Excellent service, great food (the bread was addictive), and very interesting fellow diners.
Service was atrocious. Our waiter kept forgetting things n he ldisappeared until time to bring the bill! And even the bill was wrongly charged over 10%.

Branzino (loup de mer) was dry and with a ton of pepper...quite disappointing as it was $$$. Definitely not worth it.

Always love this restaurant it's beautiful and the food is delicious.....but I have to tell you the little overly expensive steak I ordered pink/medium was way over done.....gray and dry. Not typical....but disappointing.

My favorite location for a truly special meal in the Los Angeles area! The food is exceptional and the service is also top-notch! I enjoyed the special cream of mushroom soup - it may be the best soup I have ever had. The chopped salad is a staple on the menu and never disappoints. We tried a couple desserts - they were so yummy! I recommend this restaurant to all and look forward to my next visit in March!
Up until now we thought of this restaurant as our special occasion restaurant.We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past many times. This time, which was my wife's birthday dinner, the food was unappealing. The menu was particularly limited and uninspired. The service was horrible, we were forgotten. My wife received her wine 45 minutes into our stay. It arrived after asking for it twice after the entrees arrived. The side dishes arrived after we consumed our bland meal. Our server could care less about us. No one noticed we were ignored. On top of it, the hotel had an issue with wind, and they were doing repairs during our meal, causing a huge amount of noise.
We went there for our 25th Anniversary. Food was delicious & ambiance was great. We really enjoyed Champagne toast & delicious cake for our Anniversary as treat from them.

For decades the Hotel Bel Air was my home away from home. The dining room and the cozy bar were all family members' top choices. The remodel kept the lovely iconic gardens and architecture, but removed the warmth and inviting ambiance from the interiors.
Saturday's lunch was a birthday celebration. We waited about 45 minutes after ordering to be served 4 Nancy Reagan salads which arrived with mostly lettuce, no discernible meat, very bland. Guests at other tables arrived after we had been there enjoying our wine, they were served their lunches and all but finished before our salads arrived.
I planned a romantic dinner for my husband's birthday and your restaurant was recommended by my food aficionado... A fallen tree had blocked the road and the restaurant agent did not know how to otherwise reach the restaurant and they did not know the road was closed. The security personnel who was handed the phone gave us wrong directions. Thank God for WAZE.., we arrived. The Fuji apple salad was not exceptional and our entrees arrived cold. They were replaced with warm food but... this is a wolfgang puck restaurant... Our friends who suggested this getaway suggested the romantic booth where we were seated. We were so far away that we had to get up and summon our server when we needed to let him know our entrees were cold and the glass was broken.....The atmosphere felt more like a café instead of a romantic booth.. Maybe alluring lighting and music would enhance the ambiance.. The birthday desert glass BROKE into huge jagged pieces . Our attentive waiter replaced the desert and the food with appropriate humor and lightness since none of this was his fault.... however my husband had to get up and find him.
We very much enjoyed our dinner at Hotel Bel-Air's Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Out of sheer curiosity, I was compelled to try the "crudite" and was richly rewarded with a plate filled with some of the freshest vegetables I have ever eaten. Asparagus that tasted as though it had been picked minutes before gracing the tabletop, kale, sweet peppers, cauliflower, brocollini, celery and beautifully cut radish made for an extraordinary beginning to an awesome meal. The oysters we ordered were perfectly cleaned and delicious. As for entrees, the steak and the veal schnitzel were both very generous in size and beautifully prepared and paired with potatoes and veggies. Dessert was excellent and we appreciated the amuse-broushe as well as the complimentary sweets at the end. Service was perfect and the ambiance of the entire property is more appealing than the comparatively stark dining areas but the entire experience is truly worthy of a visit.
Beautiful hotel but the restaurant does not compare to Spago or Cut.
Three of us went for lunch on Saturday. Due to chill in the air, we asked to be seated inside (and were the only ones there.) Service was very slow, one drink was placed in front of the wrong person, and it took quite some time for our food to arrive. I asked for pepper and salt for my salad and although I received it, I was also told salt wasn't good for me. Food was good, but not great, particularly for the price. Have dined here before and loved it, but this time was a miss on multiple fronts.
A yearly birthday celebration destination!
While lovely surroundings and ambiance, the food was not in the least bit exceptional, especially for the very high price. The wine list is outrageous - more than triple times what one would pay in a store. The champagne list was also ridiculously expensive with the least expensive decent champagne bottle priced at $140. The selection was not as extensive as at other "lesser" restaurants and one feels gouged.
The 2 salads we tried were nothing special, the landchops were too salty. Really disappointing!
Excellent for special occasions. The food was as good as expected and portions were perfect. Service was exceptional from our server Rachel. They tested us to special complimentary desserts for our anniversary and a small box of chocolates to go. The only downside was the pricing. I nderaranding that this is a very special and romantic setting it still rips the scale when you add in drinks and shared sides. Corkage for our wine was $50 and valet $15 after validation. Wonderful place to go but do so if cost isn’t a factor.

Food is average and the service was terrible. Don’t waste your money. We had a salad and a sandwich for lunch and it was $100. Such a bummer since it’s a gorgeous tucked away space up in the hills of Bel Air.
It was one of my favorite restaurants unfortunately the quality of food and service has rock bottom The asparagus was chopped and looked like left over no asparagus tips only stems I’ve ordered another asparagus as it was supposed to be cooked after 25 mn no sign of the dish. Asked the waiter about it and he said it’ll take another 8 minutes that meant the chef not even started cooking yet that was the worst after finishing our fishesno sign of asparagus. On top of it we were charged twice for the asparagus 1 never brought to the table the other not accepted as it was cooked with leftovers they corrected the bill and offered free desert I’m not looking for a freebie but good food and service like it use to offer their excuse was he was a temporary chef that doesn’t concern the client it is a great establishment

Last night we had one of our best meals in years; from the service to the location to the incredible food, everything was absolutely perfect. The butcher butter steak was outstanding and delicious, and the cacio e pepe was literally the best we’ve ever had, and we’ve tried (and made) it dozens of times. Both the burrata and gem lettuce salads were brilliantly done... even the bread selection was perfection. Christian, the sommelier, was wonderful to speak with about his expertise in Italian wines, and both of the servers who took care of us danced in at the right times and took care of everything. Add that to the stunning location and beautiful table, and it was truly an impeccable evening. We’ll be back!

Puck at Bel-Air needs a recharging. It used to be fabulous, which is why I will come back and try one more time. Wolfgang himself showed up to work the room, but when he left the problems - which I have experienced several times recently - showed up. The servers like to congregate near the bar, so you often have to waive your hands wildly to get their attention. Like to ask for a refill of water. The service is unpredictable - some nights the servers stop by to see how things are going, but lately they rarely do so. Increasingly the servers forget that somethng was ordered. Same with the managers who one would expect would spend more time circulating the room (as in the past), than hanging out at the reception desk and chatting endlessly with the receptionists. The prime rib cap steak was simply awful. Most of the other dishes are presented nicely, but are bland and boring. The chefs seem to have lost the spark that was apparent in the past.
The food was only just "fine." Unfortunately, the meal itself did not live up to the reputation of the restaurant nor the prices. The experience left one expecting more from a Wolfgang Puck restaurant of this caliber. The service was also only "fine," but did not make up for the mediocrity of the meal. Possibly it was an "off night" for the restaurant, but at 5-star prices one is not afforded the luxury of having "off nights." Definitely stay at the hotel, one of the best experiences you will ever have. Definitely, pass on the restaurant and explore other dining options in Los Angeles.
It was our 35th Wedding Anniversary & we couldn’t have been more pleased to celebrate at this beautiful place. Everything was delicious and the service impeccable!
Beautiful restaurant and excellent food and service. Somewhat pricey but goes with this particular property. If you have a cocktail before dinner and wine figure 250.00 per head depending on wine selection.
