Food was excellent! The ambience was fair...needs background music and dimmer lighting.
Very great restaurant! They made our anniversary special!
As we entered Wolfgang’s Restaurant Wine Bistro we were greeted and our temperatures were taken. They were a little slow on getting us our two bottle of beers. The dining area had plexiglass partitions. We celebrated my birthday and were treated kindly. The food was yummy. We will be back.
My mother and I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. The hostess and chef were beyond rude to us. We had a late reservation and clearly were an inconvenience to them. They should not take 7:45 reservations if they can’t provide a meal. We never received any food that was ordered. The whole experience was uncalled for....I’m upset the most because we were celebrating my mother’s birthday and drove 6 hours to be here. We are guests of Old Edward Inn and their customer service is a much better representation of the Highlands than this place! Four65 saved the evening with amazing staff and pizza!!!!
The food was good but like the atmosphere, it could use some updating. We were pulled in by the name like most first-timers to the area. While we enjoyed our meal we felt that it was expensive for the overall experience and vs. other options in town. If we were to return to the area again this would not be my first choice for a nice meal but it certainly wouldn't be my last. In summary, the restaurant feels dated and the menu could use a bit of modern flair as well.
The food and service was excellent
Food and service were great
Chef Wolfgang Green never disappoints! His unique German background and experience as Executive Chef for the Brennan Family of Commander’s Palace in New Orleans makes for an amazing culinary flair. If you are planning for a large group ask for the round table in the wine room to enjoy an even more unique experience.
Our favorite restaurant on the trip. We ordered appetizers, soup and entrees and it was all amazing. The filet was one of the best we’ve had and we go to lots of upscale steakhouses. Our waiter was attentive and helpful and accommodated our needs. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic but also good for groups! I also felt like the prices were reasonable. We will be back!
It was awesome food and a great value. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The frozen Peanut Butter Pie is highly recommended!
It was our 5 year Wedding Anniversary and they seated us in front of the fireplace. Very romantic. They gave us a sparkler with dessert. We felt like royalty! Briony did a fantastic job!
The short ribs are amazing!
Great find on the main street in Highlands. Food, service, drinks all fantastic. Pricey, but welcome to Highlands. Will come back.
One of the most COVID safe places we have been to. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was perfect on New Years Eve. Great time and extremely safe.
Relaxing dinner with the fam while on vacation. This place never disappoints.
We always love eating here
Everyone we spoke to in Highlands said that Wolfgang's was their favorite restaurant and we now know why. The hostess seated us immediately next to a fireplace and the waitress was outstanding. We loved our food and total experience. My granddaughter left her purse and they called and left a message on my phone. The next morning the owner/manager met us at the restaurant and graciously returned the much needed purse. We love Wolfgang's and plan to return when we visit Highlands again.
Anniversary dinner while visiting Highlands from Atlanta. Ate dinner at three nice and highly rated restaurants while while there. Clearly Wolfgang’s was the best of the three! Won’t mention the others, but you can likely determine that from the top rated locations in Opentable, etc. Simply put, excellent experience overall...service, food, atmosphere, etc. As for specific dishes...lamb is awesome, Wiener schnitzel even better, and trout is off the chart! Wolfgang himself stopped by our table to chat and is a very pleasant man. Do yourself a favor and dine here. Will likely be you best meal in Highlands.
Atmosphere was cozy; Food and Service were outstanding!
Recommend Crab cake appetizer!
I have had the pleasure of eating at Wolfgangs many times before so it was the place I picked to bring my closest girlfriends to experience and it did not disappoint. Haley waited on us and not only was she excellent but hilarious too. I hate that NC started the shut down thing again for restaurants this past weekend, your heart hurts for restaurants you love like Wolfgangs. Will always recommend this restaurant to friends and family!
Great food, great service. We always eat here when in town.
Fantastic. Felt very safe with COVID, food was phenomenal, and service was great.
Thanksgiving meal was excellent as was the service.
Delicious and excellent service! (Shrimp and crab cakes were wonderful!)
Anniversary
Great food. Great service. Always on the list when visiting Highlands.
The atmosphere was really nice. The portions were good. They do charge though to split a meal.
Excellent meal and service! We will definitely be back! One of the best meals we have ever had!
Cozy spot but both the service and food was below average unfortunately.
Excellent service. Multiple dining areas. Great ambiance.
We celebrated our 29th anniversary at your restaurant. It was absolutely perfect.
Took my fiance there for her birthday and it was a wonderful meal. She had the pecan crusted shrimp for appetizer and I the breaded and fried brie. The main course was fantastic, she had the lamb and I the bravarian sampler. Food is cooked to perfection, wine list is extensive. Liquor drinks and beer are also available. Will be back
Five of us had dinner at Wolfgang's for a birthday celebration. From the appetizers - the brie, lobster and crab bisque - to all five of our meals, the food was outstanding. Several of us are pepper fans and as the soup was served, we looked around table noticing no salt and pepper. Well it was easy to understand why that was a clear sign of a true amazing Chef - the soup flavor was an explosion of taste - no enhancement required! The meals were excellent - mountain trout, the filet, the beef stroganoff and the veal scallopini with crawfish - we all said we'd re-order the same they were so delicious. Our server, Kevin, was attentive and delightful. One of the other staff gladly volunteered to take pictures after the restaurant surprised our birthday lady with chocolate cake served with a festive sparkler. All in all - a fantastic dining experience.
We went to Wolfgang’s in Friday 7 November 2020. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and Wolfgang. I had the smoked salmon and my husband had the escargot to start followed by the special haddock and Wiener schnitzel and we both had apple strudel to finish. Everything was delicious. Our server was informative and very pleasant. The atmosphere was good and I highly recommend this restaurant
Love the food, service and ambiance. Loved the BBQ shrimp and apple streusal!
Great service and food!! Wolfgang is very accommodating and talented chef!
We had the best dinner. The crabcake was delicious. The service and atmosphere was the best. We will definitely go again!
Server very knowledgeable and informative. Very good experience.
A bit disappointed based on previous reviews. We were visiting the area from Naples, FL for our anniversary and really looked forward to a special evening. Service was outstanding, but the food was average. One of our friends had the special Beef Stroganoff and was disappointed. My husband’s steak was good and his cheese grits were REALLY good. Two of us had trout which was good. We wanted to love it, but just liked it.
One of our favorite restaurants. Halloween was busy but as always the food was great. Perhaps because it was Halloween the service was not up to it’s usual standards.
