Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill - LA Live Ratings and Reviews
Shockingly bad, tasteless, overpriced and completely unworthy of WPs name. Fried chicken sliders were dry, the hummus (served with canned martini olives) was horrible (and $26) and the Tortilla Soup was so spicy my wife had to run to the bathroom.
I’m sending my full review to WP’s exec offices. Management should be ashamed.
I went here before and the experience was great. Unfortunately when I went there for dinner to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, well, that was another story.
We had a reservation, they were not prepared. Ok my reservation I requested patio seating, the hostess said “no one told me about it”; it took ONE HOUR for us to finally get a service. Of course by then we requested another sever. Food was average, nothing special like the last time we were there. I believe the manager came over to talk to us because we were upset about the situation, I said “I believe “ because no one has a name tag, so go figure.
Overall, horrible service, average food, terrible experience. We could have pick any other place to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and we choose this one. They mess up her 15th birthday. ☹️☹️
We were unsure at first as the inside was noisy and we wanted to "catch up" with each other. We sat on the patio/outside deck and it was perfect. The temperature was nice. We had a fantastic wait person who was very knowledgeable about the menu and was efficient/kind/nice.
I realize that LA Live is a mad house when there are multiple events near Staples. Review is for dinner prior to a Kings game on a Saturday night.
Food - food is a mixed bag here. The sandwiches & salads are pretty good / portion sizes fair for the prices charged. The pizza my daughter had was lukewarm, Pasta I had was a very small portion size for $23.
Service - horrific. Getting my iced tea refilled required an act of God.
Value - just know you are paying "convenience" pricing at any of the restaurants at LA Live. You can be at Staples in 2 minutes, but you pay and arm and a leg for food. At least this place is more affordable than Katsuya (which is a total rip-off).
Unfortunately our server was not engaged in our table. We received our food before we got our drinks. The table next to us arrived after us and had an app drink and meal before we even ordered. One guest he forgot a drink. Then it came the wrong flavor. Waited more Another guest the cheese was left off the burger. Other than that, delicious food.
The food was good and reasonably priced. The location at L.A. Live across from the Staplws Center and the Microsoft Theatre is unbeatable. But don't expect a high gourmet experience because of the Puck name. The menu is interesting and appeals to lots of palettes. I took my 12-yr old daughter there. We were both happy.
I thoroughly enjoyed dining at Wolfgang Pucks. Service was swift and friendly . The food was flavourful . I enjoyed Calamari with pesto aolio followed by spaghetti all'amariactia. Calamari was a tad salty for my taste but the batter was light and fluffy . The spaghetti was a perfect al dente and the sauce and veggies delightful .
Next day my wife had lunch at Wolfgang Pucks and reported that the mushroom pizza was delicious .
Great fun atmosphere. The drinks are expensive but what do you expect for LA Live area. Met up before a concert and I'm glad we had reservations. The place was packed and buzzing with activity but we had a table in the middle of the action and it was great! The food took long but our waiter was great and brought a plate of fries for the table to share. It was the vibe we needed to get our concert night started right! Thank WP
I requested something for a birthday on my reservation and they did not get that note, so I had to ruin the surprise and request it at the table. Our waiter was very nice but he wasnt super attentive. I had to ask a different waiter for our waiter to bring the check, at which point he brought the check and i told him about the birthday note. After the flan was brought, he went on break and did not tell us, i found out because I overheard the waitress tell the table next to ours when she brought them their drinks after I had been waiting for the second check for 20 minutes.
The food was good but also took very long. The guests next to us, who arrived after, got their food much earlier than us. The bathrooms were terrible, no toilet seat covers and two of the non handicap bathrooms had toilets clogged with tissue. I can't imagine this would be the case on a Friday night. I was disappointed that after all that they still charged me for the birthday flan, which was delicious.
Overall, the food was good (my mushroom fettuccine was yummy, my fiance wasn't impressed with his burger, but the meat plate was excellent) and the location was great, but for my so-so experience I felt kind of ripped off. This was supposed to be a nice dinner for my fiance's birthday and I was underwhelmed.
I unfortunately wasn't impressed by this experience at all. Everything about it was pretty bland, from the server/service, the food, and the pricing. The upsell items added to our bill were a joke - $13 for 4 pieces of shrimp. It simply wasn't worth the cost. $100 for two, early dinner, no alcohol. I've had great meals at Wolfgang at other locations and was excited to treat my father to a nice dinner - this however, was not it.
