Wine & Waffles
Fun place, good interesting menu, sharables, nice wine choices. Outside seating available, and dog friendly. One of the nicest places in alameda
Great food and atmosphere! We ordered the cheese & meat platter, lox on waffles, fish tacos, caesar salad, and asian salad, and it was all delicious. The only minor complaint I have is I added the chicken to my salad and assumed it was grilled but came out fried (not greasy and very crunchy). The chicken at most places are grilled when it's on a salad, but it was my fault to not have asked. As for the drinks, they were refreshing like the sangria and pear bubbly. Excellent customer service. This place is such a wonderful part of downtown Alameda.
The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect, and food food and Pearilini’s were delicious!
Seems like a great spot for drinks and live music. Our food and service was only average, but we thoroughly enjoyed the extensive wine list.
Excellent service and a great selection of wines. Very nice, low key restaurant. Plus live music on Fridays
My partner and I were in Alameda to see a theatre show, and arrived around dinnertime (with a reservation). We were sat promptly. The service was excellent all dinner, and the food was incredible! Very good options for someone who can't even eat waffles! Note- the sweet potato waffle fries were excellent! Cheese plate was perfect, and sliders were filling! Overall, we would have stayed for dessert had we any room left :) We will definitely be back!
Had a great time, but it was definitely more of a wine bar than waffles for the dinner menu.
I loved the ambiance! The food, the wine! It was all amazing. A perfect date spot
The food was excellent and so was the wine. It was a bit noisy as there was a birthday party in the shared space. Our waitress seemed a bit confused and/or trying to do too many things.
Friendly wonderful atmosphere good food value good customer service
Great food, service. Good wines by the glass. I'll definitely be back again for dates or friends get together.
This is our go to spot for a nice glass of wine and a tasty meal after a movie at the Alameda Theatre. The waffle sandwiches are delicious and the ingredients in anything we have ever ordered are always fresh. They have a good wine selection by the glass or bottle, and friendly, casual service. A great date night pick!
Friday night so it was super busy as expected. They overbooked the reservations or people from happy hour stayed longer than expected. We got to hang out a bit and ordered appetizers and wine before our table was ready.
We had a great time. Love the creative concept of waffles and wine. Excellent food. Ambience was soothing to the eyes and relaxing to the soul. It was like we reserved our own room with a window seat, lovely music, food was fantastic. Service couldn’t have been better-Hannah made our experience special! What a gem she is!
The two nurses from Chico, CA
Worth exploring. Good food made in Ole's kitchen next door. Not just wine and waffles but nice salads, appetizers and entrees. Five of us had a nice meal before an Altarena Playhouse show.
Service was attentive and friendly. Superior wine list and beer selections. Food was excellent.
Wine and Waffles is a unique, cozy and welcoming wine bar that is a wonderful addition to Alameda's restaurant choices.
I have been there about 5 times; the servers were very knowledgeable about the wine choices, the food options complemented the wines, and it is a very comfortable place to sit and chat.
They have live music weekend evenings. Even though the choice of music is perfect for the setting, because the restaurant is small, often one needs to speak up to be heard over the music.
Special reward: if you are a guest there, you can purchase full bottles of wine on their menu for take-out at a 15% discount ! This is great because not all wines they feature are carried in area wine and liquor stores.
My boyfriend and I had a great time! The mood was great, the playlist that was being played was really good and the bartender/host/server even hopped on the piano and played something. Next time I’m in town we will definitely be back! It was perfect for date night and the wine selection was great.
The food was mostly frozen and taste bland. The waffles were thin and did not taste fresh or like the flavor of waffles. It was not a good experience
Great spot and we’ve enjoyed the food both times we’ve gone. They give you good portions too. Their cheese plates are yummy and you get a huge chunk of cheese. Great service and good wine selection. This will be a go to spot for us
We have been there many times. There were 4 of us. Three of us ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich. My wife ordered the popcorn chicken. Our sandwiches came, but my wife's dish did not come until after the three of us were done eating. My wife complained to the waiter who just laughed it off. The live pianist/saxophonist combination was a nice background to our meal. It's just a shame that all 4 dishes didn't come out at the same time.
Will not be going back. After being seated, was "forgot about" by staff although seated right in front. Had to ask for menus and water. Calamari tasted like they were prob frozen. Looked like glorified onion rings from burger king. Steak crostini not good. Strips of poor quality meat o. Large pieces 9f baguettes-not toasted and much too thick. Wine was mediocre at best. VERY small selection if wines. No vintage yrs for the wine. Cannot pay me to go back
Fun experience but not a great experience. Menu options were hit and miss. Fried chicken and waffles were excellent, as well as the sangria. Very disorganized waitstaff. Saw lots of them chowing down in food at the bar and not washing up after. Oddest thing was dessert. Waffles with canned peaches and ready- whip, served with a spoon. When we asked for forks, our server said that the restaurant was , " unable to locate forks at the present moment."
Very nice live music. Good happy hour pricing. Mainly fried foods/appetizers. Happy hour wine was fine.
Great concept..after all, who doesn't like chicken n waffles? Limited wine list, and they were out of two of three choices...really? Only one server for the entire restaurant...really? Far better choices in the neighborhood, so skip this place.
This place is great for a first date it's quiet and has great food and drinks.
This was a cute little place. I picked it off a Google search for something in the area and I'm so glad I did! We went at happy hour. I've never had luck with happy hour menus, but everything I wanted to try was actually offered as s happy hour special. It was delicious! Loved the Caesar salad!
Had a very nice experience. Love the ambiance, the great service and the delicious small bites! I enjoyed my wine too! My best friend and I ordered the Meat and Cheese platter, shared the Lox Waffle and the S'mores Waffle! Everything was yummy!
This will now be my go-to-place to unwind with good friends who enjoy good wines, live music and delicious food.
The feel of Napa at it's best in Alameda. Second time at the Wine & Waffle. Ken and his staff makes you feel like your at hm in their living room. We tried most of their appetizers, calamari, fish tacos, waffle fries, lots more to choose from which are all delish. Thank you Ken for bringing the feel of Napa to Alameda. See you soon for the Mac & Cheese.
Had a reservation for 2 before the Drake and Future Summer Sixteen show at Oracle Arena and needed a quick bite to grab as well as pre game on drinks prior to entering the arena.
Happy Hour menu is amazing and great portions, the wine flight mixed was awesome and I can only imagine the white one tastes like.
My husband got the local beer and had the chicken and waffles sandwich which was great. The happy hour timframe is very reasonable and we are definitely coming back here.
Service was great and they a very attentive.
Katrina was a wonderful hostess! Food and wine were excellent.
LOVE! First time having Waffle and Chicken sliders... they were the BEST! Happy hour is great. So reasonable. Wonderful staff and great ambiance. One of my top choices in Alameda!
Long overdue review..
This is a wonderful quaint 21+ bar-restaurant in Alameda with the feel of being in Napa (wine country) From the time you walk in to the door until the time you leave you get sucked into the ambience. Great appetizers from the Ceasar salad, chicken waffle sandwiches, calamari, etc. To many to list, which are all delish. The sangria was to die for. The owners and staff alone makes you want to return.
My wife and I started out with some tri-tip on a crostini. Though this was an appetizer, they could have just kept bringing us those until we were full. I then had a tri-tip sandwich on waffles which was good, but paled in comparison to the appetizer. The appetizer was just that good. We finished it off with a "drunken monkey" dessert that was quite good - but not as good as the s'more one we had the first time we dined there. The servers were helpful to us in ordering and selecting our wine.
Great food and great live music for Wednesday.
When there for Son's birthday. Had a great time, good was different and outstanding. Music was good. Wine was good. really cool place. I will be going back
Ambiance is nice. Sommelier sounds like he has memorized the selections. We ordered the calamari and chicken bites. I enjoyed them at the time because I was hungry but the next day I felt like it was food out of a box
Great service, wonderful wine flights, and fantastic live music!!!
Service is always good. My husband and I enjoy listening to the gentleman playing the piano. He has a beautiful voice. Food is good although our prime rib this time around was not seasoned as well as the first two times. But overall we always enjoyed our dinner at the Wine & Waffles. We like their wine choices, too.
