Very disappointing. Service repeatedly forgot we were there. Prices were extreme for what you received. I mean, for $32 you get 3 scallops and nothing to accompany them on the plate. Lunch for 2 was over $150 for an appetizer and a main and you walk out hungry.

Multiple time returning guests. Always well received, always a treat, always accommodating. Two UCLA juniors as my guests. It's the talk of Alpha Phi.

Amazing place, Amazon food and super solid service as well. Only gripe was they charged me for 4 glasses of wine when we had only 1. That is unacceptable-

As was the hotel - this place doesn't equate the expensive to ridiculous prices with what should be THE most detailed meal and experience.
They were slow and inattentive and I would save your $s

To be fair, I take business lunches here often because of the proximity of my office. But the food is simply not good enough to be either a Wolfgang Puck establishment or a restaurant at one of the world's greatest hotels. It's not even close to the much more delicious and much more beautiful classic Polo Lounge of its sister, the Beverly Hills Hotel. The decor at the Bel Air was ruined in a revamp a few years ago. From Hollywood glamour it went Hyatt International with food to match. The price is still high, which (ironically) is not part of the equation here. Value is the essential component; beauty, impeccable service and fabulous food should be on offer at the Bel Air. And it's not.

Hotel Belair is always a nice place to get away for a special lunch or dinner. Food is good, service is delightful and the ambiance is great. The menu does not change much if you are a regular. It would be nice to have a variety of "daily specials".

The occasion was a milestone birthday. We had brunch last Sunday. The food was outstanding, very creative and of the finest quality. My main course, the halibut, was prepared to perfection and tasted heavenly. My husband commented that his Bloody Mary was the best he's ever had (he's 85 years old...). The choices for an appetizer and main course as part of the brunch were extensive. There was a choice of three desserts (wished there would have been one with chocolate... , but no complaints). The service was highly attentive, very friendly and prompt. We were seated in a lovely booth in the patio area. The creative ambience of natural components contributes much to a great feeling of relaxation. Tausend Dank, Herr Puck!

A most dismal dinner, worst service I have ever experienced. We had a wonderful table but that was only good part of our evening. It took our waiter 15-20 min to take our drink order. Then I cannot even begin to tell you how long it took him to take our dinner order. We arrived promptly for our 7:45 dinner. By 9:25 our main courses had not arrived and we spoke to waiter & manager. Miraculously our food showed up in 3 minutes. By this time we were ready to leave but decided to finish. The waiter then offered some complimentary wine, which we declined. We didn’t order dessert, we just wanted to leave. The horrible service made for a most unpleasant evening. The Bel Air is just not worth this kind of misery. Our waiter was dismissive and aloof. There were 5 of us at table, bill was $760 and I left $50 tip, and I spoke with manager to voice our displeasure. To say the least, this was our last visit. Incidentally, a table near us, with different waiter was seated almost 30 min after us, and they left before our entrees arrived.

They did not have my reservation when I arrived and wanted to seat me inside the dining room (which I had a guest in town and wanted the outdoor experience). So I declined and said we'd wait for a table to open up. It also took them about 40 minutes to bring us our meal which I found odd considering how prompt they usually are. But the food was wonderful.

As always, we had a delicious lunch with out of town friends. The hotel is still a gem and the Wolfgang Puck Restaurant is one of the best semi-outdoor spots in town. We always appreciate it when Chef Wolfgang Puck takes the time to come out of the back and personally shake hands with everyone and thank them for coming.

There was a good size wedding happening at the same time we had our dinner reservation (6:45pm) and I think it had an impact on the overall service as it was a bit slow.

I must say the waitress was a real PRO & Fantastic (I believe her name was Tara).

My biggest issues was the Alaskan King Crab Legs appetizer for $110, the menu stated 2 Legs and we got 1 so for $110 we sent it back...Tara felt bad about the situation and spoke to the manager on duty and they arranged for a complementary tortellini dish as a substitution which was very nice, unfortunately the gesture was not explained to us and the dish got served to the wrong person, (& it just so happened to be the same dish she ordered for her dinner so she let it sit in front of her for several minutes thinking everyone else dinners would be coming out soon). I finally said something and then asked Tara what was going on & that's when we found out what she had done...so now she is feeling embarrassed and arranged for birthday pastry's (wife's birthday) for the table which was not necessary but amazing & very much appreciated..

I went to culinary / restaurant management school and worked in the biz for 10 years so I know what can happen on a busy Saturday night when the restaurant is packed & I always go with the flow and never get upset over little things like this...& thought the staff did a great job "trying" to smooth things over...unfortunately not all people are like me..

I will end by saying "for me" the overall experience and dining adventure was excellent.

Thank you!
Jeff

We eat here regularly. Staff is terrific and very accommodating to special requests, menu is good and the dishes are always well-prepared. It is very expensive — we typically spend $100/person without drinks, so you don't come here for a bargain, but if you can afford it, the ambience and the experience are worth it. The wine list is extensive and very well curated.

My only food complaint is that the chocolate they use in their desserts is not a particularly good one, with kind of a waxy, cheap quality to it.

For its reputation and prices, we were very disappointed. After waiting years to try it , it was a real let down.

The food was very underwhelming in its presentation and taste. The portions were also very small and not in a "nouveau" way.
Too much salt .

The cocktails were horrible. Again,, for the reputation and prices, the bar could not get our drinks right even after we sent them back.

The service was also very mediocre. The staff was not well informd, and it took us forever to order and get the bill.

As pretty as the atmosphere is, we would never choose to return there, or recommend it.

We've been going to Hotel Bel Air for our wedding anniversary for several years now. It has a calm, serene ambiance, and the restaurant staff are superbly attentive and well-trained. The food was less exceptional this time around. The $28 tomato salad was blah, and at these prices, you expect more than an artistic presentation, you want flavor and a memorable culinary experience. I may have just made poor choices from the menu, but I'm a little less dazzled this time around. That said, for tradition's sake, I still expect to come next year.

Wolfgang Puck at Bel Air Hotel was an amazing experience. We asked to be seated at a quieter table and were moved to a nice table in the corner. Then we were brought nicely organized menu. The waiter was very helpful when we ordered and the food was delicious. After the meal we walked through the amazing hotel gardens. My only complaint would be the prices, but other than that I recommend the restaurant to anybody looking for a up-scale dining experience.

My wife and I have enjoyed many wonderful meals at the Hotel Bel Air. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was by far our worst experience there. Service was excrtistingly slow. We were served our entrees a good 30 minutes after we had finished our appetizers. At about the 25 minute mark our waiter finally came over to apologize (to his credit he comped us our dessert). I had one of the pasta dishes as an appetizer, and while it contained some wonderful flavors, the pasta itself was thick and hard. My wife's veal I would judge as "okay" but my lamb was both chewy and bland. I also thought that the wine list was overpriced. Until this last visit I could always find a nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Not so this time, as my wife and I instead opted for relatively pricey individual glasses (although again, our waiter was very generous in defining what constituted a single glass).

It will be a while (and favorable reviews from others) before we consider the Hotel Bel Air for dinner again.
