Winflo Osteria Ratings and Reviews
My pasta with shrimp was too salty. Also I called ahead and asked if we could
Change our reservation from 4 people to 6 people and they said no. There were at least 5 empty tables the entire time we were there so I don't know why they said no! Disappointing .
Food was good, as always but we were given what was undoubtedly the worst table in the restaurant, next to the door to the outside that was opened repeatedly by waitstaff and by diners entering the restaurant. We were told our reservation did not apply to any of the empty outside tables but there was at least one other table for four inside the restaurant and away from the door. Lots of door slamming interrupted what otherwise would have been an enjoyable meal.
Delicious food and drinks. Service was poor (the waiter didn’t seem to have much time to attend to us, had to ask for plates to be cleared and water refilled, took forever to pay our bill...). Tables are very close together inside, so it was difficult for us to have a conversation over the our table right next to us).
My Cannelloni was pretty darn good, and the cocktail I started with was delicious. My daughters spaghetti with Marinara was very plain, but in fairness, we are talking about spaghetti with marinara which can't be too exciting. The waitress was very sweet but also very unavailable. The service is what dragged the review down
Great atmosphere but downhill from there on a Sunday night. Our party of four ordered three different pizzas. One was so cold it was just sent back. Another was lukewarm but edible. The third was fine. The lasagna came out hot and was very tasty. Overall, very understaffed with what appeared to be only 4 wait staff serving the entire restaurant, including the outside. Servers were very friendly, just stretched too thin. This place gets good reviews overall and we were excited to try it. Maybe we just hit it on an off night.
Not good... we waited at the hostess station more than 10 minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant with no restaurant personnel present. I even went in search of someone a few times as I was embarrassed to be waiting so long with friends we had taken their to dinner. As the time drug on, I went to the bar to ask if there was a host to be told that he would be there. We saw "he" looking in the window at one point from an outside area.
We have been several times and found this to be the worst experience yet. It was quite embarrassing and frustrating. It continued with the waiter as we were finally seated regarding his understanding of their cocktail menu and what they had in stock and not for cocktail Ingredients. A few trips back and forth to the table to discuss whether or not they had blood orange liqueur on hand or not. Both drinks called for it but they could not make one drink but could another.
In need of better management and front of house training.
I was looking for an Italian place for my partner's birthday. Simple right? Well I had a few parameters: something new, not to "snobby" (in terms of pricing and ambiance), varied menu (a lot of places had very limited menu selection, were mostly seafood based and my beau does not really do seafood etc.), somewhat centrally located and eclectic.
This place was all those things! It felt like a true gem, would definitely go back! The wine selection, menu and service was all lovely. The ambiance was "shabby chic" with great lighting and a beautiful bar setup. Yes Yes.
Everything was wonderful. The food was outstanding. I dinged the service because we had to wait close to 45 minutes for our lunch to be brought to us because there was a huge order to go that was ahead of us. Granted we ourselves had arrived about 20 minutes prior to our reservation, there might have been a better way to handle that. Leaving Austin to return to our home in San Antonio about 45 minutes later meant that we ran into an accident on the north side of San Antonio which delayed us a further 60-90 minutes. But the food was great and our waitress was very nice and courteous.
Had such a great date-night dinner here and will definitely be coming back. The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is so cozy and intimate. My pasta dish (Scallop Carbonara) was out of this world and may have been the best carbonara I've had yet... scallops were cooked to perfection and the pasta was al dente. I can't wait to come back to try it out for lunch (pizza!). I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants laid-back Italian food with great service and a cozy setting.
Horrible experience...my husband and I got seated and literally never got waited on. We waited for someone to help us for over 15 minutes and no one came. It was as if the waitress nearby was avoiding eye contact with us and never even asked us if we had been helped. I would not recommend going here.
We had a lovely dinner with great cocktails, appetizers and main course! But the absolute best part was the live music intimate acoustic show downstairs with Tom Meny and Rob Baird. What a great venue to get up close and personal with some very talented Austin musicians. A must do for live music enthusiasts!!
Great food and ambiance! Everything was great except for unwelcoming hostess that refused to change our table to a more secluded one when there were spots available and we showed up on time and before others with the same time reservations. Other than that, food was fabulous, our server was attentive and that was worth staying. I am sure we will be back again!
It took quite a while before our server came to get our drink orders. We had just walked from parking and it was near 100 degrees outside, so we were in need of a refreshing drink.
The food was fabulous.
It's a small place and was packed. Very hard to hear each other talk without yelling.
Not sure I'll be back. Burrata was more like a ball of basic mozzarella - not gooey classic burrata. My friend order the pasta primavera with marinara because, as she explained, she couldn't have cheese. Her pasta came out doused in grated parmesan. The manager quickly took it away for them to remake. 30 minutes later, she still didn't have her pasta, so she asked that it be packed up to-go. Bummer that we all ate while she just sat there and never got her food. And the spaghetti and meatballs hardly had any sauce.
