WiseGuys Steak & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
After having a late lunch we were not overly hungry. My wife had the beet salad and chicken and waffles from the small plates section of the menu. I had the she crab soup and filet sliders. The food was very good and service was just as good. We've been coming to Hilton head for 15 years and never been to wise guys. This will definitely be on our list of restaurants to revisit.
We had a great Valentine's Day dinner at Wise Guys. I had a very tasty salmon dish with farro. The two meshed together nicely. My husband had the Grouper which he enjoyed. To cap off the dinner, we had the chocolate fondue. This dessert is excellent with the pot of melted chocolate, strawberries, bananas, pound cake, and churros to dip into it. Can't pass up this delicacy!
It was Valentines Day for us. From the entrance the staff was friendly and inviting. Chris was our waiter and was very knowledgeable of the menu. For our first time there everyone made sure we were comfortable with the menu and atmosphere. I think it was either the front of the house manager or the kitchen manager that came to check on us. The food was delicious. The ambiance was inviting, and I thought the food was priced as expected. I gave the waiter and staff special directions for the occasion and everyone happily obliged. They made sure our night was memorable.
My order of rare ahi tuna was over cooked. It was readily taken back I thought to prepare another one properly.
The resulting dish came back even more cooked than it was the first time. It looked like they just cooked it some more which makes no sense.
I’ve been there many times when they did a better job. I chalk it up to they’re being very busy the day before Valentines Day.
Usually the food and the prices are quite good. The waiter was very good and attentive. The restaurant is liberal in applying its BOGO coupons to everyone present. Drink prices were reasonable but the wines seemed high.
I usually do not care for the lack of intimacy the restaurant brings. The tables are usually too close together and the wrap around mirrors make the seating awkward as you stare straight on at everyone’s image. It is a favorite among coupon clipping seniors though. The small plates are particularly worth trying.
We always have perfect service, they go above and beyond to make your evening perfect. Our waiter has taken care of us on several times, perfect, service. I have never disliked anything I have ordered. The steaks are out of this world. Thank you all so much, I love bringing out of town quests.
On a recent Saturday which also happened to be our Anniversary we arrived at our scheduled time to be seated in a cozy table for 2 on which was a small envelope wishing us a Happy Anniversary and a complimentary dessert.
Harold our waiter took our drink orders and presented menus. Drinks arrived in timely fashion and Harold approached to see if we had any questions about menu and we ordered. Bread and salads arrived - WG salad was delicious and we enjoyed bread with red pepper coulis. Our entrees arrived hot from the kitchen and were cooked to perfection like we ordered. Dessert and coffee were complimentary and so good.
Thanks management and staff for such a wonderful experience despite restaurant being full.
We live in nearby Bluffton and have made Wise Guys one of our go to places. We had Sam for a waiter for the third time and he is a delight. Very attentive without intruding. Cocktails are always amazing. I had a Hendricks martini that was made to perfection. My wife had a glass of riesling from their extensive wine list. Never a complaint there! I had the special tuna preperation for dinner and my wife had chicken with artichokes, a regular on the dinner menu. Both were excellent. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Food is always impecibly prepared and the service always top notch. Hightly recommend it.
The drinks were exceptional (as always). Shirley had the Beet salad, I ordered a wedge, both quite good. I ordered the Prime Rib, my mistake was ordering it "medium rare"...next time if I order the Prime rib again, I'll ask for medium temperature. Our waiter was very good.
Excellent early bird menu it’s many choices and great price. House red wine was enjoyed. The filet mignonette with crab cake was excellent as was the meatloaf dinner. My dad said it was best he has had and was a large portion. Desserts were very good. The chocolate fondue must be shared there is so much. The restaurant is quiet and they can seat small or large parties. Unique small plates are also on the menu and available in the bar area which has a lot of seating.
The food was above average; but some seating is poorly placed, and you can get a lousy seat. We happen to get the far corner table again, must be were they stick 2 people all the time. My spouse had a view of me, and a wall of mirrors. Getting a drink wasn't the easiest thing, thank goodness management had an eye out. Overall the food was very good, but I think next time I will dine in the bar area. The pizza appetizer was very good!
Wise Guys is always at the top of their game, a testimony to Tony and Sandy to let their success slide, ever. Known for dry-aged beef, Wise Guys is and always has been about so much more. Come in for the small plates, pizettas and the incredibly inventive nightly specials. The Grouper Defauskie entree cannot be beaten but so too the lobster risotto small plate. Gotta love it all!
Food looked like it came from a cafeteria - poor quality beef, institutional mashed potatoes, underdone slop for veggies. More like a rest home than a restaurant. Everything was over-salted which was surprising for a place that was primarily older clientele, clearly attracted by the low prices. Certainly not for the food. I wouldn neither recommend it nor return.
