Everything was great EXCEPT check-in. Please train your staff to take the couple of extra seconds to PROPERLY check people in on their reservations, especially when using OpenTable. Tired of getting emails saying I didn't keep the reservation because of your people's incompetence.
We shared the dishes we ordered, and everything was fresh and delicious. Great service too. My colleagues complimented me for suggesting we go to Wokano.
Hostess was excellent, and waiter was just as amazing... the quality of the food was exceptional served at the perfect temperature. Would recommend Wokcano to anyone looking for excellent food and great service.
Not expensive, but unpleasantly noisy and the food was not good. Not good ingredients, not good cooking.
Very extensive menu with all different types of Asian food. Sushi is really great, but hand rolls do not quite compare the KazuNori. Definitely on the pricier side, as well.
The food was great and the atmosphere was pretty quiet considering it was lunch time for a busy part of town. Service was good but kind of slow as there probably could have been more staff on hand to help with the lunch rush. I would definitely go back.
I had dinner with family members from out-of-state that I had never met before. I mentioned this to our waitstaff and they were very patient with us and let us sit, eat and talk as long as we needed. Very gracious and my family said it was the best meal they’d had while in LA and they were looking for a Wokcano in their part of the world!
Great place my kids loved the food and the waiter was the best
Lately, Wokcano has problem for dine-in. It takes too long.
This time the brown rice was not fresh, some part were really really dry.
Not sure what happen, no more fresh flower in front, bambu are dying, but most importantly is the quality of food is going down.
Last Friday, 3/9/18, it took an unusuall 30min from the time we sat down to our food to get served. We were only party of 3 and we sat at table 11:30, right before lunch rush.
I enjoyed nice Japanese fusion appetizer and nice sushi roll. Both of them are very delicious for Japanese.
We had a great time and service and food was awesome!
I was in LA for a 6 day business trip and ate at Wokcano 3 times, need I say more? The sushi was delicious!!!! The Nigiri sampler platter, Red Dragon roll and the Eel & Avocado rolls were my favorites. Service and staff was 2nd to none! Everyone kept telling me to eat at another Sushi restaurant down the street but Wokcano's was for me! Do yourself a favor when visiting downtown LA and eat at Wokano's. A++!
Food excellent and plentiful
Service a little slow and MIA a bit
Overall we’d go back
We had to wait to be seated and then wait a while for our server, but the food was amazing
I love Wokcano! This was my fourth time going and I am always so impressed with the food, especially how large the portions are. It's great if you have a large group and want to get a bunch of dishes to all share OR you can just get your own. I have been to the one in SM that actually turns in to a dance party afterwards and that was a blast! Not sure if they all do that but they had a DJ and everything. I would definitely recommend this place!
Go to place for wings, edamame, and garlic noodles
Nice restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Portions were huge. We had the lamb, shrimp and pork and all were good.
Reservation Dinner for two one day before Christmas Eve .
Excellent sashimi!! The garlic edamame was some of the best I ever tasted. Great experience. Going back foh-sure!!
Love the baked crab hand rolls and spicy tuna crispy rice!!
I was visiting LA ab.s. the restaurant is convenient to my hotel. The food is decent. I had the Curry Chicken and found it to be very flavorful. My dining companion ordered the Mongolian Beef which I found to be overly salty. We shared an order of fried rice and although it was good, I thought it was pricey at $18.
The food was wonderful but our waiter did not make it back to the table with a few of our items (i.e. water, teriyaki sauce, etc.)
Our waiter was very professional and nice. The sushi rolls are fantastic!
Music too loud to have comfortable conversation with others at the table. Service was good. Food was good although they were out of a lot side vegetable dishes. NO AIR CONDITIONING - they did have fans going to help move the air.
Loved it!! Came in by myself on a Saturday night. Was a close walk from my hotel and the webpage and menu was inviting. The place was really busy but I had booked through Open Table and was seated right away. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing considering how busy they were. Service was prompt, friendly, helpful and attentive... and not pushy or anxious. Food and drinks were delicious with no issues and minimal waiting. Ordered the Double Kung Pao.. it has chicken and shrimp with just the right flavors. Sushi roll was really good too. Ordered a margharita and couldn’t stop at just one.... delicious and reasonably priced. Also tried the sake flight.. three unique samples for $10. Had a great experience from the initial greeting to the bill. Would definately return and bring friends, kids or a date. Oh, and they have valet parking.
Living DTLA I've always frequented Wokcano for lunch, and it's an excellent get together place with friends for dinner & hang out place . The food does not disappoint and the Sushi is very good. Fast service and great staff.
Tip : some of the hop plates do have MSG , ask for No MSG at point of ordering.
Great place for parties, they have a special party room .
The service level started off slow but picked up... I think my server was a little preoccupied, but he pulled it off at the end!
I've had much better sushi.. no flavor and I would not recommend to anyone. Atmosphere was okay if you like to see homeless men sitting on the curb outside the window you're eating beside.
Easy access from Metro rain. Walk back up hill to Music Center/ disney Hall.
Food tasty and good. Service was a little slow. Never came back to table to check
with us to see if all ok. Even though we sat in back dining room, it was still very noise from the bar area. Overall a 4+
The air conditioning was out when we arrived but the attentive waiter kept our water full and overcame the heat.
We ate there Saturday night, September 2. AC was broken/almost not working, and entire restaurant was sweltering hot. Server took 10 minutes (for real) to first come to us. She took beer order, and disappeared. Ten minutes later, finally snagged a different server, and she brought some cold beer. Food was bland. Not worth the money.
The air is out 😑: food is good..!!!
Food was ok but the service could be better and the AC was broken so it was really hot and humid which created an uncomfortable dining experience.
The food was great. However, the restaurant was a little hot.
the sushi is really bad and not fresh. I have the runs after I go home.
Horribly hot inside for some reason. Not sure if air was down but if it doesn't get fixed I wouldn't bother going again.
