Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air
absolutely flawless. this venue is amazing, the staff is wonderful, the drink/wine/food options are wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about this venue, we will definitely return.
Puck at Bel-Air needs a recharging. It used to be fabulous, which is why I will come back and try one more time. Wolfgang himself showed up to work the room, but when he left the problems - which I have experienced several times recently - showed up. The servers like to congregate near the bar, so you often have to waive your hands wildly to get their attention. Like to ask for a refill of water. The service is unpredictable - some nights the servers stop by to see how things are going, but lately they rarely do so. Increasingly the servers forget that somethng was ordered. Same with the managers who one would expect would spend more time circulating the room (as in the past), than hanging out at the reception desk and chatting endlessly with the receptionists. The prime rib cap steak was simply awful. Most of the other dishes are presented nicely, but are bland and boring. The chefs seem to have lost the spark that was apparent in the past.
The food was only just "fine." Unfortunately, the meal itself did not live up to the reputation of the restaurant nor the prices. The experience left one expecting more from a Wolfgang Puck restaurant of this caliber. The service was also only "fine," but did not make up for the mediocrity of the meal. Possibly it was an "off night" for the restaurant, but at 5-star prices one is not afforded the luxury of having "off nights." Definitely stay at the hotel, one of the best experiences you will ever have. Definitely, pass on the restaurant and explore other dining options in Los Angeles.
It was our 35th Wedding Anniversary & we couldn’t have been more pleased to celebrate at this beautiful place. Everything was delicious and the service impeccable!
Beautiful restaurant and excellent food and service. Somewhat pricey but goes with this particular property. If you have a cocktail before dinner and wine figure 250.00 per head depending on wine selection.
Fabulous food, excellent service, and the ambiance can't be beat! Always a treat!
It was my husband's and my wedding anniversary. They had a private booth in a romantic nitch - a perfect table. It was quiet so we could have a conversation. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service was excellent. Loved the food and the wine. It was a perfect evening. This has always been one of my favorite places to go for dinner - especially on a special occasion.
Service was slow and sporadic
Dinner was only ok — Hotel BA could use a lot of improvement.
Hotel Bel Air remains the most romantic and glamorous setting in L.A. The restaurant now run by Wolfgang Puck is the perfect spot for a very special occasion. The entire staff made our anniversary dinner a huge success. Just wish the wine list had a couple of choices that were more affordable. Next time will bring our own top wine and deal w/the high corkage fee.
Beautiful location amazing food and personable people!
Incredible setting, food and service. I'd highly recommend for a date or a quiet meeting with a colleague or friend.
Just Excellent Experience all together. I will strongly recommend
The Belair remains a beautiful oasis in increasingly noisy and crowded Westside of LA. The swans are still there and the garden is elegant and quiet. Service was a bit slow but otherwise we were delighted. But it IS very expensive so only for special occasions of course.
My sturgeon/avocado on toast was excellent although I would have preferred it on thinner bread. The tortilla soup wonderful. And ditto the chocolate ganache. All perhaps a bit too rich but yummy.
The service was impeccable, while the butter steak and cocktails were absolutely delicious.
Food shocking with wilted salad. Meager fruit that was featured.
Service from the main server was excellent. But the guys clearing the tables need to relax and not grab the plate the instant you take the last morsel. Such low class. We don’t want plates cleared until the last person is finished.
This is not supposed to be QSR.
Who is watching what leaves the kitchen?
What respect are the “chefs” showing when they let brown, wilted lettuce leave the kitchen?
Wolfgang, I’ve met you many times, you are very attentive.
I’m afraid when your back is turned, the kitchen let’s you down.
The food, service & ambiance was ok but it was very pricy for lunch, there were 3 of us, no alcoholic drink, just tea, coffee & one fruit desert & 1 main food cost us $95.00. That is too expensive for lunch.
Always the best!
It’s over rated. I had reservations, the hostess proceeds to seat us at a table and another staff member comes over and tells us we cannot sit at this table, because they are saving it for someone else. So off we go to another table. I happen to notice the whole time we were at the restaurant, the first table where we were seated and then removed remained empty. The food was average at best and the fish was not fresh. There are many wonderful restaurants in L.A., this is NOT one of them.
We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. We were married at the hotel and go back frequently, as we cherish the facility. Very disappointing with the food and service.
Way too expensive for quality of food.
What made this night remarkable was the waiter - Christian! Of course, the food impressed. We will come back again and request his section! Thank you for the wonderful night and your humor Christian!
Great place for lunch! Great service and food. Not the lowest cost, but you get what you pay for type of thing.
The service was very slow and the restaurant was not busy. Food was okay, small menu and over priced.
I had four (4) disappointments:
1.0 Parking: I dropped my Bentley off at the Valet area. I was told I did not need a parking ticket. That scared me. How do I prove I left a Bentley, if it gets stolen, without proof of parking?
Upon leaving the dining area, I asked for a Parking Validation. The lady asked for my parking ticket. Now I was getting mad! I told her they did not give me one. I told her that she is scaring me. She said she will be right back.
She returned with a "Sticky Note" stamped with the " Validation".
Also, I was not informed of the parking fee. Upon retrieving my car, I had to ask what the fee was.
Constructive criticism: All vehicles should be given a parking receipt and there should be a Parking Reception Window for paying the parking fee. Then the parking tip is my responsibility.
Not having to dig thru my wallet upon my car arrival fumbling for a tip then finding out there is a fixed fee for parking plus tip!
I felt very awkward with this transaction and my lady friend watching.
2.0 Dining area reception:
Another awkward situation:
Upon arriving at the open air dining area, we walked past the " Unmarked " restaurant reception area ( by the bar).
After asking where we check in, I was pointed to the west wend of the bar that had a small " Unmarked" counter.
There were two ladies there, in black, that were milling around while I stood there for about 4 minutes, without acknowledging me. I stopped one to ask if this was the dining reception area. She then looked up and said yes, which party are you with?
That made me mad! I am not with a Party! I AND MY LADY FRIEND ARE THE ( MY ) PARTY, in my mind!!!
This $3.00 per hour receptionist received me as a $3.00 per hour employee.
Not good, for the cost of the evening!
The waiter was an assistant. The un-attentive waiter might have just towed around a yellow duck.
Assistant Waiter serves the first "Toast/Jelly" treat for two.
The Waiter brings the menus and dissap
It is the most beautiful hotel and environment, people around are well-mannered. The food was excellent and staff was very kind and I had a great time talking with our waitress. The dinner was perfect as it should be.
well if you can spend $400 for dinner with a couple of glasses of premium champagne by all means this is the coolest first date place in LA, topped off by their jazz bar for an after dinner drink— give it a try. If you are so inclined book an $800 room and make a night of it!
This place is a treat to go to - expensive but, such elegant surroundings.
We love Wolfgang Puck at the Bel-Air Hotel to celebrate special occasions. This time, however, was not acceptable service. We had a reservation for four at 6 pm (the first seating) and we were ushered to a table that was large and seated 5-6 -- too large to be intimate -- yet there were several fully open tables for 4 including booths. When I asked for a different table, the hostess offered up the table right next to the reception desk -- a terrible table -- again, all other tables for 4 were fully available. Finally, after asking again for a table worthy of a long-standing reservation, she offered us a table for 4. Let me say that she was having no problem offering prime tables to other guests so this did not sit well with us. We live in the neighborhood and I do not want to go back after being treated like that. Plus - the food did not warrant that kind of service. It was bland this time around.
Awesome service and such a beautiful restaurant. Great and healthy food and juices
The setting is absolutely beautiful, we took a moment after breakfast to walk the hotel grounds and they’re gorgeous.
The meal was excellent, with exquisite service. At the end they brought out a surprise since it was her birthday. Absolutely marvelous touch to end an amazing breakfast. Will definitely return.
Beautiful place, great menu. So many choices and I wanted to eat everything!
Love this place, great food and beautiful place for family brunch or date nights
The food was good however the service was outstanding. We were celebrating a special occasion and the staff went about and beyond to make our experience memorable.
Excellent gluten free and dairy free options. Restaurant is outstanding for special occasions. They accommodated a party of 15 beautifully.
i took my boyfriend there for dinner and looked forward to the event and the fine (i thought) dining experience. while the atmosphere was delightful and the service excellent, the food did not even reach the level of mediocre. i ordered a potato/leek soup which was tasteless. had to add lots of salt to even taste anything. ordered their special, which was dover sole (one of my very favorite dishes) and was extremely disappointed. fish was dry and rubbery. could not even finish it. took it home to the dogs. they ate it. i will never go back there again. i don't mind paying a lot of money for a good meal and i don't mind going to mcdonald's, but i don't appreciate paying a lot of money when the food rivals that of mcdonald's! very disappointing!!
Attentive service and a relaxing environment to enjoy a nice meal with friends and family.
Great restaurant - ambiance, food, service - everything was perfect! Shoutout to our serve Juan for taking care of us that night!
A singular experience - a calm, quiet, elegant oasis in the city. A bit pricey, but the value is solid.
It's a lovely setting outside. The food was good and expensive. Disconcerting to be there at prime lunch time, and it's not busy.
