Wokcano - Valencia Ratings and Reviews
Everything about this place was great except for the service. I made made reservations for a birthday dinner. We got the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation time and was seated to our table, which was great but unfortunately our waiter never came by. We waited 20 minutes, no one came by to even take our drink order. At that point, I went to the front desk to ask for a server. The only reason we stayed and didn’t leave was because the birthday boy really wanted to try out the food here. And by the looks of it, the table next to us had the same issues.
I've never left a negative review cuz I have a life and don't make it a point to troll but this was a really awful experience. All of the waiters and waitresses were curt and short right from the start, the food was ok but soo overshadowed by how nasty everyone was. I asked if it was possible to substitute tofu for chicken in the chicken curry dish (I've done so 4 times at this location before) but they couldn't do it. I'm not veg, I just really love tofu in curry (it's soo good!). They said they could ONLY substitute vegan chicken ...but not tofu (I'm sorry, what?!) soo whatevs that's fine, I was super nice about it, didn't mention the 4 other times I'd ordered tofu and curry successfully, and quickly just ordered something else. After that, we were on their list and they were all just real rude for the remainder of our dinner.
Side note: About a month prior, we made a reservation on open table for dinner and when we arrived they asked when we made the reservation (it was 1 hour prior) they said we needed to reserve a table on open table at least 4 hours in advance in order for them to honor it (again, what?!). That was our last time going here BUT we had a party of 3 visiting from Washington and they reallllllly wanted Wokanco so we went.
Anyway, sorry for the rant..
Sorry guys, literally never again.
When we got there we were sat immediately. Nice. There menu was good, chose dinner for two and was excellent. Service was there before we asked for anything and they were friendly and great persona!ity. Fabulous evening with my beau.
Waiter was great. I made a reservation because I thought it would be busy on a Sunday night but was surprised to see it so empty at 6 pm. Food was ok. Chicken dishes were a little dry. Too much salad dressing on my salad. But my son enjoyed his sushi.
We had booked this reservation well in advance because there are few late night options in our town, and a class of 500 students graduating in our town that night. We arrived on time for our reservation, and many others were arriving without reservations. We were told it would be "five minutes" until we would be seated. 15 minutes later, we still weren't seated, so my husband inquired again. He was told again, "five minutes." Ten minutes later, we were finally seated. The server was attentive. The food was fine, it wasn't fantastic. My lo mein was lukewarm, but I wasn't going to send it back. The restaurant was incredibly loud, and it was impossible for us to hear beyond the person seated right next to or across from us. None of us plan on returning to Wokcano.
Went for my birthday, which is also on Valentine's day.... it was great, but when friends told server it was my birthday he just said "happy birthday" and took the checks. No free cocktail or scoop of ice cream or anything, no big deal, but for how much money we spent for a party of 8 it would have made the experience feel a little more like the occasion we went for.
Normally everything is outstanding. This time they did not meet up to my expectations.
After repeating our order back to us correctly, they forgot the Black pepper mignon which never showed up at the table. Told them about it and they offered to make, but with everything else on the table, it would be to long of a wait
