Winsor House Inn
After dinner, retire to the Pub and enjoy an after dinner cordial or step outside for a perfect ending by the fire pit. During the summer months, the Garden Patio is open for your dining pleasure.
We love the Winsor House! Never disappoints and is one of our favorites! We had dinner with another couple so we chose to sit it the carriage room knowing it would be quieter then the tavern. Everything was great!
Fantastic old New England location. Reminded me very much of Concord Colonial Inn.
Loud bar area that seems to attract locals, but we were there for dinner.
Beautiful Colonial dining room with multiple fire places. Service was excellent. I had the George’s Bank Scallops with Risotto; i practically licked my plate clean. Wife has the Steak frites, cooked perfectly.
Now the dessert. I’m not normally a dessert guy directly after dinner but the Caramel Budino was arguably the best dessert I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth smooth, perfect balance of chocolate, caramel, and whipped cream. Come here to eat dinner just so you can have this. You will not be disappointed.
Lovely location for a special occasion dinner. Cozy and warm. The food was good and the service as well. Will return
Great food and atmosphere. Sat by the fireplace that provided a nice touch.
The food is generally very good and well prepared. We had the butternut squash and apple soup and the fish taco’s as appetizers. Both prepared very well and tasted good. As the main course I had the salmon and my spouse had a burger. You can not go wrong with either entree.
It seems that whenever they have a full house the kitchen has difficulty in preparing the food in a timely manner. Our servers were very friendly and apologetic. However, it is still frustrating and annoying that they can’t accommodate the increase numbers.
Had not been back to the Winsor for a while...for no particular reason, but decided to to with friends on this friday night. The experience was wonderful, from the drinks to the food, it was all delicious and served with a warm smile in a great cozy atmosphere...where you can actually hear yourself and have a pleasant conversation without yelling. We had delicious tuna poke and 2 had the short ribs that were tender and wonderful, the fish and chips was great...very healthy serving and scallops were done to perfection. We will be back..thanks for a wonderful night out.
I met my 90 year old aunt and my cousins for my birthday dinner on a late Sunday afternoon .
Dinner was wonderful!!
Our server, Brooke, was perfect and even laughed at our jokes!!
The Windsor has always been one of my favorites and my aunt was so happy to be in such a comfortable and
We can't wait to return soon.
New Year’s Eve dinner with special friends. The food was so disappointing. 3 of 5 ordered steak special that was as tough as a shoe. My husband ordered the short ribs that had NO FLAVOR. My chicken was ok but my salad was gritty. Best parts of what was ordered were the mussels and the creme brûlée. Considering our total was over $400 would not recommend. So unfortunate as the service was spectacular as was the ambiance.
Excellent service and food hot and just the right portions. Dessert was delicious.
The dinning room doors opened directly to outdoors and were used so often, some guests put on winter jackets.
Another great night of memory making. Kelly was friendly and professional and the Statler Chicken sublime.
First time there, with friends. We were seated at our res time promptly and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The waitress seem a bit frazzled and stretched but she gave it her best and kept us happy.
As usual The Winsor House did not dissapoint, great food and service. Cozy environment with the fireplace going.
My parents 60 th anniversary was very special. Great value wonderful food and lover the atmosphere
We will certainly be back again. Being from charleston sc it was certainly just as good and the people were simply delightful.
Loved sitting outside
Menu was trimmed down significantly - not as many options
Very enjoyable dining experience. Took our two young granddaughters and they had a great time.
The food was great, service was a little slow but friendly.
Coming from Charleston SC it was our first time visit. We took my parents who live locally and it was simply a fantastic experience. Our wait person Angel made the night just perfect. The food was fantastic, the old historic building was what we were looking for and the location was very easy to get to.
The band was starting right when we were leaving so we did not get to experience the music since we drove back to Boston.
We will be back and I am sure my parents being from Marshfield will be back very soon.
This was the best meal I’ve had out in a WHILE! Went with my mom for a nice dinner- and we were so impressed by the nice greeting we received by the hostess, quick seating and very accommodating to our requests. Our server, Brooke, was just phenomenal. We would go back just to see her! We got oysters, buratta salad, fish tacos and scallops. The scallops were perfect. Everything was delightful and we can’t wait to go back!
Lovely evening with friends...the food was excellent- especially the bread! Our party was seated immediately with reservations on a weekend. The service was great. AC was a little overly cool, but that is my only complaint.
The wait staff were very friendly and it is a very cozy restaurant. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line our order got lost and we waited about 30 minutes before our waitress came back and (very apologetically) informed us it would be a while longer. On the plus side, the food was excellent when we got it and they did comp is two glasses of wine for the wait. Overall it was a good experience and we're would definitely go back.
Yummy oysters, especially on Wednesday at special price.
Wait staff was non existent.. but busboys were great
I went really wanting to like it this place but was disappointed nothing great. I have nothing bad to say just wouldn’t go back
We had such a great anniversary dinner here. The food was delicious, the drinks outstanding, and the ambiance spectacular. I loved that they had an outdoor fire pit to relax at after dinner with Smores. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back!
The food was delicious, especially the chilled soup selection and everything was nicely presented and perfectly cooked. the decor is New England countryside, comfortable and attractive. The service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
Pretty standard fare but well done and priced reasonably for such a nice setting. Would recommend to a friend. Will be back.
Perfect summer meal in the garden at WH.
The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive enough. Many good choices at the bar for wiskeys, but not a complete bar. Beer and wine choices are adequate. Adequate choices for the food. We had a very enjoyable meal two weekends in a row.
Very pleasant setting on outside patio, interesting special cocktails, burata salad with fresh peach very tasty, particularly liked the fish tacos
My fish tacos were border line edible. I would have sent it back had I not been hosting a business dinner. I keep going back periodically to try to support a local business and it’s been about 50/50. They need to either lower prices to be consistent with mediocre food, or raise food quality and service to be consistent with price.
We've been going to The Winsor House for decades, and the introduction of a new chef some time ago truly improved the place. This last visit, however, the food seemed sub-par and the server was pretty inflexible (or maybe it's the kitchen). We'll return, but our visit with out-of-town friends was disappointing.
We've dined here before and always enjoy the food, service, and historical setting.
The servers were occasionally confused in that they 3 times tried to deliver someone elses food to our table. The cod we ordered was over cooked and tough. The chicken curry was very good.
Cesear salad extremely small and I'm not sure there was any dressing on it?
Burger was good. Great fries.
Great birthday dinner at the Winsor House. Will definitely return!
Went for Mother’s Day dinner (5pm early dinner). When we arrived the hostess said they only had a prix fix BRUNCH menu available for $52 per person! You would think they would switch out brunch menus after noon or so.. The restaurant was empty so I don’t know why they needed prix fix. Two people (one being a Mother) at our table ordered the salmon and both plates came out raw - we had to send them back. Two new plates were brought out 15 minutes later. Nothing was taken off the bill.
Another large group came in and almost left when they were also surprised about the brunch menu being served at 5-6pm.
Food was good once it arrived but we were all very disappointed in the overall service. I will not recommend.
A friend and I went to the Mother’s Day brunch at the Winsor House. It was absolutely delicious! A nice prix fixe menu was offered. My friend reported that the crab cake Benedict was delicious as was my Belgian waffles with fruit. We both had the scallops w risotto which was amazing. The bread and butter was even great. The chocolate mousse was probably the least successful though still tasty. It was more like chocolate pudding than mousse. They also included a Bellini with fresh raspberry purée which is was so good I had two! Sadly, they didn’t seem too busy which was a shame because for the quality and value, it was a great deal.
Horrible service never go back, took forever for them to take our order. Then took a very long tome for food to arrive which was just average.
