The Wine Bistro - Westerville
We were out for a celebration and the wine bistro was a great choice. Excellent service combined with good food and great wine.
Love this place! Wonderful, knowledgable staff, great food and outstanding wine selection. We've been going for years and will continue to frequent the Wine Bistro.
Our first time at The Wine Bistro Westerville was pleasant. Our waitress while very personable, but not as knowledgeable with the restaurants offerings as I would have expected. We asked several questions and each time she had to go check with someone to be sure of her answer. Over the course of the evening this probably added 25 minutes to our time in the restaurant. It went something like this.. ask a question..she has to check…..5 -6 minutes later she returns with an answer……the answer generates another question…..she has to check…….5-6 minutes she comes back….rinse repeat. I know it’s a little thing, and we appreciated her wanting to “get it right” but for a place that is upscale middle class I was expecting the staff to be more knowledgeable.
On to the food.
We ordered the cheese board and it was excellent. A rotating selection of 5 hard cheeses, orange marmalade, fruit and bread were on the board.
My wife and I both had the “Butchers Choice”. 8 oz Durham Ranch Wagyu sirloin, shiitake and button mushrooms, port wine demi-glace. Asiago au gratin potatoes, grilled asparagus. Let me start with the beef. It was super tender and cooked perfectly (My wife’s was medium and mine was medium-rare). Unfortunately all I could taste was the demi-glace and mushrooms. Our steaks were swimming in it. I was disappointed and confused as to why you would cover such a good piece of meat with something so strong. The flavors would have married well if the amount of demi-glace would have been in proportion to the steak instead of covering and smothering it.
The Asiago au gratin potatoes were very good. Don’t get them if you don’t like Asiago cheese as it is on the assertive end of the spectrum. Our asparagus was cooked well but there wasn’t a grill mark of flavor to be had.
I say all of that and maybe I can be picky sometimes but since each entrée was only $23 we would consider going back. Next time we would be more specific with our order.
Our waitress was wonderful!
Food was fabulous; I recommend trying the Shrimp Risotto. Wine by the glass is excellent and my husband was even able to find one he liked. In the event you don’t find one you like on the menu they have lots to chose from on their shelves.
Me and my friends keep coming back. Awesome food and plenty of wine to go around. Definitely recommend!!!
Waitress messed up my order-thought I said Fresco instead of Pesto & served wrong flatbread. The correct (pesto) flatbread had to be made but my husband was finished eating until mine arrived. So much for an enjoyable night out! The waitress apologized but didn’t offer anything to make up for her mistake. Disappointing. I enjoy the Wine Bistro but service isn’t always the best and unfortunately this was the case again on Friday.
We go to the wine bistro often for a few glasses of wine and some light dinner usually. But for whatever reason, this is the worst experience we’ve had here. We had a reservation, got seated, and then nothing for over 20minutes after asking the host what’s up 10minutes in.
Everyone has an off night but this was ridiculous. We talked to the manager on our way out and she did apologize. Just know, if they have a table with people buying multiple bottles and dinner- you’ll be forgotten and overlooked.
I met 3 girlfriends for a very relaxing and fun evening at the Wine Bistro. The Bruschetta appetizer was loved by all and the salmon w/ jasmine rice & broccolini was terrific! It is our favorite place to meet.
Great food, great service. We ate too much. Our friends had never been there and they loved it. It was a great choice for a rainy Saturday night.
Excellent restaurant and great service.
Booth seats sit too low which means you sit too much below the table. I had to sit on my coat and was still too low. I noticed others having the same issue.
We had a great experience. The server was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and unique. The wine was perfectly chilled.
Great meatball...great wine and great service!
We frequent the Wine Bistro and always enjoy. This time our server was a bit "crusty" and impatient; might have been having a bad night. Otherwise all good.
Celebrating a birthday everything was wonderful ❤️
Flatbreads were over cooked and chicken sandwich was burnt. The waitress brought our bills without asking if we wanted anything else(I would have had another glass of wine) and she totally screwed up both of our bills.
Food was smaller portions than the many times I have been there before but with no reduction in price. Quality wasn’t as usual. Our waitress was great but after we had been there for a while, another waitress asked us to move to the casual seating area so our table could be used for someone else. I do understand this need but there were still many tables open. This waitress was just rude. Not sure if I will return anytime soon.
I enjoyed the afternoon with a few business clients here. Service was great as was the food. The soup of the day was out of this world and the crab cakes are a must!
Waited longer than should be for wine to arrive.
Server had to be reminded to bring wine chiller.
Food was very good!, as is usually the case.
Enjoyed our evening.
Very loud that night. Food was good.
Service was very good, all the way from the hostess to the wait staff. Food was lack luster, we had the Antipasto platter to start... the greens in the middle were not dressed - The Roasted garlic was not roasted enough and it was cool not warm, and the Braised Veal Meatball which tasted great but seemed to be over cooked as it lacked texture and was mush.
As an entre we shared the Smoked Chicken Tortellini, which lacked flavor.
So, really not that great from a food standpoint, but the wine was v/ good and service was great. :)
It’s always good! Great place. Great service. Love it!
It is a good place to go for wine and conversation. The service was good but The food is average at best.
Food and service was wonderful. Great place to meet friends.
The food was great, as was the service. Great pricing on wine , with nice by the glass selection.
Great service and we love the more reasonable portion sizes.
This plan came highly recommended. We are non-drinkers but the menu looked good so we decided to give it a try. Our app (lettuce wraps) was only lukewarm when we received it. The portion was tiny in comparison to other places. Main course was better but only just OK. Again, portions were small.
Our server was disinterested at best. I am not sure that we are the target demographic for this place. If I was drinking wine, I probably would be less concerned about the food.
Wine was great. Food was average for price point. Service was good although rushed for a slow night.
Great neighborhood destination, friendly service and good food. Very active clientele fun atmosphere
We have been here numerous times for special occasions. Even just for date nights. Love the food and the wine selections. Great wait staff!
Everything was great , food, service, wine! My only complaint was the temperature....it was cold. Now grant it it was brutally cold outside but it wasn’t much better indoors.
Seated promptly, excellent, friendly & professional service. Food served at the right amount of time between courses.
The food was delicious, especially the baked Brie! The service was friendly.
It was a fun time! Great food! Well seasoned
