Wolfgang Puck's Spago offers panoramic ocean views from the bar and restaurant serving California cuisine with Pacific Rim influences and local Hawaiian flavors. The Mobil Four Star restaurant opened at the Four Seasons Resort Maui in 2001, teaming America’s greatest chef with the world’s finest hotel group. The Asian-inspired, contemporary designed room is sophisticated, yet relaxed, with carefully selected furnishings that provide both family comfort and romantic evenings both indoors or on the exterior lanai. All of this creates the perfect stage for Chef Cameron Lewark’s brilliant menu, using Hawaii’s premier produce, fish and meats, with the styling that made Spago famous. Utilizing only the finest ingredients available from the Hawaiian Islands, the menu presents a fusion of Hawaiian and California cuisine, embracing the tradition of the Islands culinary techniques. This inspired menu offers Wolfgang Puck's classics as well as many locally inspired dishes.

our 3rd time at this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. a tad expensive but very good. service is superb as is the food. I ordered a Hong Kong preparation of a fish that wasn't even on the menu; but they made it anyhow. a wonderful place with great service.

We have dined at Spago many times and had wonderful meals, however, the smoke that wafted into the restaurant from Brazilian Night at Duo below, ruined the evening. The food was delicious, Andy catered to our every need, but we would NEVER go back on a Friday night because of the smokey haze from Duo.

We were really looking forward to a great dinner but left disappointed. The service was not what one expects at a Wolfgang Puck resteraunt in a four seasons. It's almost they were doing us a favor in serving us. Menu items were sold out at 730pm, courses were delivered incorrectly and at different times and frankly it felt more like a casual dinning experience.

The food was meh... The tomato soup was very good but the rest of the dishes were nothing memorable and some even below average. We had the Szechuan fish and its flavour was sold as spicy but tasted like a sauce out of a bottle. The big eye tuna was more of an appetizer size and again nothing to write home about.

All in all it would have been ok for a fast casual restaurant but was not up to the Spago name.

We love to come to Spago whenever we visit Maui. This time we had Jeb as our server and he was fantastic. The entire evening exceeded all of our expectations, from our seats, to the food, to the wine, to the service it was all top notch. Jeb anticipated our every need, and made sure that our food came out at the perfect pace. The food itself was exceptional. Both my husband and I got the fish dishes, my opakapaka was done Hong Kong style and his monchong was done Szechuan. Each fish was cooked to absolute perfection and the preparation styles will be something that we look forward to repeating in the near future. All we can say is WOW and thank you so much Jeb and Spago! You set the bar high!

Wolfgang Puck's Spago on Maui seems to have fallen into the trap of putting money first and customers last. Servers were extremely unattentive, ambiance was loud, although many tables were empty. My husband and I had a reservation at 6:15, once seated we ordered appetizers and main dishes and wine, about 10 min later. We got the wine, bread service and water and lived on that for an hour, at which point we let the waiter know that if we didn't get served by 7:30pm we would leave. Excuses were given - "a large group had just ordered before us" (they can't handled that on a ~50% filled restaurant??), the observation that the table of 6 people next to us, seated ~15min after us but served first, was commented on with "but they just got their appetizers". Well, by 7:22pm food showed up - but not the appetizers, just the main dish. At that point we had enough, the evening was spoiled, we called the manager, who was very apologetic, but completely unable to explain why nobody watches the tables and service. My husband asked for the bill, but we didn't have to pay; we promptly left the restaurant, leaving the food untouched. Prior to that I had noticed that a server dropped an entire dish at the feet of one of customers of the larger group (~14 people) - after much wiping, sweeping etc, a new dish was produced, and the manager was seen standing at another table in a very apologetic stance, which I re-recognized when he assumed the same at our table.

So, in summary, not worth the visit, customers are of no importance in that restaurant, and management is unable of rectifying that.

I have a vacation home near the restaurant and my family and I dine at Spago around 12 times a year. The overall quality is inconsistent. Sometimes the food and service are ok, and other times both the menu, the quality of the food, and the attentiveness of the service all disappoint. With this visit we had to ask for things multiple times from multiple people - drinks, a high chair, even the bill. The server seemed to have too many large tables. My mahi mahi was terribly salty and I hardly ate it. I regrettably tipped the server 20% notwithstanding my disappointment. Definitely not worth the $110 we spent per person for a party of 5 adults and 3 children

GREAT *. Five stars out of five. Super busy, but still an exacting attention to detail by chef Ryan and his entire team. Always the highlight of my Stay. Not sure why I don’t just eat here ever night instead of being let down by other establishments.

Menu online did not reflect the actual menu. Appetizers were served and eaten before our drinks arrived. The good was just ok. The kids meal was better than the adult dinner. No attention from the waitstaff. We received the incorrect bill.

What a beautiful location - the terrace tables are perfect for watching the sunset. If you’re a couple, be sure to book ahead and reserve one of the front-facing tables where both people face the ocean. Food and cocktails were delicious - to start we had the miso wallu loco moco, which melts in your mouth, followed by the seafood curry which was full of flavor, and the ahi tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes. All had superb flavors! Would definitely come back. Easy walk from Grand Wailea.

Second time at Spago's while vacationing in Maui. Even better this time! Beautiful sunset, attentive and helpful waitstaff, but most of all delicious food from starters to dessert. By far the best meal we had this trip and worth the price.

Hands down the rudest waiter we have ever had in our lives. No words. We are not snooty type people and we never give out poor ratings like this. But without question, our server was the absolute worst. He intentionally gave us zero service because we had to step away from our table for 9 minutes to bring our kids to “Kids For All Seasons” event.

I would give 10 stars if possible. We dined here several times over our recent vacation and were treated incredibly well by all the staff. The view is amazing and cannot be beat, the food is amazing and the menu changes daily. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. You cannot go wrong with any seafood and there are great meat options with Wagyu and the pork chop is fantastic. I honestly cannot say enough great things about this restaurant and the staff. Cannot wait to return. Thanks especially to Daniel and Jeb. Amazing job.

Once again, I find that restaurants carrying the names of famous chefs are over-rated. I tried the original Spago in LA and was underwhelmed. This Maui version was equally underwhelming. The food was ok, but I had to send my lamb back as it was raw! I can’t think of any chef who would send out raw lamb chops when the customer ordered medium rare. The service was impeccable and I can’t fault our server. However, for the amount charged, the food just was not up to par.

Terrible disappointment, sad when your biggest meal turns out to be a dud! First started with a soaking wet cushion that my wife sat on, the staff should have foreseen this ! Poor front entrance staff, rude! Food was mediocre. We are from Victoria B.C. and all I can say is the food on Vancouver’s west coast blows the doors off most everything experienced in Maui. Having a few days left, we will be trying our past two favourites. Ka’Ana Kitchen and the Lahaina grill.
As for Spago,I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who truly has a diverse sophisticated pallet! Go elsewhere where the end product (food) is very important. I will say we had a great waiter. I feel bad when a waiter works so hard, but the food fails him. Maui is beautiful as is the Four Seasons, I would recommend they raise the bar and keep the quality on the same level as the rest of the property’s hard working staff!!!
Aloha and happy eats!!!!
PS, when in Vancouver visit La’batoire, Miku and in Victoria OlO Brasserie L’ecole and don’t miss I’ll terrazo.
Keep it up Canada!

My husband and I returned with our 6 and 4 y/o girls and were quite impressed with the hospitality! Everyone went out of their way to be exceptionally kind; our girls kept commenting on how nice everyone was. Of all the meals we tried in Wailea, this was rated as all of our favorites! For the girls, “because everyone was so nice and the ice cream sandwich”. For us, how inviting they were to a family with young children not ordering spendy tropical drinks but staying long for after-dinner tea and cheese :). Mahalo everyone at Spago:)!

Server was not very attentive on my wine issues. They were sold out of both half and full bottles of Sancerre.
Yet the four seasons bar was serving it by the glass. Not very much assistance in selecting alternates. I expect better from spagos especially when it is located in the four seasons.

The chef was truly inspired by the islands and the local ingredients to and create one of the most unbelievable tasting menus I have ever had on top of that our waiter and the sommelier worked together to pair fantastic wines with our meal. We can't wait to go back and can't thank the chef and staff enough for such a memorable evening!
