Excellent food! Loved the salmon entree. Our server was excellent. This is a great neighborhood restaurant!
Pleasant atmosphere and good service. Menu selections could be expanded
Made a reservation for 9, celebrating our daughter’s birthday and her graduation from high school. Unfortunately, none of us were impressed by the menu let alone our meals when they came out. Our waiter was awful. He got my family of 4 our drinks, then left and never took the rest of my family’s drink order. They waited at least 15 minutes for him to return. Then 2 more showed in our party, and they waited probably another 15 minutes. In fact, we tried to get his attention and he kept walking. This caliber of attentive ness that was needed for this establishment was not provided. He had other tables in our area, but obviously couldn’t perform to the expectation that was needed. Especially going to Willow with their menu prices. The only good thing I can say is that they allowed me to bring a cake for our celebration and not charge me the $5 cutting per person fee! We will not return.
We probably eat here once a month. Always a great experience. Everything I’ve ever had here has been delicious.
I've been to Willow many, many times in the past (even had one of my wedding event there) and this is the first time I can say that I've been disappointed. A few friends and I went to Willow for Sunday brunch and the menu was extremely short/very limited - not like it has been in the past. We had a hard time picking something that we liked as the food options were not very exciting. I got the omelette which was very plain, barely any cheese, and didn't come with any sides and my two friends got the chicken & biscuits - which had under cooked chicken and a small, over cooked biscuit. I'm really hoping this was just a fluke and Willow isn't going downhill, but I'm hesitant to try again.
We usually enjoy Willow but had dinner on Mother’s Day wand were very disappointed. The french onion soup was served in a shallow soup bowl which made it difficult to eat. The caesar salad was served with kale rather than romaine, but we were not informed of the change. We will give Willow another chance, but were disappointed with our Mother’s Day dinner.
Our food was cold and had clearly been sitting out for quite some time before it was brought to our table. The eggs Benedict were cooked far too long and were hard boiled. The sauces were also cold and a film had developed over the top of them. The pancakes were chewy. The waiter didn't seem to care about us at all and it looked like he had been out all night on a bender. Very unfortunate because we really wanted to like it and use it for future occasions.
We went for Mother’s Day brunch. We sat upstairs with views of the surrounding trees. Busy day but service was good, our team of 2 working together. Hanger steak and eggs was good. Grilled steak was flavorful. Eggs Benedict with crab meat was a hit. Will definitely return.
We have been dining at Willow for years but recently, the service, food and general atmosphere has dimished. Now to be fair, our recent visit was on Mother's Day and the place was crowed, loud and the wait staff was stressed. Also, the food was served cold, not cold but certainly not at a proper temperture. Once again, this could be due to the crowd but ownership should know that the day would be busy and have extra wait and kitchen staff working. I heard the place is for sale and it shows.
Willow's staff is always accommodating and friendly. They don't mind special requests and are very attentive. The food is always flavorful and plenty. Crab cake Benedict!! Also deserts are luscious!
Love the restaurant. While the prices are a little high, I always receive one of my favorite meals of all time. Even trying new things that I usually wouldn’t like, I always enjoy my meal there.
From start to finish the meal was perfect! We couldn't decide what to get so the three of us shared 6 small plates and there wasn't one thing that was a disappointment.
THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR A GREAT EVENING
Stopped in for quick bite before going to play. Service was quick but not rushed. Food was very tasty and pleasant to look at.
Our waitress Victoria was excellent-helpful, friendly and knowledgeable!!! We ordered a number of small plates to share. Food was fresh, nicely prepared and presented.
great food and service. we were seated in back room and the noise level so piercing due to low ceiling we were uncomfortable. when other tables left, we were able to enjoy more.
As always, we loved our food at Willow. Our server wasn't great this time, though. He was not rude or anything and we will definitely be back, I just felt like we were inconveniencing him any time we had a question or ordered.
Good food, lovely interior. Wish the fire had been burning! Menu has been drastically shortened, was a bit disappointed in limited selection for dinner. But the food was very good.
The appetizer was good.taste volume and were appropriate
Two of the 4 had ordered dinner entrees one was a steak which was tough...the other was scottish salmon which was fine tasting but the smallest portion (roughly 4 inches) we had ever seen as an entree. Of the small plates we had a crab cake that was sub par at best for $14 , the chicken wraps which were delicious, and the french dip sandwich which was also very good.
So as to recommendations it would be stay away from the dinner entrees stick with the small
plates and sandwiches.
Knowledgable staff, great food great service. Something for everyone. Love the Beef Tartare!
We hadn’t been here for 10 years. I’m so glad my husband suggested it for our 10 year anniversary. It was great and will definitely not wait another 10 years!
The food at Willow was outstanding! I'm a vegetarian and typically fancier restaurants don't have much to offer in the way of options, but Willow did not disappoint! Everything I had was amazingly delicious. The service was a little slow. I believe our server smoked, because after a few very long breaks between his visits to our table he'd come back smelling like cigarettes. It's unfortunate that his habit had to affect our evening. He was kind, though, and when he was giving us service, it was good. The atmosphere is comfortable, inviting, and there's a decent amount of space between the tables, which was nice. I don't like places that try to cram as many heads in as possible. The only draw back was there were two events taking place in rooms right next to the dining room we were in, with no separation at all, and the guests at said events were VERY loud. I don't believe this would be the norm, but something for the restaurant to consider amending in design. I will definitely be going back!
Always liked the ambiance and the exceptional service. Just thought the menu items were a bit pricy . The food was good but didn't knock it out if the ball park. When weather permits like the patio. It appears there was a slight change of the menu items. If you are picky, then that may be an issue. But, there are just enough choices to get by, and optional choices were accepted.
Maybe, choosing the bar and Happy Hour would be a great alternative. Special occasions make for a perfect destination . The meal, drinks and/or dessert can be expensive if done on a weekly basis.
A favorite for us. Service is good and Victoria is exceptional!
The food was great but our waiter was very blah. I had to ask for everything.
Food was good. Service was good and attentive. We shared the berry taramasu. Omg! That was amazing! If I knew it would be that good I would have bought a couple peices if that for dinner!
This was our second visit to Willow in a few months. We had been there for dinner before and it was delicious - my husband especially loved the pork chop! We decided to do Easter brunch there and all three of us loved our food! Two of us had the vegetable frittata; my husband had the Crab Benedict. I also had the French onion soup. All amazing and creatively done. The presentation of the food was lovely.
Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend Easter afternoon. We will definitely return.
We went for Easter brunch. Food presentation was really good. I enjoyed the chicken and biscuit. The biscuit had a nice sweetness to it. The elderberry cocktail was flavorful too. The restaurant had nice seating and beautiful artwork. I would like to try their dinner menu next time.
My husband and I have been to Willow many times, we even had our first date there. We were very disappointed with the menu options and even more so with what we finally settled for. The restaurant looked great, the atmosphere was somewhat romantic, but unfortunately the food was disgusting. We will likely never be back again.
This was my first, and my friend's first trip to Willow. It had been recommended by an acquaintance. We were seated close to the fireplace which was great on a damp day. The food was delicious. I had the French Dip and my friend the BLT flat bread. We were not disappointed. My only complaint might be that I felt it was a bit pricey. Saw one couple sit down, look at menu, and then they left. I don't know why unless it could have been prices. I refuse to pay $14 for a burger, so I had French Dip, which was delicious. I might suggest the addition of some soups. There was a gumbo but only thing close to a soup. We would definitely go back again. My friend was celebrating her 70th birthday and really felt it a treat to eat at Willow.
Wonderful Lunch! Scrumptious food & Excellent service!
The restaurant has a nice ambiance. Victoria was our server. She honestly made the meal. The food was really good. We got the crab cake and tartare to start, and both of these were delicious. I got the burger and my boyfriend got the French dip. We both thought our meals were very good. The service was above and beyond. Victoria was very personable and attentive. Casual dining with white table service. We will be going back for sure.
The 5 yr old is a picky eater.
the waitress had a picky eater herself and made sure that he was served "plain" fries. The server was wonderful and so friendly and nice making us feel welcome. My granddaughter had a mac and cheese which she had her mother taste so it could be made at home...it was so good and had a special ingredient. 3 of us had skirt (?)steaks which were perfect. It was my 75th birthday and we all agreed that it was a perfect place to go. Although we actually celebrated it at home.
I was the only person from Pittsburgh and was glad to introduce them to the Willow.
Food was fabulous. Our waitress, Victoria, was awesome! Her suggestions were dead on and we loved her personality.
The small plates menu is a great way to get a good food experience at Willow. They have a large wine selection and the ambiance is warm and comfortable. A good place to catch a unique meal with a lot of options for your dinig party to taste.
Food was good. Had to pay for bread. We were seated upstairs. Lots of space up there, but only seating in one room and the noise level was amplified. Very noisy! Was difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was not the best. Had a few of the small plates and they were good. May have been one of the best crab cakes I've had in a while. Not sure I would go again because of the noise level. Could be I just went on an off day.
Great food, the shrimp and grits in particular, crummy service this time.
Party of 4 -- All very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere at our table.
After dinner drinks at bar were minorly marred by a bartender who was noticeably unpleasant and little chilliness (sitting by the door). The chilliness was rectified by a small space heater.
No big worries... We will be back!
First time visit - for business dinner left us very pleased. I had high expectations ( since the place is run by the same group who owns "Spoon" in East End), and Willow totally met them. We arrived earlier and were able to take advantage of the Happy Hour menu. Everything was very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. For dinner - we opted for variety of small plates instead of entrees: flat bread, mussels, mac and cheese, and crabcakes were outstanding.
If you have not yet tried this place, plan your visit soon!
