Exceeded expectations!! Food, service, ambience all were what we have come to expect in a much hyped venue but so often leave without experiencing. Your loss to miss the potato wrapped oysters!!

My boyfriend and I were visiting tofino and came here for dinner for our first night. Neither of us had been to wolf in the fog before but had been gifted a gift card for Christmas. I had the vegetarian lasagna and it was by far the best lasagna I have ever had! Our server was great and so were our cocktails and wine! I would highly recommend

Our second dinner here, this time with our 8 month old on New Year's eve. We had reservations and were seated right away in a perfect corner spot by the windows. The food was all great - we had the octopus, bamfield seaweed salad, foie gras and the albacore tune w/ pork belly. The service was overall quite good, however we did feel a little like we had over stayed our welcome after 2 hours there. I understand that on New Years Eve its stressful for a restaurant to keep the tables rotating with lots of customers wanting to be seated, but perhaps the staff could have been a little less overt about eye balling us when we decided to order dessert and an aperitif instead of leaving. Anyhow, its still the best place in Tofio by a long shot, and one of the best in Canada.

Dining at Wolf in the Fog in Tofino is a delight. The food is fresh, local, beautiful, and delicious. The baked goods are also outstanding. Funky ambience, friendly service, reasonable prices - what more could you ask for?

Every dish we had had some interesting flair and was excellently prepared. Especially loved the duck shared main and the octopus appetizer. The sablefish was also good. The service and timing were attentive and not rushed. Good cocktail menu. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed the whole experience. Lovely decor and beautiful views.

Nice restaurant. Reservation worked out well. We were seated upstairs and waitress came by after a short wait. Menue is limited and I was missing the real local food. Quality however is very good and portions are generous. We were there with friends and as it is very noisy, it requires quite some effort to have a decent conversation.

Overall, I think this restaurant is resting on its laurels following the AC win for best new restaurant in 2014. When we arrived it was clear that the staff was more concerned about how quickly they could turn our table and move on to the next guest rather than the quality of our experience. We ordered appetizers (which we were told are designed for sharing), and when they arrived (only moments after we ordered, which didn't even give us the chance to enjoy the wine that was just opened) they completely occupied the small table. With only three appetizers between the two of us, there was no room for our plates on the table. This made for an uncomfortable and rushed experience through the first course. Of the appetizers, the fried oyster was delicious, but the squid, which was well cooked was accompanied by a salad which included strands of julienned raw jalapenos, which completely destroyed the dish, as well as the ones it was served with as your mouth was on fire for the rest of the course. We had the "Block Party" for the main, which was underwhelming. The fried chicken was tasteless, and the ribs bordered on cold, though the pulled pork was truly delicious. We didn't bother with dessert following our meal experience. If you do go, I'd stick to the cocktail list, which is inventive and delicious.

I have been dying to get to Tofino and Wolf in the Fog since I read the En Route mag where it was selected as the best new restaurant. Ordinarily, this would mean that the anticipation would set me up for at least some level of disappointment, but not here. With a party of 5 (and a reservation for 60+ days since we went over Christmas), we were placed at a central table with another group of 6 or 8. That made for a bit of interaction with friendly strangers, which I always love. The service was great - attentive and informative but also unobtrusive. The food (a couple of appies and 2 sharing platters) was phenomenal!! I am still thinking about it. I don't think anything would have been "just ok". My dad even said the pasta of the day we all shared (squid ink tagliatelle with chorizo) was the best he has ever had. (Note: this is a man who is not known for gushing ;) If you have the chance, run - don't walk - to Wolf in the Fog. I'm already dying for my next trip to Tofino (by the way, the beaches, trails, scenery there is beautiful too... ;)!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal and experience at Wolf in the Fog during our visit to Tofino over the holidays. The shrimp croquette was amazing and the Moroccan spiced oysters were good too. We had the duck sharing plate which was great. The most memorable part of our meal was the butterscotch brulee with caramelized white chocolate and raspberry sorbet. In addition, the service was friendly and we loved the cozy ambiance! We'll be back!

A great addition to the winter menu, is the "Potato and Leek" soup, accompanied by smoked cod and sour cream, though, do to my dietary restrictions, I could not partake of the cod and sour cream. This is another great attribute of "Wolf in the Fog" . . . meeting the special dietary needs of its patrons! The SHARE plates are "not" to be missed. This time, we tried the new "Creole Sablefish and Shrimp." It was a real treat, with andouille sausage, rice, peppers, and a gravy, that reminded me of the amazing "honey cup mustard" I grew up with. Share plates are great, because though some ingredients were on my "NO" list, there were plenty of things on my "YES" list. It was another fabulous meal with terrific service, and it's no wonder we are going back again, in a few days!
