Winewood Ratings and Reviews
Had the lobster ravioli and was expecting mushrooms and basil in sauce and at least a big piece of lobster sauce was paste and it had hard to find lobster no mushrooms or basil shrimp was good but that's it we also had pork chops they were really nothing special
I went here for a friend's milestone birthday party. I arrived earlier than my friends and sat at the bar as I waited for everyone to arrive. The HH prices are amazing! The food (rack of lamb) was exceptional! The cocktail drinks were also great! Robert our server was attentive and friendly. We will be back here again.
Went here to celebrate our anniversary. It was a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy. We had a great waitress who gave us excellent service. Had the sea bass special, which was delicious and they gave us champagne. The only negative was there was a crying baby two booths over. I still can't understand why you would bring a young child to a nice restaurant. Get a sitter. Other than that, it was a very nice anniversary dinner and I would recommend this restaurant.
I had higher expectations from this restaurant than I experienced. My husband and I were seated in the outdoor patio, surrounded by several families with small children. The noise level was high, preventing us from having meaningful conversation. But the food- very underwhelming. We had steak and scallops, both of which were just not that good. The waitstaff was attentive, but did seem to rush us through the meal. Unfortunately, we will not return.
I've reviewed Winewood before, but I wanted to again say that this place is my go to for any special occasion, business meals or just a great place to get a quick bite. Absolutely love that it is 6 min from my house and is a place that I recommend to others, all the time.
My husband and I were there with another couple for Restaurant week. The menu and food were great. Our server did a good job despite the very busy evening. My only issue was that we were a table of 4 and were automatically charged a 28% gratuity on our check. This was a disappointing way to end a very enjoyable evening.
We took our 4 children plus my oldest daughter's friend to have one 'special ' night out before the oldest leaves for college.
As a family of 6, we rarely go out and if we do, it's usually an inexpensive option . However, this was a big event (she's going far away to school), and we wanted a very special meal. We have been here for anniversaries but never as a family. After learning there was a fantastic kids menu , we decided to make this the place.
The tenderloin bruschetta was amazing---even the youngest loved it. The wine and top shelf liquor excellent and main dishes perfect. But the best part--the cell phones never came out!! The fun atmosphere, excellent food and conservation together was preferred. My wife and I didn't even say 'no cell phones'--it just happened. I know this may not seem like a great reason to choose a special occasion family meal, but parents of teens and pre-teens get this.
It was a high bill, but we will have memories of that 'farewell dinner' forever.
My second visit to Winewood and I will go again. You can get reservations and they are a must for Sunday brunch. I was promptly seated and the server just magically appeared. I ordered a drink, but was waiting for my date to arrive. As she sat down, he appeared again and gave her a menu. We ordered and the food was delivered in a very reasonable time. They were BUSY as this was high time Brunch. The noise level isn't bad, compared to other places serving brunch, so the conversation was easy. There was a jazz duo playing up in the bar, so the music wasn't intrusive either. The visit just worked. I'll be back.
We have dined there several times but were disappointed this time. Went for Sunday brunch .We were using an E gift certificate given to us as a gift which my daughter had purchased on the Winewood website. We were told that it was only good for their companion restaurant. After the waiter talked to the manager they did finally take it. My husband ordered the chicken fried rib eye which he was very disappointed in. We have always liked their food but this was a bad experience. Very disappointed.
From the moment you walk in you fill the richness of the Wood, wine and food. The menu is easy reading, descriptive and it was easy to make decisions. The featured dish was a filet topped with blue cheese and applewood bacon wrapped shrimp. The steak was a prime cut done to order, perfectly. We also ordered the bone-in double cut pork chop with sweet potato mash and salads topped with a sliced filet. This place is great for celebrating life. Wine selections pair nicely. Service was attentive and a team effort with special attention provided by the lead server. It is a short stroll down Main Street to walk after dinner and experience nostalgic downtown Grapevine. Your friends and family will be glad you visited.
We had a dinner for a special occasion on the patio and it was extremely noisy, so much so you could barely have a conversation. I was told that the patio was temperature controlled and it was very warm. It is july but I still expected it to be cooler given the fact that it has an air conditioner. Then I accidentally left behind a bag with some party decorations under the table and when I called back I was told that they hadn't seen them....I find that highly unlikely, especially given the fact that they had all my contact info from the reservation and could have called me right after to let me know that I left them. The food was decent but nothing extraordinary. Overall, I was disappointed.
We were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary with a large group. We had a wonderful time. Food was great. Atmosphere was great but the service truly put this restaurant over the top. I don't remember our waiters name. He was outstanding. He really took a personal interest in our group and worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect for us.
Stumbled upon this gem last night while on a mission to satisfy a late night craving. I booked a reservation on OpenTable, missed my exit and made it there 18 minutes late with only 12 minutes till Kitchen closed at 10pm AND THEY STILL LET ME IN!!!
Our host checked me in and reassured me that all was well. First of all this is a beautiful space with a hip & intimate ambiance that flows perfectly together! Our waiter Brandy was the epitome of excellence--she customized my ginger beer, fresh lime juice with mint and basil mock-tail to perfection.
I noticed that WINEWOOD offered a New Zealand Rack of Lamb served with Brussels sprouts (sauteed with white wine and garlic) and fingerling potatoes on the menu so HOW COULD I SAY NO!?! I added the mac and cheese as a side because WHY NOT?
I could smell the aromatic flavors of my lamb as it was being carried to my table.
It was cooked to perfection (medium rare)--each bite tender and juicy. The mac and cheese made from smoked Gouda leaves you wanting more. Simply put, i cleared my plate!
For Dessert, I had the key lime pie which had a sharp tart taste I absolutely LOVE!!
Overall, I had a fantastic meal with unprecedented professionalism and service that made this a memorable dining experience!
WINEWOOD is a wonderful place for special occasions, casual dining, catching up with friends and even corporate events!
THIS IS A FIRST OF MANY MORE VISITS!
Winewood is a great restaurant: the ambience was very classy without being snobbish. This is a perfect restaurant to have a conversation with another, or a group of friends. The service was very friendly and professional; Jacob was our waiter, and he did a fantastic job! The food was absolutely amazing! My friend and I both ordered one of the steaks, which were both delicious and precisely as we ordered them.
