Wolfgang Puck Steakhouse - MGM Grand Detroit Ratings and Reviews
I had a caesar salad and the 6oz. filet with a side of brocollini. I asked to leave the chili flakes off the brocollini, which they did. The salad and brocollini was great. The filet was good and tasty, but the house zip sauce didn't appeal to me.
My wife had the seafood pasta dish which was great. She is allergic to shrimp, so she asked to delete the shrimp, which they accommodated. The pasta dish had plenty of scallops, crab and lobster - very tasty.
My husband and I have had dinner here a number of times and it has always been one of our favorites, but the last two times we have visited the food has just not been the same. I’m not sure if they now have a new chef, but the food is just not as good. The shrimp cocktail and Brussel sprouts have changed, and NOT for the better! We typically order the Waygu, but last time was not as good, so stayed away from this past visit as it is pricey- but used to be worth it! They also removed one of my favorite crab and avocado salads. Please go back to the old menu...SO much better!!!!!
Wolfgang Steakhouse is one of my favorite places to dine in the city. I frequently bring friends and family to join me for dinner and we always find the food and service to be extraordinary. I have never been disappointed as all facets of the restaurant are highly consistent. I had the French onion soup and my usual rib eye steak my friends had the Seafood linguini and we enjoyed our meals, immensely!
Waitress forgot 3 different items. Had to remind her all 3 times. The bone in rib eye was tough and over cooked. The shrimp cocktail had a weird after taste. Would been to eat at Taps or somewhere else. Simply not worth the money. Iridesence much much nicer. They did get us a table earlier than reserved but they were half empty on a Friday night
We were here for the auto show and our anniversary. We thought that eating in the hotel would be easy and convenient- we were wrong.
Firstly the place wreaked from smoke from the casino.
The dinner came and my streak was horribly under cooked. My wife’s lobster never came. So she waited for mine to come and all the sides were cold as was her steak by the time mine came.
I asked for a manager and was told he was around- for 20 minutes I waited!
When all was said and done he offered me dessert. Seriously?
I wish I through $250 in the slots I would have felt better Than I did after dinner
Oh and I had a Puck gift card that didn’t work
Second and last bad experience in a Wolfgang Puck Restaurant
The cigarette smoke from the casino filtered into the restaurant, and the smell was overwhelming! I was the only person in my party, and I alerted my waitress that I was in a bit of a rush because I had a ticket to see the comedy show at 7:00pm. I'm not sure if she was new, but she wasn't very attentive, and when I asked for my bill I watched as she waiting on several other tables before going to ring up my bill. By the time she brought it to me it was well after 7:00pm. I ordered a crab cake, loaded baked potato, and Brussels sprouts for dinner. The Brussels sprouts were good, but everything else was mediocre at best. I can't, in good consciousness, recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.
There was no place we would rather enjoy our last meal of 2017 than at this restaurant! They had a special New Years Eve menu, which could not be passed up. We have dined here many times, everything is always amazing, from the food, to the ambiance, to the service. Zubir is such a friendly server, he always attends to our every need at such a fast pace, we highly recommend him as a server, and also recommend the burger or filet. We all enjoyed our perfectly prepared entrees while we reminisced over the past year, and looked forward to celebrating another occasion again very soon here at one of our favorite restaurants!
I've dined at Wolfgang Puck's Steak dozens of times and The food there is always great. Our server, Christy, was outstanding however the service is sometimes sketchy. I've found that the most consistent service is obtained by dining at the bar. The restaurant is kind of a cross between a sports bar and a fine dining establishment and can be noisy at times.
The food was delicious but our server seemed preoccupied. My husband asked for more bread and he brought me a 2nd cosmo...when I questioned why he brought it, he said my husband had asked for it. We explained that he had actually asked for more bread not another drink, and he rolled his eyes at us and spilled some of it on the table as he snatched the glass off...it took about 40 minutes and 3 requests to finally get more bread...besides that it wss a pretty good experience.
The food was very good. I had the seafood pasta dish. A bit surprised p, because the sauce was red. Use to a white sauce. It was ok. May have enjoyed Bette if it were a white sauce. My husband had a steak it was excellent.
The service was phenomenal. Our server Cindy was excellent.
Overall we had a good time.
Everything was great except for when we got there. It was our anniversary and they sat us at this small corner table that was next to the aisle way and we asked for a better table especially since it was a special occasion and they accommodated us nicely and everything from that point on was amazing.
The worse part was the seating. The restaurant was empty but the hostesses seem to be grouping people on there appearence. My table for two was literally almost an extension of the next table over and they then tried to sit another couple as close on the other side of the table of 5 . They complained and we're moved into another corner even though as I said before the restaurant was empty. I've been all over the world and have seen it enough to recognize that they were grouping patrons, the sports fans that just left the Lions NFL game, away from whoever may walk in ( and nobody did)
Overall, I loved eating here. The appetizer selection was nice (we ultimately chose the crab cake which was great) as were the steaks. Our server made recommendations (which I LOVE - if the staff cannot tell you what they do and do not like, then I worry) and they were good ones. The only thing I didn't care for was the house steak sauce - a little too close to A1 in consistency and taste. The side offerings were generous (we couldn't finish their take on élote, but it was delicious) as well. Overall, a good dinner!
We have dinned at your restaurant for a few years now for casual date night and our Anniversaries'. Today was our 15th Anniversary, the only thing we ate were our appetizers and soda's. The wedge salad was not fresh the tomatoes were mushy. My husband's steaks was burnt, he asked for it to be well done... my steak was ordered to be medium well it was just charged on the outside and tasted just like kosher salt..(still have the taste in my mouth it's been 3 hrs yuckier) ordered loaded baked potato got mashed.. then I was brought out ab barely loaded no cheese or sour cream..could not flag down our waitress for salt and pepper. What a waste of a good outfit.... and bad 15 year wedding anniversary dinner ever. WONT COME BACK
Went here with a friend from out of town, taking a break during our MGM Grand casino visit. Have been here many times over the years and it still is good quality and a nice classy atmosphere. Cocktails are decent in terms of adequate alcohol content. Did not have an appetizer on this visit. Had a small filet, which was cooked perfect and melt in your mouth tender. My friend had a rib eye steak and said that was also very good and cooked as desired. One of the sides was the glazed Brussel sprouts, which unfortunately were overcooked and dried out. But other than that, was very good meal. The server was good as well, and timing was just right, and also did not interrupt us. So overall very good again, and will return!
