WK Hearth Ratings and Reviews
SUPERB food, expertly prepared and presented. Great service, and "just right" amount of attention. Wait staff was honest and on point with their recommendations. Nice selection of wines, and I really appreciate that they aren't trying to push the local wines down my throat (yucky for the most part). The only downside was the very loud and boisterous group of people sitting next to our table.... they may have been more comfortable at a frat party, but I would not hold that against the restaurant. Great everything, and we look forward to returning!
Went here with my fiance to celebrate Valentine's Day and had such a wonderful experience. Was just super cozy, romantic and delicious. The food was super delicious, very creative menu and service personable. I especially love their wine flights with their fun descriptions. Ended up buying two bottles of wine for great prices too!
This is the fourth time I have been to the Hearth and it only gets better! The food is always fantastic. Rib Eye = awesome, Rockfish = awesome, Tar Tar = Incredible. The staff is always pleasant, helpful, and professional. Its like they all own the restaurant and treat you impeccably. The bar after dinner was the cherry on top the sundae and you have to try the Smore's Old Fashion. Can't wait to go again!
Can’t recommend this place enough. My boyfriend and I have visited the Leesburg location multiple times, but this was the first time we made it out to Purcellville. We had a reservation for my mom’s birthday, and everything went pretty smoothly from start to finish. We ordered a bottle of the Occam’s Razor Cabernet Sauvignon for the table, which was delicious. Four out of five of us ordered steaks (my dad ordered the rockfish, of which he entirely cleaned his plate) and everything was cooked/seasoned perfectly. We ordered the dessert sampler at the end of the night, which was also fantastic. As far as service goes, the wait staff were courteous and very helpful.
What we really enjoyed was one of the co owners, Mike, stopping by our table to chat. He clearly has a love for locally sourced ingredients and great wine. On top of that, he has a passion for making sure that the wine they sell is accessible and reasonably priced (he basically convinced my parents to buy a case of the Cab Sauv...which let me tell you, the price was a steal). He made sure we were treated well and him taking the time to talk to us was really nice. Plus, he sent us off with a free bottle of champagne in celebration of my mom’s birthday. Can’t beat that!
Our experience here was top notch and has definitely fueled the flames for us to stop by the Frederick location very soon. The Wine Kitchen is an absolute gem for the NoVa area, and it has for sure become one of our top favorites for special occasions. Love it!
We went for an early dinner during Restaurant Week. They have several wine flights that you can do as tastings that have fun descriptions that accompany them. While they might be unusual, it was definitely a fun moment to try and read the descriptions and then just come up with our own crazy ideas. I had the short ribs, and they were perfectly cooked. I was also pleasantly surprised by the mashed potatoes because they weren't over-seasoned. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. I would definitely return!
A wonderful experience! Everything that we ate was delicious. In particular, the meat was the best we had eaten in the area. The service was excellent: kind and professional. It was our first time, but we will definitely go back. WK Hearth is now in our list of top favorite restaurants.
WK Hearth was a wonderful place for a girls night out. The food and wine was great. We all enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was wonderful in helping us with our selections and being very attentive. We talked long after our meal and closed down the place but the staff was so great about it. We will definitely come back.
As always we had a fabulous time at the WK Hearth. The food, wine and service were outstanding!! To top it all off my boyfriend proposed to me and it turned out to be an engagement dinner! The staff was great, they treated us to champagne and was wonderful with the surprise. Thank you for always making our experience top notch!!
Lovely farm-to-table local food, friendly service. I am so glad this place finally re-opened after the fire! I was happy to see that the friendly staff that we knew from before was back and refreshed. I had one of my perennial WK Hearth faves, the brussels sprout salad, which was as amazing as ever, and my family ate the prime rib and the pork special, and there were rave reviews all around. They also had a lovely port special that the recommended for after dinner- what a great way to cap off an amazing dinner! (Ok, that and the apple waffles...). Can’t wait to go back again!
This was the perfect spot for a friends brunch get-together. The place is small and the menu is limited, however, do not let that discourage you. The ambiance is charming and the quality of the food was good. The portions are a bit small so I think the value of meal may not have been great but it was a wonderful, quiet brunch spot that was the perfect place for conversation.
Came in last weekend to celebrate our wedding. The meat and cheese and tartar apps were great. Ordered the ribeye rare and it was perfect. One of the best ribeyes I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Sat upstairs so it wasn’t very noisy, plus we dined fairly late. Only complaint was that it was a little warm upstairs. I’ll definitely be going back.
If I could give more stars for service, I would! We had dinner to celebrate my mom's and my husband's birthday but since it had been over a year since we dined at WK Hearth, I forgot that most of the tables are upstairs. Upon seeing my dad with his walker, the staff immediately accommodated us. They moved us to the only table that would fit our party on the first floor and were very kind about the switch. The wine and beer flights were great (we always enjoy the winsome description cards) and our appetizers (mussels and acorn squash soup) as well as entrees (monkfish special, beef tenderloin, gnocchi) were delicious. The whole staff was so gracious and friendly and we couldn't have asked for better food -- highly recomend!
The food was delicious, perfectly made to order and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is cozy and it is not quite, as the space is fairly small and the place quite popular. However, the personal space was not breached. Topping it all is the service. Cara was just perfect.
Altogether a very enjoyable experience.
This visit was for a grand opening after a period of closure due to a fire. The theme was to come dressed for the 1920's. Attendance was extensive from regulars and others that heard about the event and decided to come. In all, it was vibrant and fun. The food was exceptional, the mixed drinks unique and enjoyable, and the whole event was great fun.
My husband and I were so impressed with the Wine Kitchen in Frederick that we wanted to check out their chop house in Purcellville. It did not disappoint. In a time when customer service is all but dead, the WK Hearth staff prove to be the exception. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, making a wonderful meal that much more enjoyable. My husband and I shared the BELT salad (incredible use of fresh dill) and the Brussels sprout salad (one of the most beautiful dishes I’ve ever been served). We then both had the burger topped with bacon jam. BACON. JAM. We finished the meal with a dessert recommended by the owner, who took the time to chat with us about the restaurant as well as the surrounding area, which goes to show that if attitude reflects leadership, it’s no wonder why WK Hearth has such phenomenal staff. Can’t recommend this place enough and my husband and I can’t wait to visit the Leesburg location. This has officially become our favorite go-to restaurant.
We are so pleased they are back open. Our food was to die for this past weekend. Ribeye and sides were second to none, and my wife LOVED the spaghetti pesto, a perfect veggie dish. We are foodies and pleasing our diversity is a real challenge. Well done WK. we were glad to see most of the staff back too. They were real busy which slowed the evening down for us to a perfect date night pace. Will be going back real soon!
We hadn't been in a year and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the attentiveness (not helicopter though) of the wait staff. Only downside was a blinding chandelier that I noticed immediately when we walked in and was in my view for dining. No dimmer apparently but promised that that was on the punch list for them. Only other issue was a woman at bar who was a constant "cackler". Nothing worse... But the warm brussel sprout salad is to die for . Might consider making it for Thanksgiving if they'll give up the recipe. Fish was nicely cooked. And we talked to the owner about their wonderful Hazelnut cake dessert which needed a very slight tweak (more ice cream). Loved the wine selections!
My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and an early birthday for me this past Saturday night. We couldn't have had a better experience with the wine, food and ambiance. Our server was attentive but not over bearing. We were treated to champagne for our celebrations which was delicious! The food was the star of the night!! From the cheese board to dessert all were above outstanding!! The WK Hearth is my favorite restaurant in all of the area and if I could frequent it more I would. Keep doing what you are doing!! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the best food ever!!!
I have eaten here before and have always loved it but this last experience here was amazing. The food was incredible. We started with the warm Brussels sprout salad. It was to die for. Then we got a complimentary steak tartare because someone had ordered it no longer wanted it. I will now order this every time I go. Amazing combination of flavors. Wow! For our mains I had the sweet Pototoe Gnocchi and my husband had the Pastami style Short Ribs. Both were spectacular. Our server was polite, friendly andvattentive. I haven't even mentioned the cocktails! Love that this quality and service is in our own back yard.
