Winewood Ratings and Reviews
I wouldn't recommend this place. The atmosphere is very nice but that's about where it ends. At some point during the meal, our waiter stopped taking care of us and started helping another table while another waiter jumped in and was now our waiter.
The wine was nice but VERY pricey for the quality. The main meal (sea bass) was bland and unimaginative although it was cooked nicely. The risotto wasn't really risotto, it was just basically a saffron rice. There was no creaminess or luxuriousness of a normal risotto. Overall, disappointed in this whole meal.
One glass of wine, one main dish, and one appetizer totaled $85. Definitely not worth it!
Mediocre, to be honest. I will say it does have great ambiance - great fire displays and cozy seating - loved that! Food was sub-par though... we started with calamari which were more of chunks of calamari vs. the small pieces you're normally used to. If it were seasoned better it would have been good but you end up chewing chunks of plain calamari for most of the time because there's nothing to it. My friend got the chicken cordon bleu and said it was really good, so that's a plus. I got the trout... super boring & non-appetizing. Trout itself was seasoned lightly with salt & pepper which was decent, but not mind-blowingly amazing either. Asparagus was not fresh & the balsamic drizzle on top did not taste right/was not the correct flavoring for the dish... it was dismal. Service was just flat out awkward... it's like the guy didn't know what to do with 2 girls having a conversation. Wine was good - always a plus. Overall it wasn't the worst, it had its perks! But it wasn't a stellar meal either like I was hoping.
My first time was Oct 29,2017 meeting friends for brunch! Such a fabulous setting with a fantastic staff we extended thru dinner. It was a great gathering place for old friends to get caught up and feel as if we were on our own terrace with a private chef enjoying life! Winewood is my new favorite gathering place!!
Always great food and our server was awesome!! Can’t remember his name but he was a tall and dark hair with glasses and we were back in the room to the left. We were there for Sunday brunch. He was very attentive and very nice. Love brunch there! Always so yummy!
At Winewood for a business dinner. Pretty crowded for a Wednesday night, but the team at the restaurant seated us right away. Very fun and polished atmosphere. Can't say enough about our server, John. He was fun, timely and attentive.
Drinks and drink options were pretty good, maybe a little pricey. The quality of the food, especially the entrées were good, but I do think they should make some changes to the presentation and also the quality of the sides. Basic white plates with simple main/side piling of food is not very impressive. Even the salad I ordered looked like something I would get at a TGIFridays, not a high-end restaurant. Detracts a bit from the overall value at their price point.
Room was a bit loud, but it was peak time busy. I would recommend for a business lunch, maybe a weekend date night or birthday party.
Overall excellent, only a few minor things. The steak was juicy, moist and seasoned to perfection, only minor ding was asked for med rare and received med, but was still delicious. The potato as gratin was cheesy and creamy just needed a touch more salt. Husband's ribs were fall off the bone, just wish he had been able to trade out the mac and cheese because he isn't a fan so it remained uneaten. Friends chicken was perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful. There was an extensive wine list and my husband was pleased with the beer selection overall. Our waitstaff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Over all would be a 4.5. Will come again.
