reliable steak place, with broader menu. Always rock solid.
Must make a reservation and if you are going to theatre get there early!
