We went to Witherspoon during Restaurant Week. We had the Best Salad, Tomato Soup and Filet Trio. The salad was very good, with a little too much vinegar for our taste. The tomato soup was excellent, including the grilled cheese crouton. The three filets of beef were cooked perfectly, delicious and the portion was generous. For dessert we had the creme brulee and the berry bread pudding, which were both the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. Our server, Ariel, is a friendly professional, who is attentive, making the experience, one to return for.
Always a great deal At Witherspoon Grill! Fun to have cocktails while waiting for your table. Extensive wine list. Service and good are always outstanding!
Always a wonderful meal. Great service!
Received friendly greetings when we arrived and got the table in less than 2 minutes. The service was good, the noise level can be ignored. The food was great though it took a little longer than was expected. Overall this is a nice restaurant in Princeton area to choose.
Loved everything about it!
This visit was my first experience. I have to say it was amazing i cannot wait to come and visit again
good food and good service nice location to eat in town
Was seated quickly. Waiter was pleasant and efficient. Food was delicious!
Always so good! Everyone enjoyed their meals. The spinach dip appetizer is always my favorite and the lobster risotto was delicious.
Have been to Witherspoon Grill many times. Excellent service and excellent food. Will go back again.
Went for a birthday, had great food and a good variety of options. Big drink menu as well would definitely recommend. Really great for large groups, cool ambiance, nice location.
My family and I visited on a Wednesday to celebrate my birthday. Great meal, excellent service, and the place was packed. Every table was occupied and our food was paced well and fantastic. We have been here numerous times and will certainly be back again. I would like to see them update the wine by the glass options. The red varieties available were just ok in my opinion.
Was super excited for our date in Princeton because she had never been. Ordered 4 cheese dip and they forgot about it. Then they brought out our meal and once they did that I asked about it and they did say sorry. But then brought it out during our main course. Had also asked for a glass of red wine with my steak which they had forgot about twice. Nothing was compt. Over all was very upsetting for the amount of money spent. Would have rather ate someplace else if I knew we weren’t going to be served properly for there just being a handful of diners in the establishment
Love this restaurant!!! Food and service is outstanding!!!!
Had a great pre-theater dinner at Witherspoon grill ! Danielle was very welcoming and food was great.
Meal was outstanding as ever. Always good
The service and food were excellent. Both were beyond our expectations. We were there before a show in a very busy Saturday night. The lobster risotto and crab cake were great.
We will be returning.
We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guest was impressed.
However, there was some confusion with our open table reservation. We were seated after we arrived on time at 4:55 PM and had announced our OT reservation. After 20 minutes texts were received wondering if we were late, etc., However, we were certainly there and eventually the staff checked to see if we had the open table reservation and it seemed it was worked out. We asked our waiter to double check to see if all was OK. When we got home we received an OT message which indicated we hadn’t shown up and it became confusing again. I remember the delicious crab cakes we had, the steak, the key lime pie. It wasn’t a dream.
Delicious food. Pretty setting. Good service. Highly recommend.
This restaurant does not disappoint. A bit expensive but worth every penny. This establishment has a serene environment, attentive service and food that is out of this world! I highly recommend the Roast Beet Salad, it is the best I have ever had!
First time coming here for me and it was absolutely outstanding! The crime brûlée was to die for! Will definitely be coming back!
Burger was out of this world. Would highly recommend.
Witherspoon Rocks. Josean makes great Malabar cocktails and everyone at Witherspoon is fantastic
Lovely atmosphere, quick service with no rush to clear the table.
Brimah provided excellent service. The food was excellent as well. We had the crab cakes and veal chop T-bone. Hope to be back soon.
Food was good except my daughter's and my pork chop had to be sent back because they were overcooked (originally ordered medium). This is the first time this has happened but it happened to both of our chops.
Both waitress and manager were very attentive and polite and made good on a second chop for each of us.
However, I would not order this again.
It was very noisy and we were quite slow to be served. Usually, we find the service quite attentive. The food was very good and they were cheerful to clean up and get my husband another glass of wine after he spilled his - that was nice.
We have eaten at Witherspoon Grill a few times in recent months. The food is consistenly excellent, whether it is meat or seafood, the service is friendly, attentive and professional! Our server on this trip was terrific! The bill was reasonable for the food and drink we ordered. It's dependably fantastic!
My meal was perfection - the best scallops I’ve ever eaten!
I've been to the Witherspoon Grill in the past but this time I was very disappointed. The brunch menu looked great but unfortunately the food was bland and the hash potatoes were under done and not well seasoned. In addition, the beet salad was "eh" lacking any flair or extravagant taste. I believe the salad use to have pistachios. If it didn't add it and it will add more of a flavor profile. The food is pricey but overall this time I was not too impressed. I also informed under special request that I was celebrating someone's birthday and nothing was ever mentioned regarding the request. Like I said overall atmosphere is nice and the food normally is exceptional but I did not feel it lived up to my level of expectation this time and therefore I am giving this true rating.
My childhood friend and I “met in the middle” to have brunch. It was our first time at the Witherspoon Grill but it will not be our last! The environment had great energy, Nina, our server, was like an old friend and super attentive, the food was beautiful and delicious, and we wanted to hug the bartender (tasty libations are important to us). Witherspoon Grill will now be our meetup for brunch each month. Can’t wait until we meet again!
My wife and I took our daughter out to lunch in Princeton, NJ. We wanted a special experience and some place that would ensure that. The lunch at the Witherspoon Grill was excellent, as always!
The host/manager was extremely rude to guests who were coming in. When we arrived, he was speaking with a very rude tone to someone who was asking about eating outside. Agreed it was 30 degrees out so it was a bit of a ridiculous ask but he was being rude. Then when we checked in, he talked in an extremely condensing way to our group because our reservation had been made for four however we had a baby, so we should have the reservation for five. I appreciated the insights for future reference but his tone was condensing and like he was lecturing us. Also, the restaurant had literally just opened so it didn't seem like a huge deal that we had to sit at table for four that could accommodate a highchair vs. one that couldn't. Our friends were visiting from out of town with their daughter and agreed he was a jerk for making such a big deal about it.
Great server. Good food.
Always excellent food and service
Excellent as usual from service to quality to attention to detail. Perfect!
One of the best crab cakes my wife and I have ever had. Everything was delicious and the server "Brimah" was awesome. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again. Great place to share a special occasion.
A booth would have been better. Tables were very close to each other which was a bit uncomfortable.
We got calamari for an app, as well as the oyster sample. The oysters were incredible, the calamari came with cherry peppers and was good, but a sauce of some sort (a lemon aioli would’ve been perfect, but I’m no chef) would’ve been a nice accompaniment. I got a chop salad, which wasn’t chopped, and had minimal dressing. He got the five onion soup, and we both were very impressed; you should definitely get that! He ordered NY strip, steak, seasoning was perfect, my crab cake was plain, and again, would’ve been better with a sauce. We also got the Brussels sprouts (I thought the bacon would make them better, not so much) and hash browns (with sour cream and chives). Neither of which were mind blowing. All in all, we would go back again because we think a second round would benefit us by trying something new from the menu. The restaurant itself was nice looking and the menu price seems like it’s the “fancy” restaurant in the neighborhood. I want to add, I’m a bit picky so you may love this restaurant and completely negate my opinion. Good luck!
We've been going to Witherspoon for many years. It's one of our favourite places. Actually we also eat "our" food regularly and do not experiment.
Today we ordered "Wild Mushroom Bucatini" from the day menu. The price: 20 dollars per portion.
It was nothing more than a small starter. Totally overpriced.
Maybe after years we'll have to make another lunch plan. This is a complete rip-off.
Then it happened that we even had to pay $22 per person and the waiter was disturbed when we complained.
But then we only paid $40 for two small appetizers. And went out for lunch.
