Juniper Restaurant and Bar at Hotel Vermont
The filet was delicious, and the salmon was cooked well but the potato in top gave it a very strange texture. We were seated right ext to the kitchen, even though there were plenty of other tables available, so we were interrupted by servers going in and out throughout the night. With that aside, I enjoyed my time there and would go again.
If you want basic, American fare, this is the place for you. The restaurant is large with multiple dining areas and a salad bar that provides the expected salad fixings. Predictable menu offerings with some of the choices presented in different size options (much appreciated by someone who can never finish a standard portion of prime rib).
Husband’s swordfish was dry and over-cooked, but my steak was wonderful. Salad bar and service were, as always, terrific.
The bacon wrapped scallops are pretty rad, they have good beers and great steaks. Always a good decision
Service was great. Food overpriced and not very good. Very old ambience, like we went back in time. Next time we’ll spend half the money somewhere else for hopefully a tastier meal.
Our son’s favorite restaurant. Salad bar is usually clean and tidy. This visit, there must’ve been a lot of patrons because several of the containers were nearly empty and the dressings were mixed together. The salad dressing area was pretty messy. Our food was good though.
Good food and good service. Skeptical about going back after the viruse that made so many people sick. It was definitely worth another trip there
We had a fantastic waiter. He was attentive and provided great service.
we usually dine at the Windjammer for special occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries. Or last visit was to celebrate our son's birthday. The menu offers something for everyone's appetite. Once again, we had a fabulous dining experience! And our waiter, I believe his name was Kyle, was great and very friendly.
There were no bacon bits at the salad bar. Not a big deal. But not sure why!😬
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area, the salad bar is my favorite! If I worked close by I would be there a couple of times a week for lunch, just so I could have the salad bar.
While in VT visiting family I went here twice. The burgers are awesome! The lobster tail and salad bar was good as well. Very enjoyable and friendly staff!
My Husband and I were very happy at the Windjammer. Our waiter was so friendly, dressed very nicely and had exceptional manners. The salad bar was very well kept and clean. The food was absolutely delicious. It has been a while since our last visit but we will definitely be dining at the Windjammer again soon.
Checked in and went up to the pub for a cocktail, the pub was extremely loud but, we were seated quickly afterwards. Adam was our server and was extremely professional and helpful! The prime rib was cooked perfect! I would go back again! Enjoyed the salad bar!! The cheese cake was delicious!!
Drinks were okay; a little more mix than the price would indicate. Wine was very good but expensive. Filet mignon cooked perfectly. We were seated where we asked which was good. Our server, Callie, was very good with service and friendliness. A nice night for sure.
Have eaten there every time our team is in town. Consistently very good food. Will continue to frequent the restaurant when we are back in town again.
Would only recommend because of salad bar, location and the something for everybody menu.. A steak is a steak. The waitress was cold and robotish(like a robot). I had Salmon with mashed on top. It was overcooked and the baked potato I got was the size of a football. Looked funny on the plate and was under cooked.. My dates steak was good. I will probably go back sooner or later but only because it is popular with friends and family. (I have been there about 50 times.)
Our steak came back over cooked. They happily made us a new one, but timing was completely off. I had already finished my meal by the time the steak came back, and they still charged us full price for our meal.
As always we had a fantastic meal, our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The large group we were seated near was very loud for the first part of the meal but left half way through, once they left it was as enjoyable as it has always been. They are by far one of our favorite places to go.
Considering the other dining options in the Burlington VT area, I will probably not return to Windjammer. It was a very busy Saturday night, and they seated us in a booth next to the salad bar = high traffic, lots of noise, poor ambiance. The food was just ok considering the price. I asked for my steak to be medium rare, it was medium. The rice was bland. Nothing about my visit compels me to return.
Our reservation was for 7. We arrived on time and went to the desk to check in. We gave our name and a woman said to have a seat for a few minutes. Ten minutes went by while we watched several other couples come in, waited a minute and then were called to a table. At 7:15 we saw a couple with a 7:30 reservation get called for a table. We went up to the desk and they said our name was not checked off. They apologized, and sat us immediately. My companion noticed that our table was sticky. We told our waiter who apologized that the tables are old and need to be refinished, therefore feel sticky. The salad bar was very good, our food came in a timely manner and our waiter was polite and attentive. My food was only lukewarm at best. My companion said his was warm enough.
Overall, the food was okay. My swordfish was a bit chewy and not outstanding. My companion liked his steak. Entrees run in the 20s, so prices are not too high.
The atmosphere was fine.
Food was great! price was good!! We will definitely come back again.
Wonderful dinner and treated very special by your staff.
Taking friends out to dinner and conversation.
We were all satisfied in all ways.
It was a wonderful restaurant to have dinner with a friend. Our food was delicious and prepared just as we requested. The salad bar is the feature that makes us choose Windjammer over and over again. Great variety for the salad and love the fresh bread and cheese boards.
When we were halfway through our meal, a large party was seated right in front of us. We were in a semi-circle booth. It felt too close and could not continue the private conversation we were having.
Fabulous dinner for 5, lobstercargo, steaks, desserts all fabulous with awesome service. We really enjoy not being rushed and the overall friendly ambiance.
Since we were only 2 for dining, we got one of the tables in the back of the restaurant in what can only be considered an after thought space in which they crammed 2 tables in a very small space.
I really like this restaurant but will probably skip it if i only come with another guest.
Food, drink selection and service are great!
A regular spot for my friends and me! Always wonderful!
I’ve always enjoyed the Windjammer never had a bad experience. There are probably other nice places to dine at but, why mess with perfection.
In town for College basketball, recommended by the locals.
We love the windjammer. Understandably the salad bar was a little less up to jammer standards hopefully due to weather and produce availability it is still the go to place for an awesome meal. Wi will always choose the jammer over most other places when given the opportunity. Our waiter was great.
Everything was very good but we were seated under the bar and it was too noisy to carry on a conversation..
my favorite restaurant disappointed me twice in the last two months. I always get some sort of steak, usually prime rib....and it's always terrific, not ordinary, extraordinary. These past two times, not terrible, but not up to their usual standards. I wouldn't post this if it only happened once, but this is twice in two months. This past time I had the filet and my wife had the ribeye. Mine was not that flavorful and even though medium rare, was a bit tough. My wife only ate half of hers. She didn't like it. Previous time she had a great meal, I ordered the prime rib (I tell every customer out of state to come and try the best prime rib in the state), I was disappointed. At any rate, they still have the best salad bar in the state.
I am always rooting for them as I grew up on this place, but am a bit disheartened.
I had the prime rib with au jus and the salad "boat" (which just means salad bar), my friends had the filet mignon topped with gorgonzola. Everything was delicious and done to perfection! The prime rib and filet mignon literally melted in our mouths. The abundant salad bar had many wonderful fresh choices. The wine list was comprehensive. I also had a lemondrop martini. Yummy! Our waiter, Tim, was friendly, helpful and attentive. It was a perfect evening. I highly recommend Windjammer. we will be back!
Had a nice dinner out. Service was friendly and timely. Food was very good, as usual.
The restaurant was very clean & very nice staff. The food was excellent as always.
Great salad bar, steak and seafood. We've been going there for 30 years and it never disappoints.
Great service and excellent steak and seafood options. Prices were very moderate. Excited to go back.
Will return to the 'Jammer time and time again. Awesome salad bar. Good food
Steaks were done a bit more than asked, for ex. (I ordered rare, came medium rare). I was surprised my sirloin looked more like a slightly charred filet mignon, and seemed under 11 oz. My wife's ribeye was tasty, but also done one level up (ordered medium rare, came medium). It was quite nice to have a card on the table congratulating us on our 39th Anniversary...(was also my wife's birthday dinner). Thank you for that touch.
