Family reunion
Great food and ambiance. Quiet so you can hear your tablemates talk.
I love brunch here! Its a but pricy but comfortable, elegant and great service!
Beautiful place to enjoy a nice lunch. Excellent service and food!
This review is strictly for the food at dinner. My husband and I are staying at Hotel Bel Air for our first wedding anniversary weekend and decided to dine at the Wolfgang puck restaurant for the first night we were here. We dined at wolfgang puck for afternoon tea, breakfast, and brunch and everything was delicious. We had dinner here on 4/6 and the food was disappointing. We started with oysters which were just ok. The cocktails are strong but the liquor they use is not top shelf (so you will get a headache from just one drink). For my main course I had lobster, $125 just for the lobster, and parts of it were burned while the lobster tail was actually raw. My husband had the loup de mer (which I almost got as well it sounded so good) and he has been sick all weekend. We are big fans of Wolfgang restaurant as we are going to Spago tonight but the dinner at hotel bel air was bad and I feel like there is no excuse when the bill is over $300 for two people just for one starter, two mains, one side, and one cocktail each. The service was great as well as ambiance but I’m quite upset about my husband being sick to his stomach on this special weekend.
Amazing food and service and room as always. Keep up the great work!
The perfect brunch spot!
A lovely retreat; don't even feel like you're in LA.
It was pouring the day we went, so we sat inside, which is not my favorite. The old dining room was twice as big, decorated with huge urns of flowers, a little more ornate. The new modern design is just meh....like every other place. But it's still the Bel Air, and the upscale atmosphere and elegant service are still the same.
Matt had the club sandwich which looked absolutely scrumptious. A real fancy version, which you would expect. I had the steak frites, which was a bit of a disappointment. They must use that system that cooks the meat in sealed bags in boiling water (su vide???). The texture of the meat was a little unappetizing, and I took most of it home for my dog. The bernaise sauce however was extraordinarily good. I even dipped my fries in it. And speaking of fries, the very best french fries I have ever had. My side was sauteed spinach, also perfection.
The appetizer may have been the highlight of the meal. 3 little soft dark tacos, with bits of tasty meat, cotila (?) white cheese, and bits of greens, with a light yummy sauce. Really good.
The dessert left a little to be desired. It was cheesecake brulee, and had the attributes of neither. What looked good was the chocolate dessert with mango on top. That's for next time.
Looking forward to coming here for breakfast, as I used to before the remodel. And happy to find out that some of the servers are still there.
I will be back again and again.
The food is always delicious and the ambiance romantic. I’ve been a fan for years. I just expect more from the food presentation. I realize everything is a la carte, but not garnishing the plate at all when serving Loup de Mer or a filet is a little sad.....
A pleasurable dining experience!
Great food, service and ambiance. Historic hotel and celebrity spotting may occur
Birthday dinner! Perfect.
Excellent restaurant to celebrate, indulge, enjoy and eat! Would highly recommend the restaurant.
The food was MEH . . . had a New York steak 10 oz with a Armagnac-Peppercorn sauce. It was mediocre. Friend had the filet mignon, which was the evening's special, and had to send it back, as it was under cooked. Third friend had a fish dish, also mediocre. Had sides of mashed potato and another of grilled brussel sprouts (the tiniest sprouts I've ever eaten), the sides were small in quantity, and taste-wise UNREMARKABLE. Had two desserts, one was chocolate souffle, and the other was coconut sorbet, OK but nothing to write home about. PORTIONS ARE SMALL AND PRICEY, but since it's in the middle of Bel Air, that kind of explains the priciness. The restaurant is inside Bel Air Hotel, and the latter has very nice grounds. Went in the evening, so couldn't really appreciate the landscaping. If I were Wolfgang Puck, I would walk away from this restaurant, and definitely not want to eat what comes out of the kitchen. I would not return again to eat there, for the price there isn't much value as food quality is lacking.
A beautiful venue & delicious food, respectful service.
No prices on the menu - so an unpleasant surprise when the bill arrived.
No one does it better than Wolfgang Puck. Hotel is lovely as well.
The strength of this breakfast rested on the name and the presentation. Those aspects were as good as it gets. The food itself was very good, but did not live up to my expectations. Personally, I would say the food was presented beautifully and tasted very good, but was not great. For a $120 breakfast, I wouldn’t be eager to return. Worth going once to try it, but not worth what it costs.
Our dining experience made for a lovely afternoon.
The most beautiful place in Los Angeles with great food and implacable service
Expected more given the hype. Ambience and presentation were up to snuff. But my veal chop was cooked amateurishly. “Medium” means cooked to pink center throughout but mine was leather tough on the outer section and near bloody by the bone. Also the server asked if I wanted potatoes (as listed on the menu) or spinach. I took spinach but saw an unwelcome $13 extra charge which Just further compromised the value.
Worst of all too much time passed between soup/salad course and mains — 40 minutes.
These are all correctable problems but at this price level you should not have them.
Fantastic food, ambiance and attention to detail. Beautiful setting; very romantic! The staff was amazing, warm and accommodating.
The best of the best in LA, the service was impeccable, the food was unbelievable and the atmosphere was lovely!!!
Wonderful ambience, food, service and setting, as always! This is a terrific restaurant for a special location.
Just the best! Thank you for an amazing birthday lunch. Our tradition continues going on ten years twice a year!
Great Bel Air gem. The best service in town. Slightly overpriced for the quality of food.
IIt was my birthday & I was treated like a celebrity. Can not wait to go back.
Visiting son in Bel-Air. Wanted to have a special dinner. We were more than pleased with every aspect of our time at the Puck restaurant at the Hotel Bel/Air.
You can never go wrong with Hotel Bel Air. It’s a magical setting in all ways. My negative review only delt with two issues. When booked and arrived clearly explained we were celebrating a birthday 🎂. The waiter was not knowledgeable of the menu at all. Could not recommend anything to us! In addition I attempted to convey to the server that we wanted dessert and it was a Birthday- well no candle and no nothing! Extremely disappointing
Everything about my dining experience was perfect. Went for a friend’s birthday (who had a couple dietary restrictions that the restaurant was more than happy to accommodate, but my friend opted to ignore her restrictions for the night) and it made her night. Service was impeccable, the food divine, and the ambience was stunning. I felt like I was in another city because it’s so tucked away and decorated so beautifully.
The service from the valet to the serve staff at Wolfgang Puck is impeccable. Thank you for making a special lunch with my daughter - who just graduated from college - memorable!
Always exceptional service. Beautiful environment. Overall, a most delightful experience with very good food.
We had an incredible time! Took my sister here for her birthday and we got the greatest service, incredible food, and just the right amount of attention. Thank you for a terrific experience!!
Service and food were excellent! Really enjoyed the dinner!
We had a wonderful time celebrating a joyous occasion!
Very disappointing. Service repeatedly forgot we were there. Prices were extreme for what you received. I mean, for $32 you get 3 scallops and nothing to accompany them on the plate. Lunch for 2 was over $150 for an appetizer and a main and you walk out hungry.
We enjoyed ending up having dinner in bar helped by Nathan.
The salad was inedible. it was soggy and I had the dressing on the side. A lot of money for very poor quality.
Beautiful property with a chic bar, lobby lounge and restaurant. Enjoyed afternoon tea on this occasion.
Multiple time returning guests. Always well received, always a treat, always accommodating. Two UCLA juniors as my guests. It's the talk of Alpha Phi.
Amazing place, Amazon food and super solid service as well. Only gripe was they charged me for 4 glasses of wine when we had only 1. That is unacceptable-
