Hadn’t visited in a number of decades, wonderful food and service...looking forward to the next visit.
Probably one of the best restaurants in North Tahoe...we were in N. Tahoe for 3 nights and tried 3 different 5 star restaurants. This one was the best.
This is the most expensive restaurant in Tahoe City, and it absolutely doesn’t warrant the prices. The noise level was like eating in bar prohibiting conservation. The service was acceptable but not outstanding. The food was very good. The men’s restroom was disgusting- the restooms at highway rest stops are cleaner. We wont ever go back. Overall very disappointed.
Wolfdale's never disappoints. There were 6 of us for dinner. Upon arrival we were acknowledged right away and the hostess offered to hang our coats for us. We had several appetizers, smoked trout, asian beets and edamame. All were very good. The only entree we didn't have was the Surf and Turf. Each entree was cooked perfectly, presented beautifully and flavor was phenomenal. The service is impeccable. Hostess to busboys were entertaining and attentive. The signature drinks were clever and unique our favorite was the Elevation. We will make Wolfdale's a must whenever we are in Tahoe.
Wolfdale’s has been one of our very favorite establishments since it opened 42 years ago. Our meal tonight with friends was truly exceptional.
Outstanding cuisine with an outstanding variety of flavors. Excellent presentation and service. A wonderful evening.
Excellent service that is hard to find nowadays. Interesting cuisine. Delicious meals. Delightful ambiance. Will be a staple for every return trip to Tahoe.
Ordered Miso Black Cod special. It had two small bites of fish on top of a bed of rice. Tasty, but absurd.
The J Blue specialty cocktail was amazing, the poke cone bites and gyoza were delicious, well crafted Caesar salad and the scallop dinner and Thai fish stew had very fresh seafood and yummy sauces. We were there there with another couple for our 32nd anniversary and everything was perfect. We will be back!
Excellent Pacific Rim fusion, as always.
Night out with older kids and mom and dad. Very elegant and good was amazing as always. Extremely prompt and courteous service.
Have been going to Wolfdales since 1983 when they were in Homewood. They never disappoint. Creative, excellent “ cuisine unique.” All of Doug’s preparations are outstanding. Don’t miss the smoked trout appetizer. Best anywhere.
We loved it. Warm and charming service, superb menu. First rate. Convenient location, too.
Relaxed, but not entirely casual. Beautiful presentations. Wine prices very reasonable.
We have enjoyed Wolfdale’s for years but last night was simply outstanding. All elements of the evening were terrific. The appetizer, the salad the desert but the main entree’s were just fantastic. Sea Bass and Lamb Shank. It just does not get any better - anywhere, period. Thanks to Wolfdale’s marvelous chef for an evening that will not be forgotten.
New Year’s Eve
Christmas Eve at Wolfdale’s has become a must for us.
Always great and festive during the holidays!
Wolfdale's remains a terrific upscale dining experience at Tahoe. That said, we had a couple of small issues this time: we were seated too near the service area which was a bit of a visual distraction from the very nice dining room. We ordered a salad which was tasty, but gritty; lettuce needed a better rinse. Otherwise all good, esp. the service.
Food was excellent with specials available. Entries we tried included lamb shank, Maine scollops, and fillet of sole -- all of which were excellent! Excellent wine selection and service. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy something special.
Delicious food & fabulous service as always!!
It's a lovely restaurant with a lovely staff that serves exquisite food. Several in our group had to ask for a moment of silence to process the deliciousness they were experiencing. LOL! I have had the pleasure of experiencing much of the fine dining available here in the Tahoe area and Wolfdale's is at the top of the list!!
We always love Wolfdales!!
Wolfdale’s is one of favorite restaurants in North Lake Tahoe. We eat here every time we visit, two to three times a year. And it never disappoints. The food, especially the seafood, is terrific.
Great experience once again at Wolfdale’s in Tahoe City! I absolutely love this place. The ambiance is classy, service is amicable and the food is superb. We enjoyed some cool appetizers in little ceramic spoons that were a slider of sunshine in your mouth with every gulp! Then onto the beet and goat cheese salad. Once again, great taste with a colorful appeal. On to the final tasting sensation: The Paella. So. Utterly. Tasty. With a medley of seafood all bite sized and even a little side of crab, what a great medley of flavors. It was pretty tasty. Of course, we closed with the Chocolate Molten Cake. Once again beautiful set up with great taste in every bite. With such a great set up of staff, chef (the owner of Wolfdale’s), to even the personable hostess (the Chef’s wonderful wife) the experience at Wolfdale’s is one of the best. I would recommend it to anyone in need of a great evening!
"Shoulder Season" is a great time to visit Lake Tahoe... and Wolfdale's! We started at the bar with cocktails and nibbles from the "Happy Hour" menu and finished with spectacular main courses in the dining room. The entire experience... as always... MOST ENJOYABLE!
2 for 1 entree special & happy hour made it an affordable evening
Absolutely the best restaurant ever! Food, service, location, the engaging disposition of the owners and the fact that my name is mentioned in the "wolfdale's book"
Wonderful! We come here every time we are in the area. Enjoy !
Quiet evening at Wolfdale’s... beautiful October sunset, great wine, service, ambience. And, as always, the cuisine is indeed unique ... and SUBLIME! We always look forward to our next visit! Thank you.
Everything was fabulous. Food, service, ambiance for a nice dinner. We enjoyed all of our dining experiences in the Tahoe City/Truckee Area, but this was our favorite. It was a birthday celebration and it seemed everyone on staff that interacted with our table said happy birthday. They really pay attention to the details. Will return on our next trip for sure!
Overall, a wonderful dinner. A unique and creative menu with Asian flair. The only disappointment was the use of pre-made commercial guacamole. The dollop of guacamole tucked under the Hamachi in the Hamachi Spoons appetizer was not made with fresh avocados. The same applies to the swordfish special I ordered, which also had guacamole as a compliment to the fish. If it had been fresh, it would have been wonderful! Unfortunately, all I could taste was the sourness of the additives used to keep prepackaged guacamole from turning brown. The fish itself was excellent, although it was not hot when it hit the table. The smoked trout appetizer was delicious, the Red and Green salad was perfectly dressed with an excellent tasting bleu cheese. My disappointment in those two items will not keep me from returning, but I may ask about the freshness of ingredients when ordering next time. Overall, Wolfdale’s makes for a lovely dining experience.
WOW' what great service, and a wonderful meal. We will return very soon
36 yr anniversary
Excellent food and staff.
Very accommodating, we were able to move tables to a quiet corner.
The cod, scallops and filet were amazing!
The chef is a genius! The house Cabernet is fantastic and a great value.
A happy birthday dinner! Thank you Wolfdale’s!!!
The food was superb, atmosphere was very nice and a very friendly environment.
Upscale without the attitude.
One in our party ordered lamb shank but before ordering asked the waiter if it was sweet. The waiter assured him that it was not and he ordered it. It turned out to be very sweet and he could not eat it and said he will take it home and doctor it. He refused to complain or return it because he considered it impolite. We all gave him a bit from our plates so he doesnt go hungry
Otherwise i would have rated yor restaurant higher. Indru kriplani
Continues to be Tahoe’s best restaurant.
We had a very good experience. The food is good, imaginative, and nicely presented. Server was not super attentive, but it was ok.
I write at least five reviews each year for "Wolfdale's". Suffice it to say that it's our "go to" spot for a consistently outstanding dining experience!
Food is expensive and portions are small. Otherwise 5 star would be given.
