We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary, along with our future daughter-in-law's college graduation. When dining at The Willows, we always reserve a table on the outdoor patio. The Santa Ynez weather always cooperates, and it is such a different dining experience than sitting indoors. Domenic, our server, did an excellent job of taking care of us and tending to our every need. Everyone's meal was wonderful! We started with the Lobster Bisque, which is to die for, and surprisingly not listed on the menu. My wagyu steak was cooked to perfection and had that "melt in your mouth" quality. The Willows has a full bar with various specialty cocktails, along with an extensive wine list for dinner.
All in all, a truly wonderful evening! A bit pricey, but continues to be our local "go-to" restaurant for special occasions! It makes for an extremely enjoyable evening of dining and work in a little gambling afterwards!
The food was delicious! The room was cold. The server was so accommodating, pleasant and efficient. Elegant experience overall!
We had dinner at the Willows aka the Steakhouse at the Chumash Casino based on great reviews and as we were attending a show at the casino that night. The place is quiet and smoke-free - a delightful surprise. The service was very good and our waiter quite talkative, wanting to impress us with his knowledge of spirits, wine, and food. The "tapas" assortment of spreads for the breads was delicious. DH had the pork shank and finished every morsel. I had the pear salad that was delicious and asparagus risotto that was nice. There are no creative vegetarian entrees, but I expected this from the online menu. We tried the tribe's wine, Kiva, and it was forgettable - not bad, not good. I doubt that we would eat here again as the restaurants across the street in Santa Ynez and down the road in Buellton are a notch above.
Great food. Really awesome. Treat yourself!
The Willows continues to impress ... delicious food, fine wines, great martinis, wonderful staff, and beautiful views (during daylight) of the lovely Santa Ynez valley. For us, one of the best restaurants in Santa Barbara County.
We went to celebrate my husbands retirement. We were so disappointed in our service from Steven it put a damper on the evening. I will say the ambiance is nice and the food was really tasty and presented beautifully . It is very pricey though. I would probably go back thought and hope for better service in this fine dining restaurant .
Good food. Just disappointed in the menu. Didn’t match the menu on open table. A lot different things missing on the actual restaurant menu. The menu on open table is The Willows old menu. Which was a much better menu. Probably won’t go back again unless they bring back the old menu.
Fabulous, just fabulous.
Everything was fabulous, except the wait time to be seated - but it was a Saturday night - however the food quality made up for it and then some (41 minutes after my reservation time, if you must know).
Was expecting a great steak but was tough and not much flavor. For the price it was overrated. Service was very good and a good wine list.
Lovely evening. Food was outstanding. We'll be back.
i loved it for the 2nd time! atmosphere, food, service, i loved it all!
The swordfish was amazing! Yummy cocktails and Great service!
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The waiter completely ruined everything. I waited the entirety of an hour to order an entree. Afterwards our waiter avoided us . Not going back in the next decade!
Had the restaurant week menu there which was excellent and by far the best value in the valley.
Best food ever
It was restaurant week and they had a great menu for that . Food was quality , very tasty and beautiful plated . Staff was attentive and friendly .
Absolutely outstanding as usual. This restaurant has the best ceviche we have every tried and their steaks are equal to other steakhouses that charge twice as much. The caesar salad is also my favorite. The service is as excellent as the food.
Excellent food and our server Kaitlyn was great!
Everything was great. Peppercorn sauce for my steak was a little runny but it tasted good. Only complaint is that it seems to be high traffic for loud employees. Not sure it it’s on the way to their break room or what. Will be back for sure.
It was a wonderful thanksgiving feast with amazing friend and wonderful family. We had a private room all to our selves. The dinner was delicious. Highly recommend the dinner with the wine pairing. Thank you all who catered to us. We appreciate it.
Good food, nice portions
As usual, the service (Irma) was fantastic, food was very well prepared and tasted great.
Will be back soon.
Great food, beautiful presentation, innovative cuisine, excellent service
Great place to go to celebrate something. Excellent service and food. One drawback is having the long walk through the casino to get to the restaurant. Not being interested in the casino, this is a drawback for me. I'd go more often if there was a separate direct entrance.
I would highly recomment
We have enjoyed a visit to the Willows whenever we are staying at Chumash Casino Resort and have never been disappointed. They have helped us celebrate two anniversaries with a special homemade ice cream and berries dessert. The entrees are so special with fresh vegetables, delicious sauces and creative presentations. The bread basket comes with four choices of spreads, and the salad selection changes seasonally...we saw strawberries being harvested on the drive down, and enjoyed a fresh strawberry salad as a starter. A restaurant that we always look forward to!
Willows has improved quite a bit from years past. The service is wonderful. Our waitress was helpful with suggestions and she was lovely to us. My crab legs were some of the best I have ever eaten. Definitely, they were a five star meal but the price tag was $78.00 and anyone would expect that they should be that good. The Caesar salad was a disappointment, however. It is hard to explain how a chef could ruin a Caesar salad but, unfortunately, he did. My husband's dinner was fine, he said, but nothing to rave about. He had the French onion soup first and then the pork chop as an entree. All in all, it was a mixed package of great, average and disappointing. I gave Willows a 4 star rating because of great service and the improvements that they made with some of the foods on the menu.
We had a wonderful meal and the service and atmosphere great! Always enjoyable to make the drive for fun and a beautiful meal, totally recommend Willows
Great food, good wine, ok corkage fee,$20 per brought bottle.
Overall great evening.
Everything was fantastic!
Excellent just a very good place to have dinner and a friendly server which is important to me
Next time would do it again!
A lovely romantic place to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. Food presentation was great and so was the flavor. My husband had the rib eye and I had the halibut. Will definitely come back again.
Chris, our server was great! Two comments. The salt and pepper shakers were empty and the steak knives were dull. Good thing the steaks were so tender.
Perfect anniversary dinner ❤️ Great waiter and food. Our favorite Santa Ynez spot
We've dined several times at the Willows, have been very impressed, and would have rated the experience 'outstanding' ... until this visit. Our dinner on Mother's Day, at 8pm, found the restaurant crowded and the staff under pressure. Once seated, we waited 15 minutes before a server stopped by to take an order for cocktails, and didn't get our dinners served until 45 minutes later. My steak, ordered 'very rare', was delivered 'medium', and had to be sent back.
Overall, the waiter was pleasant, the food was good, but there was no 'gratis' offer of coffee or dessert over the inconvenience of long waits and returned food.
We will return to the Willows - it's a fine restaurant - but we will pick a non-holiday date in the future when the atmosphere is less pressured.
So perv dining experience
We enjoyed the food and the service. We celebrate my wife's birthday the waiter brought a nice simple ice cream desert.
