Willoughby Brewing Company Ratings and Reviews
I haven't been here in a year or two and finally got back. Pleasantly surprised with the new updated menu. I wanted to sample everything it all sounded great. We came in to watch the Indians WS game and it was great the place was active and fun but not too loud so we could talk at least in between innings. We just had a few of the appetizers. Soft pretzels but what was shocking was the dipping sauces, a unique spicy mustard and a spicy cheese, the winner by far was a caramel sauce infused with their awesome peanut butter cup porter ale. A humas plate was tasty and smoky.
we will definitely be back to have a full meal their smoked meats and BYO mac and cheese looked awesome at the next table
Servive was A plus our waiter explained the new menu to us, like he cared. made the night all the better.
See you next time
I reserved a table for my daughter and a friend. They were 10 minutes late as they had never been there before and it took them a while to figure out how to get to the restaurant since it is behind the main thoroughfare. They were told they lost their reservation in a not so friendly way. Apparently the restaurant was pretty empty with minimal diners. They were eventually told they could have the table that had a reservation in an hour. The restaurant never did fill up and had many empty tables. I wonder if the young 20 something server would have treated an older couple the same way if they were 10 minutes late or is it just because these were 2 young girls who weren't comfortable with speaking up for themselves. Hostesses/Servers should be aware that just because a patron is young, they are still a paying patron and had no reason to assume any differently and be treated any less. Very disappointed in how the situation was handled by the front staff.
honestly that impressed. We fir dinner prior toa show being hosted. food was sub-par; however, excellent service.
Headliner comedian was drunk by the time his show started, which was a huge letdown. However, we liked the middle guy.
We ended up leaving early.
All in all, a waste of $85.
We had an awful waitress who didn't bring silverware, dishes for appetizers, and had to go back for things she forgot when we ordered or had to be asked a second time to remind her to get for us. The food has changed a lot since our last visit several years ago. It's more bar food menu and the chicken tacos were awful. Very disappointed.
Neat little brewpub. Good selection of home brews on tap and not home brews in bottles. Food was very good, what you expect out of a brewpub.
The Railroad Raz was good. Didn't care for the others I tried but I'm a Miller Lite kinda guy (which is available)
Pretzel appetizer was great. Humus appetizer was very good. SW Chicken wrap was very good.
Server was very attentive and offered helpful suggestions.
Moderately loud, before the band. Talking after the band started playing was impossible. (9:30-10ish) That's what sent us out.
Valet parking only on Friday and Saturday ($5)
We had 4 beers, 3 mixed drinks, 2 appetizers and the Wrap, $68 before tip.
Came back the next night for more. Highly recommend.
Went there on Mother's Day. Brunch was ok. For the price I expected more selections. Waitress was nice but we rarely saw her. I realize it is a buffet brunch but people need refills and we struggled to find her. They were not busy so it shouldn't have been an issue. Beer was good. I would go back to drink but not for the food or service.
Come for the beer or come for the food, either way you won't be disappointed. The draft selections of their in house offerings are all great and you can get crowlers to go which is a plus. If you want to stop in for lunch or dinner, the menu options are delicious and appropriately priced. Also has a ton of seating, fantastic patio, live bands on a regular basis, and family friendly.
We made reservations thinking everything would be "normal". Some one there had the bright idea to limit the menu for Super bowl day to only a few appetizers. We had people coming from different parts of the state and could not change to somewhere else at the last second. We found out about the menu change after we were seated. I was disappointed that they would not prepare any food for us.
Just because it's a brewery, doesn't mean every food item needs to have beer in it- beer humus, beer roasted veggies. Step away from the keg.
Aside from that, the menu is now bar food- only ~4 entrees and uninspired imo. The pot roast, while tender, was 50% fat and overly salty. The mixed veggies were tasteless and the beer braised veggies were a sodden mass of flavorlessness.
The restaurant was not busy at all but the salad came out with the main course. The main course was plated incorrectly and fixing it took over 10 minutes (it gave me time to eat the excellent kale salad).
Overall, this was a poor experience. We'll look online to see if the next menu is worth bothering, but likely we've visited for the last time.
The beer selection and variety is great. The food, with the exception of the Bavarian pretzels, was nothing to write home about. We were here about 1 year ago, and the food was great, but the place was empty. This year, it was busy, but the menu was totally different. A little too trendy for my liking, and not a whole lot of variety. Probably should have just had beer & pretzels as appetizers and gone somewhere else for dinner.
It's been awhile since I was last at Willoughby Brewing and on previous visits the beer has been Great and the food...has been ok. But on this latest visit my wife & I were blown away by how Great the food is compared to our last visit. And the server, Adam, was the BEST! Great Job Willoughby Brewing Co!
We went right after the DTW 5K and it was packed! But with our RSVP, we were sat on time to our reservation and the service was great and attentive. Food took a normal amount of time and the bar was great with drinks too. Pizzas are huge! Even the kids size!
The restaurant did a great job incorporating the event into their menu. We wanted to sit outside but not happening that night. Food was great, beer was great and service friendly and fast. Cold inside with ceiling fans that really move the air. I was happy but not my girlfriend. View is a little bland due to their location but overall, not going their for the view. I would definitely go back.
We have been there twice now, this time taking a group that had not been and they loved it also!
The menu is not to big and that makes it really nice, you know they are cooking quality food.
The specials were excellent and unique. Of course their beer is good, some of us non-beer drinkers had the Sangria and it was excellent.
The menu was not at all exciting for a luncheon menu. This is much different from the "old" menu. I did not find much flavor in the Chop Salad I ordered and you could hardly chew the bacon bits.
For a Friday lunch the restaurant was not very busy. Perhaps a sign that the new menu is not pleasing to customers??
Have not been to WB for a few years but thought to give it a try as I remember the food being pretty good. What a shock! There is a new menu that is at best difficult. Nothing is even tempting to try. Since we were there we had a beer and tried an appetizer - pierogies. These were terrible! Greasy, tasteless, and unappetizing presentation. Obviously did not finish the plate. Asked for the bill and went to eat at another establishment in Willoughby.
My recommendation - don't go to WB to eat.
Server was very nice and attentive.
