Wine Cask - Santa Barbara Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food and service. We'd been numerous times, but never taken family. My inlaws loved the ambiance and felt it was the perfect choice for Christmas Eve dinner. All of the desserts were incredible, especially the bread pudding and lavender creme brûlée. Thank you for making our holiday special!
Overall a nice quiet place if you're looking for a lower key dinner. We had issues with service that made the experience as a whole uncomfortable without going into too much detail. Our bill was over $400 and just felt the level of service needs to be elevated at that price point. Food was ok, the menu seemed well versed but some of the items missed the mark (fish dry, steak not cooked properly, etc) We've been here a couple of times as locals and hope it's better the next time around.
"We love the smooth feel of this place, the lights and the decoration: elegant with clean lines, an a sophisticated touch, like the mirrors. We returned to the Wine Cask, and we will when visiting Santa Barbara. The salad was fresh and delicious, and we both chose New York strip, just perfect! mine medium, the other medium well, both of us got exactly the point we like. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
We visited the restaurant for Thanksgiving and found it totally enjoyable. The food was nicely prepared and presented well and we appreciated the non-traditional (not Thanksgiving) items included on the menu. The bread pudding and the fig gelato were fabulous.
We were there to Celebrate my Birthday. The waitress was really sweet, but our food;
soup, salmon, and duck were cold. The Halibut too salty. My daughther did reorder, (again), a steak and it was perfect. Service was slow, may acount for the cold food. Three of us had to send our meal back....I went home hungry.
Very quiet, romantic ambiance on their patio. Great service, excellent wine and cocktails. Knowledgeable staff - very helpful in describing the dishes. Pacing of the dinner was perfect, never felt rushed or neglected. Highly recommend for a special occasion or date night.
Outstanding in every way. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The Branzino was delicate and a perfect pairing with the grilled corn accompaniment. The servers were knowledgeable about food and wine, making very good recommendations. We enjoyed a lovely evening. Thank you!
I took my daughter here for her 21st birthday lunch. Our salads and wine were great, but the service was rather slow. I've eaten here several times before and this was the first time I experienced this, so I'm hoping this was just an off-day. The Wine Cask is a great restaurant and I recommend it to friends and out-of-town visitors often.
We did the chef's choice with wine pairings and it was just ok. Too many courses and some of the dishes we just really did not like. If we were to go back, I think we would just order a dish from the menu to more of our liking. Wine pairings were well done, but after 5 courses and 5 different glasses of wines, you just feel over indulged and borderline drunk. So I would say the tipping point is by dish and glass 3.
We really enjoyed our dining experience at the Wine Cask. It had been a little while since we dined there last and during the meal we wondered why we are not dining here more often. The food was delicious and the wine list is outstanding. Our server, Joseph was very attentive and helpful in selecting our entrees. We are looking forward to returning to the Wine Cask soon.
This was a lovely place to spend a special birthday evening with family and friends. Food was very good and served with a beautiful presentation. Noise level was moderate and we were able to have a nice conversation. We were not rushed. Food options were very gourmet and we tried a variety of new options. Our only disappointments were with the pork and the spinach. The watermelon salad, New York Rib Eye Steak and lavender creme brulee were outstanding.
Haven't been here in a while. Was really pleasantly surprised by the service and the quality of the food. Went with spouse and a good friend for a bite after seeing a movie over on State Street. Service was friendly and very efficient. Food was great. Watermelon Salad was much better than I anticipated and the Halibut main course was perfectly cooked. We also had the Chicken and Hamachi both were also very good.
Will def come back again soon.
