Favorite spot downtown LA for business lunch. Friendly reception and wait staff and the food is always good.
A wonderful casual dining experience in the heart of Downtown LA. Inbetween two major shopping areas, across from the 7th/Metro subway station. Very zen decor and feel, dimmed lighting at night, cocktail lounge and sushi bar in rear. Food is fresh, tasty, good service and a good bang for the buck! Menu has good selection with variety: sushi, meals, soups and plenty of California rolls. Rainbow Roll and Late Night Party rolls are packed with flavor! Look forward to our next visit...
Everything was fine but it appeared there was one server for the entire lounge area. So that meant one waits to get served or long intervals Edie’s the server could get back to you. I ditched my reservation to take advantage of the happy hour so I’m not talking regular table service.
AMAZING PLACE GREAT FOOD GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AMAXZING PRICES
Wokcano has always been a backup plan joint. If we can’t find anything else then we hit up this place. The ambience is dark and romantic the staff are busy bustling around but they will pay attention to you if you need help. So it isn’t a biggy og they have a packed house. Food is awesome if your undecided on what to eat well there is plenty to choose from off the menu. They have a sushi bar, hot stove kitchen and also Bbq Japanese style.
Food was fair. Meh. Nothing great & I would probably chose somewhere wise next time
Usual excellent lunch at Wokcano with a guest. Food is terrific with a selection for everyone.
Good food overall. Singapore noodles were good. Rice dishes were good. Fried calamari was much too greasy. We did not order alcohol.
Ambiance is business lunch with some sophistication. Excellent food choices and portions, from appetizers to main courses. Wait service was professional and put us on the right track for quantity of food and suggested consensus favorite items from the menu. While main course items are intended for one person, they can easily be shared between two people or more.
Great food but loud ambience
Super friendly staff!
The food is highest quality with lots of choices. Absolutely delicious!
We had a nice time, our waiter was excellent and the food was very good, but the hostess did not mark my Opentable reservation as attended. We were one of only two parties in the bottom level of the dining room by the window when we arrived early on a Sunday night. So I suspect that, even though I told her we were a party of four from Opentable, she simply took us as walkins and ignored her OT app. This is always very frustrating because then I get one of those emails from OT that I flaked on my reservation (something I have never done) and how this could negatively affect the restaurant's business. So I'm irked on this place and in no rush to return anytime soon.
Pleasant and uncomplicated place.
Tasty, authentic food
Good food, definitely not authentic, but tasty. A bit pricey for what you get, but it tastes good.
We go there whenever visiting LA...took three friends for first time and they loved food and atmosphere. You’re guaranteed great food every visit!
The noise level is bad. Otherwise good restaurant
Wonderful place with good food. The water is also good.
It was a great meal !:)
I was promptly seated-no wait whatsoever-, our server was friendly and helpful, and our food order was prepared quickly.
The front desk ladies were rude! They have an attitude problem! The Asian short lady in the front desk kept on rolling her eyes on me when I was waiting for my friends to show up! Bad service, I didn't feel welcome!
Wokcano is a great restaurant to go to to get tasty Asian cuisine meals. I am definitely going back for a dinner date with me S. O.
Food was amazing would choose Wokcano over pfchang any day.
The only thing bad about this place is no AC! Food is great!
I've been to the Los Angeles location several times; however, I've noticed a decline. Dirty silverware and no air conditioning the evening I visited. That had fans on chairs trying to cool the restaurant down- wasn't working.
Went during happy hour, had lots of great rolls discounted. The atmosphere was wonderful and the decor is gorgeous!
Food and value were great, but it was unbelievably hot inside. I'm not picky with restaurant temperatures, but this was so bad we had to get our food to go and warm it up at home, because we were sweating too much to enjoy anything.
Booked in advance, seated promptly, food was delivered promptly, slightly on the greasy side but great flavor. Pleasant atmosphere. Attentive wait staff.
The air conditioning has been out for months!! They have fans positioned throughout the restaurant. If your not sitting in front of one it is uncomfortable. Our waiter said they will not be fixing anytime soon.
Great food but the AC wasn’t working. Don’t their best to put up fans.
Food was great but the restaurant had no air conditioning or fans.
Overall the food made up for the service. The front desk did not have our reservation ready when we arrived, but it's OK we hit the bar to await our table but 20-25 mins flew by and no one called us. I proceeded to the front desk but for some reason, our reservation could not be found after they told us it wasn't ready so that was quite odd and the front desk looked clueless. There was one employee though who ended up taking care of us so that kind of made up for the rocky start. The server was excellent and attentive to that point and the food was great.
Never filled up water or ice tea. The restaurant had door open and got hotter every minute. We left dripping in sweat. Had to ask for check. Service was bad. Food was fine. Won’t be back in the summer and disappointed in the service from start to finish.
The ac is broken so it was hot when we first came in but it cooled down.
AC was not on during the heatwave, so it was a little uncomfortable, but the food was okay. Nothing special, but not bad either.
large size of dish for three.
Chill vibes. Understaffed, however our waitress was very professional.
Good chinese stir fry but super warm in the backroom. Had it been a little cooler I might have enjoyed the food more. They did mess up my husbands order, but were quick to make him what was ordered. Wait staff was excellent.
Food was really good, but the waiter seemed to have forgotten about us and came back when I flagged him down for the check. Didn’t seem that busy and we wanted a second cocktail but ran out of time.
The portions were huge and the service was great. Probably need a kids menu but we soldiered through
