I was very impressed with my visit to Winston. The restaurant is modern and beautiful. The staff did a great job and the food was excellent. Restaurants of this quality are not inexpensive but I would much rather pay a few dollars more and get a meal like the one I had here then pay a few dollars less and not enjoy my night out. You get what you pay for at Winston.
Very enjoyable dinner with family. Food, service and ambiance all outstanding!
Winston continues with great consistency in its food. Service is always top notch and professional. This is real find in Westchester.
Food, flavors, presentation of excellent quality as well as the service and wait staff, who were all very friendly and professional. Pacing was very good and we did not feel rushed as we enjoyed our guests' company and had great conversations. I left my pocketbook at the table and the hostess called and left a message on my home phone. We did return to pick it up and she had it by her hostess table. That was a very smart gesture on her part instead of just waiting for me to return to ask for it and easing my anxiety.
Besides excellent food hey offer a good selection of wine we could sample before ordering. The waiter and other personnel are well trained and nicely behaved.
The decor was warm, hip, and attractive, and a bit upscale. The food and wine were good. The one downside was that all the service staff, other than the hostesses were men, and none of them had good social skills--it felt like a bit of a sausage fest. Only some staff made eye contact, those that did did not smile or or respond much when engaged. Knowledge of the menu items was sketchy and wrong information was given. When I wanted to keep my coat, the manager said "common, relax. "I was relaxed, just a little cold. It was a presumptuous greeting for a customer whose business you want. The restaurant would do well to hire some female wait staff and have everyone learn the menu items (or be honest when they don't know them), and how to address customers to make them feel welcome and catered to--not in a subservient way, but in a respectful way.
PS--I don't usually see this sort of thing, so I don't usually have this sort of critique.
Another great and relaxed night and meal. Gracious and warm. We love it there.
Celebrated Valentine's day here. The food is extremely good and the dishes creative. Service is excellent.
We were nicely surprised by the delicious food and generous servings!
Overall, a good experience. Very nice ambiance and good service. Food was satisfying.
We have been to WInston's several time.
We have never had a bad meal and have never had a good server.
Again last night had to search for a waiter to take a drink order , the restaurant was not crowded no excuse, he watched TV and spoke with the coat check receptionist.
Every time we have dined there we have had trouble understanding the waiters Never see a manager around.
It will be a long time before we put up with this again
Winston never fails. Delicious food , drinks and service.
I was wanting a steak really bad. I ordered the filet without the peppercorns. It was perfectly seasoned and done ABSOLUTE perfection. Best steak I’ve had in years!
We’ve been there before and have never been disappointed. Love the ambiance, food, drinks, and wonderful wait staff. They also have a wonderful rooftop dining space in the warmer months.
Had another delicious meal at Winston. We sat at the bar where Frank took excellent care of us. I had roasted beet salad eith grilled shrimp. Perfect combo beets goat cheese balls arugula cherry tomatoes. Always very pleased with Winstons as our choice.
we had a nice birthday celebration for my husband. The food is excellent as is the service .
First time dining here was very pleasurable ....has a nice open airy ambiance as you enter without being too noisy. Has a very urban feel and wonderful menu which did not disappoint .
I love this place. The ambience is great and the food is always very well prepared. The service has improved greatly over the years which makes for a great dining experience.
A very good meal and experience. Service was exceptional. Noise level was tolerable, but only because we were in the back room with only three tables.
We eat out frequently and this was a particularly poor experience . We arrived early for our reservation. Winston's was basically empty. Hostess seated us downstairs in section near back entrance. when we got to table I asked to be seated upstairs because it was cold. She said upstairs was the same and it would warm up when the section filled up. Everyone that arrived after us seated upstairs. Service was slow. Dijon dressing on salad had very little taste. Chicken soup and mushrooms which accompanied steak were over salted. Steak was very good. Ate quickly so we could get home to a warm house.
Lovely restaurant! very good food and interesting offers on the menu. quiet dining upstairs. professional and excellent service.
The food was very good but the service was so bad that I'm not sure I would go back. We wanted to order drinks and at first it took a long time to get waited on and then no one ever checked back. We told the manager we had been waiting a long time to order more drinks and he didn't care.
Always delicious!! I have been many times and have not been disappointed yet!
This was our first meal at Winston. It's a beautifully decorated restaurant that uses a second floor space. The menu was well thought out. The service was excellent and the overall experience make this a standout Westchester restaurant.
Love this place definite coming back We stop there for restaurant week and the menu was delicious
We have often tried restaurants via "Restaurant Week". This was the occasion for our dinner the other night. One of our ways we judge the RW menus is whether the restaurant serves the food as on the main menu. Unhappily, this was not the case. The servings were changed, the portions diminished. This was not a fair trial of this restaurant. The food was well cooked and prepared. I enjoyed the "Brick Chicken"but it was missing the vegetables on the regular menu, with a replacement of tasty mushrooms and spaetzle gravy. My wife enjoyed the Scallops. There was a large wine list, and Beers on Tap. My beer was served with much too large a head! (a common dodge in some restaurants or perhaps just carelessness). Service was good once they found us. We sat for 10 minutes before being discovered, and then were handed regular menus, not the Restaurant week menu. Thereafter, service was attentive, food prepared well, delivered hot.
The kitchen seems better than the service. Not so good for a restaurant open for 3 years.
A selection of bar snacks and small bites was very nice, and would be appreciated at the bar or as a first course.
The restaurant is modern, attractive, a little too noisy, but pleasant. They encourage Wednesday dining with featured "Live Music".
We had a wonderful time. Sat downstairs near the bar. Live music.
Food and service always excellent. Pretty 2 floor restaurant with bar on 3rd floor, great for summer cocktails.
First time but it won't be the last. We had heard good things about Winston's and decided to take advantage of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week to try it out. Even though we live in lower Westchester, half an hour away, we will return. Not only were the four of us pleased with everything (one ate off the regular menu), but we were pleasantly surprised to find out that Sundays are half-priced wine nights, with a broad selection of excellent wines at very attractive prices. While the basic menu is a bit steep, with duck breast at $38, for example, there is also a three-course prix fixe Sunday through Thursday at $35 with some nice selections. Parking is a breeze, with the municipal lot right behind, another nice feature. So, excellent food, pleasant surroundings, good deals, and easy parking make for a terrific evening.
Our go to place. Never disappointing. Food was excellent, wine even better. Our waiter offered top shelf service.
After hearing from a friend about Winston we gave it a try. From the wine selection to the appetizers and main course everything was spot on. Service was quite good, and it is a very cool venue. We would definitely go back.
We thought Winston was very good. Noise level very high and no need for the loud music which is very distracting when you
Want to talk.
My husband and I had a lovely evening in Winston's on Friday. The food was great as always and we had good service. What I like about the food here is that the ingredients are allowed to be what they are and there are no needless sauces or melted cheese to be seen.
Loved the ambiance but the food was just OK.
Appetizers were very good, but the meal was nothing to rave about, my husband had the scallops and was very disappointed
Eager to try this place, but was underwhelmed by the service and ambiance. We were seated upstairs, where there are actual track lights (spot like lights) on the tables. I asked if they c ould be dimmed (there were candles on the tables, and the downstairs had a dimmer, more intimate feel) and the waiter said no. The wine list was nice, the bartender was attentive. The menu is limited, so if you aren't a seafood lover you will have limited choices. The waiter asked if we 'wanted bread' more than 45 minutes into our visit, and the table clearing/water filling was slow at best. I had a pasta dish and the heritage lettuce salad. The salad was floppy and overly seasoned with garlic. The pasta dish was very good, al dente and fresh. My guest had quinoa and said it was okay, needed some more layers to add flavor. Two small entrees, one salad and two glasses of wine came to $116. Did not see kids there, but it was after 7pm
A favorite of ours . The salmon is always to perfection. Great wines
We ate in the lovely, small space on the 2nd level. Sunday evening was the perfect time to try this restaurant. MANY half priced bottles from their excellent wine list on Sundays. Delicious specials that were very well priced. Hubby had a fantastic pork chop for his main dish, with the empanada appetizer. I had a tasty kale-arugula salad to start, with the salmon as my entree, perfectly prepared to my liking.
Dessert menu was hard to pass up, with great choices!
We will definitely return!
We had previously been to Winston twice last year and really enjoyed the food. This time we took friends and told how wonderful the food had been before, we were all excited. We were seated and at least 7 min went by before anyone came to the table to great us and take a drink order. Then the waiter didn't come back for our orders for another 20-25 min. We had been sitting at our table for 30 min + before we were able to order out food. I'm not sure what he was busy doing because the restaurant was 1/2 empty, it wasn't busywhat so ever. We order escargot which I thought was good others weren't super impressed. Then our entrees came the pork chop was good, the lamb chops that I ordered med rare, were rare and even blue in the center in 2 out of 4. It was extremely disappointing. I just had lamb chops out at another restaurant 2 weeks ago that were amazing and easy to eat. There's were such a disaster to even try to cut and were tough and uncooked by far!
At our prior dinners here that food was so great I couldn't find anything to critique. I've been in the catering business for 13 years
Quality food. Excellent preparation and presentation. Great rooftop outdoor space.
Great evening with friends and music! Love the roof top bar!
