THEY ARE PERMANENTLY CLOSED!!! There is no way to review them anymore BECAUSE THEY CLOSED
Wine Country Bistro was an outstanding restaurant but has closed. Open Table needs to quit accepting reservations for it!
Business was closed.
My friends and I gathered to attend a Salvation Army fundraiser and have a last hurrah as Wine Country Bistro entered its last week of service. For fans of particular dishes, like the burnt ends, you should be able to find them in the future via associated businesses Southern Fork Catering and Parish Taceaux. Likewise, some of the employees may be filtering to those. My advice is to go to the gorgeous patio during happy hour this week to help drink through some of the stock before they close at the end of service Saturday evening on June 15.
Excellent restaurant. They have a great and varied menu. Service was outstanding. Fried Oyster Caesar Salad was outstanding. Don't miss it!
Service and food was great. Would definitely do brunch again.
Mediocre. Service was good but food was so so. I had salmon with whipped potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes were worse than the boxed kind, the asparagus was just ok. Salmon was ok. My husband had a tenderloin which he said wasn’t that great. Sorry, we wanted to like it. This is the third time we’ve been disappointed, the other 2 times were for brunch. It’s such a lovely place that it’s a shame the food is just mediocre. I guess others must feel the same way because we were the only ones there except one party of about 12.
The service was great, the bar was great, the atmosphere was nice. This place really lacks on its execution of food and cooking techniques. Everything we ate (with the exception of the cheese plate) was fell overwhelmingly short especially when considering price. My husband ordered the special (Mahaffey pork chop and corn soup) and I ordered the yellow tuna, as that was recommended by the barkeep.
The porkchop was giant and very under seasoned. The vegetables served were not cohesive and it was almost puzzling to the taste buds. Just bland and unexciting. The corn soup tasted like Pace Pincante with some corn thrown in. VERY much a tomato salsa like soup with corn added.
Let me preface that I am well versed with fish and know how tuna is normally prepared: what was served to me was either frozen tuna, or tuna that was not very fresh. It had a very fishy taste and odd texture, almost grainy. I ordered it medium rare and it appeared to be cooked accordingly, but the meat didn't look like any tuna I have ordered. I literally ate one bite and did not continue.
The restaurant is in a great location and would be amazing if they could find some talented chefs. Everything served was subpar and overpriced. It was a really big let down.
Loved the ambiance of Wine Country Bistro, but did not like how my 2-year old was charged for a buffet plate. Age two and younger should be free. The food was delicious!
What a disappointment. Been to Wine Country many times, and was looking forward to Easter Brunch with family. Nothing on the website indicated the brunch was buffet or I would not have chosen to go there. Hate buffets and this just reinforced that. We arrived at 12:15 and the buffet had limited choices and the food was picked over, over-cooked and dried out. Rubber eggs and limp bacon. The grits and grillades were good, and the high point of this experience. Desserts were lemon bars and cheesecake that looked like they had been set on a table as an afterthought.
Service was again awful. Busser poured water from a foot above our three glasses and each time water splashed on the table and us. He was clueless. After bringing our drinks we had to flagged our waitress to get anything...refills, a needed utensil...except the bill.
The bill was ridiculous for the experience. I know Wine Country is expensive, but I expect to get my money’s worth. Did not happen.
The weather was perfect and we chose to sit outside on the patio which was absolutely wonderful! We arrived at 10:20am so it wasn't crowded. Would have been nice to get coffee upon arrival but we were told it was inside and not quite ready yet - but orange juice and a mimosa were great. No salt and pepper - nor sugar and creamer were on the outside tables - just an inconvenience - Would suggest some umbrellas for the two top tables located in the sun - but we chose a 4 top table under the canopy which was fine. Food was outstanding - great menu!!! Coffee was excellent. Cheese cake was perfect. Just wish we could have stayed longer to have another plate --- we were stuffed. Love the online reservation opportunity! Can't wait until next year!!
Reservations were easy to make through the web site. Seated quickly. Service was great by Mr. Bush! My pork chop was fab!! Getting to hear Haley Brooke on piano was extra special !!!
Exceptional service. Waiter was attentive but not a bother. Food prepared perfectly. Piano player is very talented and one of the reasons we’ll go back soon.
Wonderful server, excellent food. The duck leg appetizer was very tender and tasty. A touch noisy just because of loud talkers at a nearby table
Creative entrees fresh quality ingredients great service
Great food and service. Definitely have to try. Wedge salad was awesome.
Our table was reserved and near other tables, which is generally fine. One nearby group of 7 was extremely boisterous and someone played their phone's music loudly, making it difficult for us to hear one another at our 4-top. My salmon was undercooked and very luke warm, a huge disappointment. Even after asking it be returned to the kitchen for warming, it was not improved. Because of the lack of sides at our table, I was looking forward to filling up on the Bistro's dessert choices. I had to get the attention of our server and ask point blank if she intended to show us a dessert menu. This was after our dishes had been removed and we had been sitting for several minutes. My husband's creme brulee was not baked properly and was mostly soupy! The chocolate peanut butter dessert selection I struggled to even make a dent in because it was hard as a rock and I could not whittle down the contents to know what I was even eating. I must say, however, the Oregon pinot noir was a hit!
We want to extend our sincerest apologies concerning the issues that you have faced. We strive to create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for all of our guests, and we missed the mark here. I will address the food issues with the kitchen, no one should experience that when going out. I will be having a discussion with your server about the poor service you received. You can email me directly at email@example.com o m, we look forward to hearing from you and earning back your business.
We started in the bar, as usual, and Matthew and Christy were perfect. The drinks are fast and well made. The atmosphere is welcoming and easy.
We moved to the dining room for our meal. I’m sure we were the most energetic table in the whole place. The water was kept full and our food was timely. The Brussels Sprouts appetizer was magnificent, as always. Many of the dishes are great.
I only wish they’d stop changing the menu every year or so. I love so many things that seem to disappear.
The Bayou Belles absolutely loved our experience. All who were in attendance said they wanted to come back again. Thank you for a great experience. We will see you all again.
Difficulty cooking filets as ordered. Requested 2 well done (no pink) filets. After 3rd cooking time was still red and bleeding.
Excellent host and waitstaff. Great ambiance. Really good food. Try the sweet potato pancakes!
Quiet evening celebration for my mother’s 88th birthday. We were seated promptly to our table at the requested reservation time. We have always enjoyed the service, the ambiance and the food at Wine Country. The menu items have been changed and or updated since our last visit . I was disappointed that your duck entree no longer has the greens and cornbread as a side... that was my favorite entree and I would always order it. I did order the duck entree for my meal, but it was not as good as the previous duck entree that you had on the menu. My mother got the chicken entree. She thought the chicken was very moist and tender. There was something on top of her chicken that was black. It looked and tasted burnt. My friend ordered the Shrimp and grits and she thoroughly enjoyed the meal
We had a good meal, but it wasn’t as good as to previous meals at this restaurant. Don’t know if you have a new chef or if it was just an off day on our particular visit. There were very few patrons in the main dining room at the time of our reservation, but the bar area was packed.
Samantha was so attentive and personable. Food was excellent as always
We had a great time at dinner! The casa Rita is amazing! Cheese board was beautiful and tasty.
The perfect place for any occasion!
Fantastic menu! Food doesn’t miss anything, great steaks too. Great atmosphere.
My family and I went to Sunday brunch and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! There was festive christmas jazz music playing in the background, the food was delicious, and they accommodated our group of 6 with no problem. Will be back soon!
Service and food not near as good as it used to be.
The menu has recently been updated and now has no vegetarian options without making changes! They then only had one hot option has everything either contained meat or chicken stock! Very disappointing as Wine Country was one of my favorite lunch spots!
I have to admit that I opted to choose Wine Country Bistro for a work-related dinner. I had never been to the new location (the old Guisseppe's) but not-so-fondly remembered a similar type dinner at the old location. In that previous visit the only positive thing I could say about the food was that it was mediocre at best.
I was pleasantly surprised by the dish that I did order at this new location. Overall the dish was flavorful (pecan pesto pasta)....... just not much of it......a cupful of pasta and 5 small/medium shrimp......really? Presentation was very nice, however. The service overall was fine.
Where I was not-so-pleasantly surprised was that I had opted to order the Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake. As a Cheesecake Affectionado I have to say that Wine Country Bistro has opted to somewhat embellish their description a bit with regard to linking what was delivered to the table in terms of calling it "Cheesecake". Probably a more accurate description would be "Blueberry Cream Cheese Cookie" (at best). When it was placed before me, my first thought was "this is it?????? Where the hell is the cheesecake I ordered?" Below is a picture of my "Blueberry Cream Cheese Cookie" with the dessert fork for scale. It wasn't too much bigger than an Oreo! All of that for $9.50!!!!! Yeah, it did look sort of cool but heck, that ain't even close to anything that one would attempt to call cheesecake!
Great find with wonderful and atmosphere. Loved the piano player throughout dinner.
A beautiful lunch experience for a group of friends. Delicious food and great portions. Recommend.
Server did not relay or offer the specials. We just happened to overhear them from another server giving exceptional service to her guests. He was slow. Our food was not hot and he was not the one to bring our food out. There were only 2 tables being served in the entire restaurant. He should have been on top of his game and attentive. Nope. Unfortunately, the tip I left reflected the lack of service. I will return because the food was good, but I will refuse to be served by him.
Our waiter, Jordan, was awesome! He made the dinner event memorable!
Best brunch I’ve had in a long time! Highly recommend avocado toast and the shirred egg! Don’t skip dessert!
Server was courteous and friendly but not very responsive - never refilled water glasses, never refilled or offered to refill coffee. It also took a very long time to get the bill after handing over my credit card. The restaurant was reasonably crowded and the staff looked like it was having a difficult time taking care of all customers. That's poor management. My companion's meal was only warm but didn't want to send it back for fear it would take too long to get it back and because my meal was good and properly heated and neither of us wanted to eat alone. I saw only servers and their assistants - never saw anyone in management who could have asked about the food or service.
great wait staff which was much improved over my last dinner. food was served at correct temperature and only complaint was overly salted mashed potatoes.
This was my first time for brunch at Wine Country Bistro, and it will not be my last. The menu has items to suit most people, and it offers some choices that I haven't seen elsewhere in Shreveport (i.e. shirred eggs). The tables are spaced far enough apart to allow for conversation without shouting at one another, and the overall atmosphere is upscale and comfortable. Our server, Dylan, was attentive but not intrusive, with a very pleasant demeanor.
Entertaining out-of-town guest from Kansas City. They were most impressed
Very good brunch experience.
