We hadn’t been here for 10 years. I’m so glad my husband suggested it for our 10 year anniversary. It was great and will definitely not wait another 10 years!
The food at Willow was outstanding! I'm a vegetarian and typically fancier restaurants don't have much to offer in the way of options, but Willow did not disappoint! Everything I had was amazingly delicious. The service was a little slow. I believe our server smoked, because after a few very long breaks between his visits to our table he'd come back smelling like cigarettes. It's unfortunate that his habit had to affect our evening. He was kind, though, and when he was giving us service, it was good. The atmosphere is comfortable, inviting, and there's a decent amount of space between the tables, which was nice. I don't like places that try to cram as many heads in as possible. The only draw back was there were two events taking place in rooms right next to the dining room we were in, with no separation at all, and the guests at said events were VERY loud. I don't believe this would be the norm, but something for the restaurant to consider amending in design. I will definitely be going back!
Always liked the ambiance and the exceptional service. Just thought the menu items were a bit pricy . The food was good but didn't knock it out if the ball park. When weather permits like the patio. It appears there was a slight change of the menu items. If you are picky, then that may be an issue. But, there are just enough choices to get by, and optional choices were accepted.
Maybe, choosing the bar and Happy Hour would be a great alternative. Special occasions make for a perfect destination . The meal, drinks and/or dessert can be expensive if done on a weekly basis.
A favorite for us. Service is good and Victoria is exceptional!
The food was great but our waiter was very blah. I had to ask for everything.
Food was good. Service was good and attentive. We shared the berry taramasu. Omg! That was amazing! If I knew it would be that good I would have bought a couple peices if that for dinner!
This was our second visit to Willow in a few months. We had been there for dinner before and it was delicious - my husband especially loved the pork chop! We decided to do Easter brunch there and all three of us loved our food! Two of us had the vegetable frittata; my husband had the Crab Benedict. I also had the French onion soup. All amazing and creatively done. The presentation of the food was lovely.
Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend Easter afternoon. We will definitely return.
We went for Easter brunch. Food presentation was really good. I enjoyed the chicken and biscuit. The biscuit had a nice sweetness to it. The elderberry cocktail was flavorful too. The restaurant had nice seating and beautiful artwork. I would like to try their dinner menu next time.
My husband and I have been to Willow many times, we even had our first date there. We were very disappointed with the menu options and even more so with what we finally settled for. The restaurant looked great, the atmosphere was somewhat romantic, but unfortunately the food was disgusting. We will likely never be back again.
This was my first, and my friend's first trip to Willow. It had been recommended by an acquaintance. We were seated close to the fireplace which was great on a damp day. The food was delicious. I had the French Dip and my friend the BLT flat bread. We were not disappointed. My only complaint might be that I felt it was a bit pricey. Saw one couple sit down, look at menu, and then they left. I don't know why unless it could have been prices. I refuse to pay $14 for a burger, so I had French Dip, which was delicious. I might suggest the addition of some soups. There was a gumbo but only thing close to a soup. We would definitely go back again. My friend was celebrating her 70th birthday and really felt it a treat to eat at Willow.
Wonderful Lunch! Scrumptious food & Excellent service!
The restaurant has a nice ambiance. Victoria was our server. She honestly made the meal. The food was really good. We got the crab cake and tartare to start, and both of these were delicious. I got the burger and my boyfriend got the French dip. We both thought our meals were very good. The service was above and beyond. Victoria was very personable and attentive. Casual dining with white table service. We will be going back for sure.
The 5 yr old is a picky eater.
the waitress had a picky eater herself and made sure that he was served "plain" fries. The server was wonderful and so friendly and nice making us feel welcome. My granddaughter had a mac and cheese which she had her mother taste so it could be made at home...it was so good and had a special ingredient. 3 of us had skirt (?)steaks which were perfect. It was my 75th birthday and we all agreed that it was a perfect place to go. Although we actually celebrated it at home.
I was the only person from Pittsburgh and was glad to introduce them to the Willow.
Food was fabulous. Our waitress, Victoria, was awesome! Her suggestions were dead on and we loved her personality.
The small plates menu is a great way to get a good food experience at Willow. They have a large wine selection and the ambiance is warm and comfortable. A good place to catch a unique meal with a lot of options for your dinig party to taste.
Food was good. Had to pay for bread. We were seated upstairs. Lots of space up there, but only seating in one room and the noise level was amplified. Very noisy! Was difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was not the best. Had a few of the small plates and they were good. May have been one of the best crab cakes I've had in a while. Not sure I would go again because of the noise level. Could be I just went on an off day.
Great food, the shrimp and grits in particular, crummy service this time.
Party of 4 -- All very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere at our table.
After dinner drinks at bar were minorly marred by a bartender who was noticeably unpleasant and little chilliness (sitting by the door). The chilliness was rectified by a small space heater.
No big worries... We will be back!
First time visit - for business dinner left us very pleased. I had high expectations ( since the place is run by the same group who owns "Spoon" in East End), and Willow totally met them. We arrived earlier and were able to take advantage of the Happy Hour menu. Everything was very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. For dinner - we opted for variety of small plates instead of entrees: flat bread, mussels, mac and cheese, and crabcakes were outstanding.
If you have not yet tried this place, plan your visit soon!
The Willow is a very nice restaurant that excelled in customer service. We went on Valentine's Day which they had a special limited menu that we were unaware of and was not given the opportunity to order from the regular menu. So, my fiance and I are dieting and did not eat the dessert that was included in the $65 price of the meal. The food was really tasty and the presentation was appealing.
My fiance and I went on Valentine's Day. The food was excellent, however, I wasn't please with Willow jacking up their prices in excess of $15 per person because it's Valentine's Day, all with a limited menu. I was never told there was a limited menu, nor was I told that limited menu was $65/person. If I'd have known that, I'd have stayed home and made my fiance dinner instead. A crab cake, a pork chop and a panna cotta dessert should NEVER cost anyone $65. $50, sure. They did have the nerve to tell me that they were offering free Valet Parking, though. It'd have rather parked myself and ordered off of the dinner menu. Just insane.
I will say, the food was excellent, but I would never go back here for any special occasion.
Meetup for widowed men and women. Great for conversation.
Victoria is an amazing personable server. We've had her multiple times and she is great, very attentive but not overbearing.
We typically go to Willow about once a year. Since the last time we were there, the menu has been quite restricted. I felt like I didn’t have as many options. It could just be my perception but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I have in the past. It was not bad; in fact it was quite good. But it wasn’t exceptional as I previously thought it to be.
Crab cakes we're just like you would get in Maryland.
Every thing was excellent
Last minute dinner plans with the family. Great food and service.
Focused menu with each having some gourmet flair. Each dish selected by our party was rated delicious. Great wine. Pricey, but worth it for that important meeting or special occasion. Attentive service.
Fantastic service, food and cocktails! Victoria, our waitress, was a delight!
Had not been for brunch before and it turned out to be just as good as dinner. Toward the end of the meal, it got louder as it became more crowded but that is to be expected. Food was amazing, especially as a southern transplant always looking for good grits around here—awesome. Definitely will return!
We have been to Willow many times. We are never disappointed. Love the small plates and interesting drinks.
Good food great service and our server Victoria really knows her stuff.
Our server Fred was great. Knowledgeable and friendly. Potato soup was more of a puree, and somewhat tasteless. The beet salad was very good tasting, but small portioned for the price. I had the small plate Mac and cheese with chicken as my meal, it was perfect. My husband had the ravioli, which he said was good, but after tasting my meal he said mine was better. Overall the food was average.
They got off to a bad start; I arrived early, checked in and said I'd be at the bar. Did not see my guest come in, he checked in and was seated but not told that I was there. We both sat in different spots thinking the other was late for 15 minutes - finally called his cell to find him -- staff never figured it out, despite the fact that I had a reservation for two. Sloppy.
For the meal each of us had two of the small plates -- excellent. Service was good, although not outstanding. Price was very fair for the quality.
Would go again, but wouldn't try to meet someone there.
Lovely place. Went for brunch and were seated next to the fireplace. Very cozy and the food was excellent.
My wife and I went out for New Year’s Eve. This was our first time trying Willow. My wife ordered a filet mignon and I had a pork chop. The pork chop was enormous. It had to be a 4” thick chop. Anyway, the “filet” was not a filet. It looked like a cheap piece of meat. My wife said it tasted alright, but she wasn’t impressed. My pork chop was ridiculously dry. Also, it was bland. I couldn’t eat too much more than 1/4 of it.
The crab cake and lobster bisque that we had for an appetizer were very good, as was the chocolate cake we had for dessert.
Overall, we’re glad we tried it since we’ve driven by so many times and vowed we would. However, I don’t think we’ll be back.
We went to willow for NYE and had a reservation. We have been there many times but this time was not the best experience. We sat upstairs in a banquet room and it was not at all like sitting downstairs. It was cold and not nearly as nice as the rest of the restaurant. The food was pretty good but for the prefixed menu price of $170 for 2 people it wasn’t that good. The service was very disappointing. It’s normally great but our waitress was not friendly and you could tell she was super overwhelmed. It took forever to just get a water refill. Never again do I want to sit upstairs, seems like a totally different restaurant. Just overall not happy with our experience for the price.
Willow was either over scheduled or understaffed for NYE dinner. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and we weren’t finished until 10pm, and that was because we asked for our dessert and checks at the same time. The food quality and service was tremendously better last NYE (2016). We were very disappointed in the quality of the food, the value (I get it NYE is an expensive meal) they definitely didn’t match. And to top it off our meal took almost 3 hours. Willow has traditionally been great and we have been there numerous times and enjoyed it, but they struck out this time and I will be rethinking going back for any special occasion. :(
The food and service were excellent as always. The prix-fixe menu selection had enough choices but small enough to not be overwhelming. All of the selections that we had in our party were very good and our waitress was very attentive and friendly.
The only detractor was the layout of the tables. They had one or two too many tables where we were sitting so we were often bumping into other people while we were seated and people had to squeeze past to get to their tables, bumping into ours. We eventually moved to another table that was properly spaced from others and had an excellent time for the remainder of our visit.
