American
Wolfgang Puck's Spago offers panoramic ocean views from the bar and restaurant serving California cuisine with Pacific Rim influences and local Hawaiian flavors. The Mobil Four Star restaurant opened at the Four Seasons Resort Maui in 2001, teaming America’s greatest chef with the world’s finest hotel group. The Asian-inspired, contemporary designed room is sophisticated, yet relaxed, with carefully selected furnishings that provide both family comfort and romantic evenings both indoors or on the exterior lanai. All of this creates the perfect stage for Chef Cameron Lewark’s brilliant menu, using Hawaii’s premier produce, fish and meats, with the styling that made Spago famous. Utilizing only the finest ingredients available from the Hawaiian Islands, the menu presents a fusion of Hawaiian and California cuisine, embracing the tradition of the Islands culinary techniques. This inspired menu offers Wolfgang Puck's classics as well as many locally inspired dishes.

Absolutely perfect! Our server David was the most attentive, engaging, and all around greatest server we have ever had. When coming to dine, ask for David - he will make your night! Well done, Spago!

So this review is very mixed so please understand where I'm coming from. 1. Spago came highly recommended during my visit. 2. Upon arriving getting a table was fine... no complaints. 3. Our waiter was clearly trained to push old world wine which was irritating, even after i told him i would like a Malbec. So, we dropped the idea of getting wine and went with cocktails. 4. The $18 resort price driven Mai Tai was middle of the road in quality. Monkeypod's Mai Tai blows it out of the water. 5. Our waiter apologized for everything under the sun and we didn't complain or comment on a single thing. It got to the point where he apologized so much it took away from the experience and beauty of the location. I noticed other waiters pulling the same annoying behavior. In short acting like a scolded dog everytime we interacted with him was disappointing. 6. Aside from the waiter the food was very good. Though the food was very good it was also pricey and dishes of equal and better quality can be found outside the resort area. My best dining experience with a well oiled staff goes to Monkeypod hands down and though you are going to Spago to pay for the experience of fine dining unfortunately you'll be disappointed. For these reasons I would not recommend Spago.

Excellent service. The food was good but not fantastic. Very expensive, so unless you just want to blow a lot of dough, there are many other great restaurants for much cheaper.

We went to Spagos for dinner at the Four Seasons our last night in Maui, and WOW I was blown away. Our server David that we had was one of the best servers I have had out to dinner, and I eat out a lot. His energy and positive attitude made my dining experience one I won’t forget. The food was amazing and David took his time explaining the different entrees and had very good suggestions off the menu. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Spagos, and make sure to get David !

The food was outstanding, we both had the wagyu. Beautiful piece of meat, we loved it. We heard before hand that the service wasn’t great. Unfortunately what we heard was true, it was not for lack of trying. Our server seemed like he had too many tables in different sections of the restaurant. Also, the there didn’t seem to be any bus boys, our server cleared every one of our plates. My guess is the staff is poorly trained or they may be understaffed or under awful management.

Just wonderful food and service! Windy around sunset but the view is incredible!!!
I would help to have the menu specify gluten free options or just use tamari sauce instead of soy sauce for the marinades and raw fish dishes - it would save the trouble without changing the taste at all
Will be back!

I made a reservation for 730. Open table had it at 8 pm. Not sure how that happened. We were seated right next to a table of 22. Very very loud. We were told to hurry with our order or we would have to wait for the big party. Couldn’t have a conversation. Menu seems like it doesn’t change very much. Wish we hadn’t gone. Won’t go back.

This is the only fine dining restaurant we’ve been to on Maui that doesn’t offer a corkage fee if you want to bring your own special bottle. The hostess was a bit standoffish about the whole deal.
We sat inside due to the high winds and they sat us at an odd table right next to the patio opening. This created a wind tunnel effect that nearly blew us out of our seats.
The appetizers and drinks were ridiculously expensive.
Tried it once-wouldn’t go back.

The food is excellent- but it felt a bit stale. I expect to be wowed by Wolfgang Puck - but instead the meal felt nostalgic-he is serving some of the same breads and meals from 25 years ago. (Recipes not literally the same food.😊)

Arriving early to get a table for two on the outside we were taken past several ideal tables and shown the worst internal table in the resataurent . On complaining we were taken to one of the tables for two on the outside we had been walked past !
When asked about wine I asked a question about the Australian Riesling . “ You mean Austrian” I was abruptly told ( by Western) -“ you know the place Arnold Schwaterzneiger comes from “. This was followed by several other abrupt “ put down” type comments . On the verge getting up and leaving another server came and I explained our problems with Western and indicated we were about to walk out . He ( Mathew) took over and the rest of the service we received for the remainder of the evening was excellent and the quality we expected and received over the last 15-20 years going to Spagos . The food was also of the usual very high standard .

My bottle of white wine came out not cold enough when I first sampled it! It was like it was just put in the fridge 1 hour before it was served!
I ordered the seafood risotto - was not hot enough - should be pipeing HOT when served ( especially @ a caliber of a restaurant like Spagos )
In addition, the value of 6oz. of Ahi Tuna for my entree was - BRUTAL !!
$47.00 for 5 pcs. Of seared ahi tuna in broth - no sides - NADA!!!
U pay for the name !!
That’s it!
Ferarros is miles ahead, better restaurant than Spagos!
Value, Food, portions, service, ambiance - ALL THE ABOVE!!!
I have a family vacation home @
Wailea Beach Villas, I go to Maui 3-4 times a year. I’m not going back,
I’m not recommending it to family & friends!

Absolutely terrible! Reserved several weeks in advance YET waited ONE HOUR TO BE SEATED. Hostess said, “ I have a perfect table being bused , just a few minutes”! When she seated us, she sat us right in front of a huge cement column! We’re in Maui at the Four Seasons mind you!
Terribly overpriced! Wolfgang is too full of himself!
Never going to a WP restaurant again. He should be embarrassed.

Spago in Maui has very tasty food in a very lovely environment. The prices at the more trendy popular restaurants in the Wailea area are slightly higher for food and beverages. This was our second time to dine there on this trip. Sadly, our server was not our favorite. The cocktails are interesting and delicious and the menu does fluctuate with its offerings.

Spagos is located in the perfect location to watch the sunset over the ocean. The food is excellent and the service is friendly and usually exceptional. On our last visit the service was a bit lacking. Appetizers made it out before drinks, our side came out after our main courses were finished. While the service was friendly it felt rushed and inadequate compared to past visits and other five star caliber restaurants.
