WiseGuys Steak & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Food looked like it came from a cafeteria - poor quality beef, institutional mashed potatoes, underdone slop for veggies. More like a rest home than a restaurant. Everything was over-salted which was surprising for a place that was primarily older clientele, clearly attracted by the low prices. Certainly not for the food. I wouldn neither recommend it nor return.
Great food, especially the calamari and the crab dip. Best crab dip I've ever had. The sliders were okay. The service was fantastic. Was a little loud but we had no issue having conversation. It was my birthday and they treated us to a brownie!
Would definitely go again.
The food on this particular visit was not up to par. The calamari was coated and sitting in a pool of their sauce, like a salad with too much dressing. The vegetable sides were cold. The steaks were very good and cooked properly. Our cocktails were very good. It may have been an off night but when you are paying $$$ you expect them to deliver every time.
Reviews were 50/50 for this place but we wanted to give it a chance. Ordered the Tomahawk ribeye for two with truffle butter medium well. Our steak came out more than well done, so tough. It was difficult to even get your knife through. No truffle butter on top, when brought to their attention, they quickly returned with it but our steak was cold and it would not melt at this point. Onion rings were the only part of dinner I would say was good other than the service. I do not mind paying top dollar for excellent dining experiences and really wanted to like this place, we will not be back.
First time trying wise guys... celebrating birthdays. They gave both of us a complimentary birthday brownie with ice cream ( two birthdays). The stuffed mushrooms are excellent. Two of my party had steak and lobster which they raved about. I had filets with crab cakes which was also excellent . The potatoes and seasonal veggies were terrific also. The creme brûlée is super good!! As you can tell I loved wise guys! Can’t wait to go back. Two of my party were from Dallas TX and Pittsburgh PA... they both loved it. I’m really glad we tried it!

Sweet & sour shrimp calamari small plate...
My mother ordered this dish. My dad and I have a shellfish allergy and couldn't partake, thankfully. She said it was way too sweet and the slaw side was pointless. That night until the following morning, she had a violently upset stomach. That dish was all she had that evening, and I told her to get it because it was highly recommended. I feel guilty for that, but the restaurant should feel even more guilty and look into the fish quality for that night.
We could have easily made a meal on any single item we had for dinner. That includes the steak, the shrimp, the roasted vegetables, the truffle fries, the skillet potatoes, the brownie ala mode, or even just the cabranet demi glaze that covered our steaks. Everything was delicious!
The only drawback was the tight parking spaces for the cluster of stores where this restaurant is located in Hilton Head. We wish these spaces were more Sams Club sized.
Our group of eight seniors was seated quickly and our server was extremely competent and attentive. The entrees were outstanding. My 6 oz filet was prepared perfectly and was so tender. My husband had the Delmonico which he really enjoyed. There were no complaints from anyone.
Food was very good but my pork chop was very fatty. The meat minus the fat was delicious. The chef made up for it, treating me to dessert, which my group enjoyed. It was enough for the four of us.
My husband and his friend had steaks. They were great. My friend had scallops. They were good but she only got 4. A little chincy I thought.
Wow Wise Guys, I hope this was just an off night for you and not the new norm. We were early enough to be offered the early dining menu and 2 in our party of 4 picked from that menu and 2 from the regular menu. I picked the filet and crab cake combo and my husband had the meat loaf. My first course was the wedge salad which came deconstructed... no big deal except for the bacon which obviously was the very crunchy bacon bits probably from a jar....ugh! My filet was extremely tiny but nicely cooked. The crab cake however was obviously prepared in advance and reheated - very mushy and not very tasty. My husband’s meatloaf was just ok and a very generous portion. Unfortunately it was burned along the edges. He did love his first course of the crab soup. Our dining partners who ordered from the regular menu did not have any better experience. She ordered the shrimp and grits which again were topped with those nasty bacon bits. She said the shrimp were good but the grits were tasteless. He had one of the specials that night - fettuccine Alfredo with blackened scallops. The scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked but the sauce on the pasta was so thick it looked like paste. He took it home and said that he had it for lunch the next day after thinning the sauce with cream and that it was good.
I do have to make note that our server (Cecillaj was adorable. She was super efficient and truly the highlight of our evening.
Wise Guys we’ll give you another try because we are locals and eat out often at all the SERG restaurants and will hope that this truly was just an off night.
Great tasting food, superb steaks, small plates tapas-like option, and a no-hustle splitting of large plates, makes this restaurant a calorie friendly establishment that should appeal to most diners. Can be noisy at peak times, so time your reservations accordingly.
Love your food! We were seated in the back dining room at our request. Your food is always enjoyed! The noise level in the dining room is not conducive to conversation. Bar area noise is always highly energetic, but we hoped the back dining room would be more comfortable.
We went to Wise Guys for their Early Bird menu , which had many options. I had the filet with crab cake. Crab cake was small, but filet was perfectly cooked. Our server, Ashley, was superb!
Restaurant was not crowded at the time we went, and I would recommend it.
