Food was good, a bit overpriced in my opinion, but perhaps not for the location / similar restaurants in the area.

This is one of our favorite Oak Park restaurants. ALWAYS a good meal, and always great service.

Back when they offered delivery through GrubHub, my wife and I ordered 5 or 6 times from Winberies every month. Since that stopped, we only drive the couple miles down there maybe once a month...and Winberries never fails to deliver an excellent meal and wonderful experience.

We always get consistently good food and service here. It’s comfortable seating, quiet, and food and drinks are a good value. The only advice I share is to keep the sitting area updated and clean. Our table rocked back and forth and the ambiance is starting to look a little tired.

Have never been disappointed with Winberie's so consequently it has become a "go to" in the Oak Park area. The service on our last visit was excellent; the server very attentive and pleasant. The food, as always, was tasty, served promptly so still hot, and cost very reasonable.

The menu is varied, mostly American. Go for the classic meatloaf. This is not your mother’s loaf. Ground Angus beef and pork cooked in red wine with sautéed mushrooms and onions, served with whipped potato’s and sautéed vegetables. The wait staff was very attentive. We were there with a friend and wanted to talk. The noise level made that possible and we were not rushed when we finished.

Everything was great except the new chicken pot pie. It was served luke warm and had way too many potatoes in it. Our drinks were exceptionally tasty. The spicy mac 'n cheese hit the spot as did the fried shrimp and chicken sandwich. After ordering pie, our waitress returned to tell us there was no pie left. Our creme broulee alternative was tasty.

Went to Winberies for a nice dinner with family and was not disappointed. The service started a bit slow, but picked up nicely once things got going. The food was delicious according to every one in the group, (there were 6 of us). Would recommend for a nice meal with friends or family or a date.

Got our table right away. Server provided a wine tasting to my friend, to make sure she liked it before ordering. Dinner arrived promptly and everyone like what they ordered. Warm atmosphere, quiet, easy to carry on a conversation with friends.

We were in the area for an event and decided to grab a bite to eat afterward. Being that it was a nice day out (albeit a little on the warm side) the restaurant was not very crowded. That coupled with free parking on Sundays made for a relaxing lunch.

We arrived a few minutes before our reserved time, and were seated promptly at a table with a street view. The server was attentive, and the food was excellent, with a very attractive presentation. We had dined there once before while visiting Oak Park, and would definitely do so again.
The only negative (and a minor one)...the restaurant mistakenly notified Open Table that we had not shown up for the reservation. The situation was quickly rectified with an email.

i had been here many times before but this evening was just.ok... the service was off as the staff seemed to be quite busy with the many empty tables.. there was lag time between ordering and receiving bread , but then eveything arrived with little time between salad and main entree... the food runners did not know what rhey were serving or who received rhe dish... and the waitress was not there ... she did not offer us coffee or desert, as we asked to see menu... the whole sunner seemed as if we were an after thought. perhaps because we were not ordering alcohol and our bill would be less than... while I will try afain as it is a neighbourhood place , i will try others first....

Both the turkey club sandwich and the fries were excellent, along with the service and the atmosphere. The Toll House cookie with ice cream was hard and lacked flavor. I hope to meet again there soon.

I have been dinning here for years, and this time it was friend from Indianapolis visiting who ate here with me 3 years ago and wanted to eat here again for his birthday. First question he asked our server about the food, she hadn't tried the park chop. I finally ordered the grapefruit cocktail, only to have her come back & say they were out. My friend then asked for a cosmo, she forgot to order it, took about 15 mins to get it. One friend wanted beer, asked if you had served any type of stout /dark beer, she said, Heineken &blue moon. She didn't mention the chimay beer. We finally ordered, birthday boy ordered the pork chop, after the order was turned in she came back to say you didn't have it. We got finished eating, she asked if separate or one check. Never asked about desert, but we wanted it, finally we asked if we can order dessert. She was a very nice girl, she admitted she'd only been working a week, but still she should know the menu better, as we asked her what the meals came with, "hmm, a veggie I think, as she grabbed the menu to check. Of all the times I've eaten here, this was the first time to get such poor service:(

Winberie's is a solid 'go to' place for us. It's close and the service is good. The food is usually very good but this time, almost everything was overly salty. The tomato basil soup was delicious but nearly inedible due to it's saltiness. They have great super thin crispy fries. But, I had to shake the excess salt off of them as I ate them. We mentioned it to our waitress who said she would tell the chef. Their mine has something for everyone and our vegetarian loves their veggie burger.

Dorthy the hostess helped me with a big birthday surprise for my brother, a Cherry Dr. Pepper cake. She helped me get our table all set up, then lead him to the table next to it with a plant hiding the cake. My brother was so surprised! Marisa our server was great and suggested the cold seasonal cucumber soup which was outstanding! Everything was perfect!

We usually love the restaurant and have been there many times. But on this day (Mother's Day early dinner) the restaurant was busy so the service was slow, our orders were incomplete, and it was a generally unsatisfying experience. It's understandable, I guess. But, just like everyone else, we were there for a special meal....and what we received was very average, even sloppy. We will try them again some time.

We've been here many times throughout the years. They were host to my parent's 55th Anniversary, and most recently, Mother's Day. The food is always fresh and healthy. The atmosphere is low-key, business elegant, and suitable for all but a beer bust. My mother's 90, my daughter's 12. Both left happy.

We were visiting Chicago from Toronto and was recommended by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to have lunch at Winberies. There were 11 people in our party and the restaurant was very accommodating. Our server, Calvin, was amazing and attentive. The food was very good, fair portions and well priced. I would recommend this restaurant.

The food was very good. The service was horrific. 20 minutes for the waiter to get to the table, early during lunch when not crowded. Waiter took a long time to bring drinks; made mistakes. Food took so long one person had to take it to go. Complained and received no apology or suggested restitution.

Eating dinner at Winberie's recently was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. There's zero ambiance. It was noisy (mostly babies crying and kids running around screaming...and this was on a week night). They screwed up my order (gave me everything I specifically asked NOT to have in my dish, due to food sensitivities). Then our server apologized for screwing up my order (which brought my wait time to eat to about a half hour), but gave us NOTHING off on our bill as consolation. Sigh... And last but not least, my food was hardly worth the wait (bland as all get out). To be fair, my husband did enjoy his meal.

Eat elsewhere, if you'd like a quiet, flavorful dining experience that won't be screwed up.

Wiberie's is a very pleasant, neighborhood, family-friendly place. A member of a small chain (the other shops are in Summit & Princeton, NJ; go figure), this is about much-much-better than fast food casual family dining. Service is absolutely fine. The food is NOT chain stuff; nobody is reheating stuff from the freezer. Freshly cooked, not trying for James Bard Awards, just serving family-friendly fare and executing it well.

Arrived early for a 4 pm reservation. Not many tables were full. Instead of asking whether we preferred a table or booth, they escorted us to a table smack dab in the middle of the room... which I dislike. So I kindly asked for a booth. There were plenty of big booths available but instead we were given a small one which, with four people and various appetizers on the table, became crowded and uncomfortable. Waitress was ok... nothing specific, just didn't particularly connect, which is no big deal, we were satisfied with the service. Salmon salad was excellent. Chicken Marsala was delicious, hamburger was also. So everyone was happy with their choices. Desserts were ok. We like eating in Oak Park so we'll probably return.

Been going here for years. Lately, food value has dropped. $22 for a small piece of salmon and one skimpy side. I was still hungry. Family was celebrating a birthday. Server asked the "Birthday Girl" if she would like "the dessert with a candle". No choice was offered and no price was stated. We were asked it we wanted dessert menus for the others at the table. We assumed the birthday portion was a restaurant freebie. The Nestle Toll House Pie arrived, it was half the size of the regular portion on the menu but we were charged for it! Time constraints did not allow for us to dispute the item then, but we were not happy.
