Willi's Wine Bar
Willi’s has definitely risen from the ashes. Every bit as good as it used to be. So happy they’re back.
This was our first visit to the new location. It's not the quaint old roadhouse but, instead, a comfortable updated bistro environment. Still the same great wine list with lots of interesting picks by the glass. Interesting flight selection as before. The wine list offers a unique opportunity to taste a broad spectrum of wines without breaking the bank.
We had the goat spinach salad with goat cheese, the classic Moroccan lamb chops, chili shrimp and a couple of other small plates. By the end our taste buds were truly satiated. All were as good as the Willi's we remember. This is a wonderful place to taste and sip. We'll be going regularly.
So glad Willi’s is back!
Extremely noisy environment. Very frenetic. It was sometimes difficult to get the attention of wait staff. At one point, a woman did come by to ask how we were doing and asked if we'd like to order some skillet bread to sop up delicious sauce we hadn't finished. We answered in the affirmative, but we didn't get the bread until we later asked our waitress to submit the order--which she did promptly. Food is wonderful and if you don't mind forgoing talking with your table mates, it's worth it.
We've been to Willi's twice in the last week. Can't wait to go back. We really love the food. The lamb chops and Tunisian roasted carrots are among our favorites. So nice to have a high-quality restaurant in the Town and Country area. Many of us live close enough to walk to Willi's. Cocktails are not served and there is no happy hour. Kudos to the Starks for doing the right thing for the neighborhood!
Each dish was superb. It was fun to order as we went along. We loved the lobster gnocchi and the filet minion sliders. Our waitress was gracious, fun and knowledgeable. This is much more convenient for us. We already have plans to go back.
We love the old site, its food and services, but were somewhat disappointed by the new location and the new hostesses, and its noise level, the food is still good though. We made a Father’s Day dinner reservation last Sun for two via open table w/ a request for a patio seating, but were seated in a dark corner right next to a large crowd/table w/ servers constantly squeezed through behind us. Rather than apologizing for the mistakes made or offering a different seating, the hostess made a point saying that the reason why she did not seat us in the patio area was because we booked via Open Table (thus she did not see our request), did not book through them directly and “encouraged” us not to use Open Table next time. These two hostesses could be young and inexperienced, but we found their attitude towards customer service was quite disturbing!!
Great to see them back. Not as charming as the old Willi's....but that was to be expected. The quality is just about as good as before, but the noise level in the new location is off the charts. Hard to hear conversation at our table. The Old Willi's was one of our favorite restaurants, and we'll probably come back, but because of the noise level we won't be in such a hurry to return.
We had a couple of wine flights (a Bordeaux varietals flight and a Sonoma County flight). We enjoyed both. We sampled 7 small plates. All were good, but things seemed really salty. Crab tacos were really good. The meat on the filet sliders was great, but there too much sauce on the sliders. They just fell apart. Goat cheese fritters were fun. Pulled duck BBQ was good, but not actual BBQ. We sat on the patio with our puppy, which was nice. Our server was not very friendly, but other servers seemed to be happier.
Love this place. Happy it’s back.
We really enjoyed our time on the veranda. Great food. Delicious gf options too. A bit pricey, but we loved the food, service and vibe.
EXCELLENT food, very attentive service with a smile, and great ambiance. So glad this iconic restaurant has re-opened in a new location after our devastating fires. The food is top notch and so incredibly seasoned and tasty. Our server was so kind and attentive. WE will be back for sure!
The reopen of Willi's was much anticipated. The new location and food surpass the old which was already outstanding. Congrats to the Starks!!
Wow!! Food fantastic, choice of wine is unparalleled. Service friendly, but the restaurant was understaffed. The waitress was working very hard to be attentive to us. We tried MANY DIFFERENT wines thanks to plentiful 2 oz pours available. Some of the wines had lost their flavor because they had been sitting too long. Maybe they need to invest in some kind of argon gas option? Overall an amazing experience for wine lovers and foodies - this place needs a Michelin star. So glad they reopened!!
When we entered the new site, two things immediately hit us: the renovation was lovely and the noise was deafening. It was like a wave that almost knocked us backward. Once we were seated, in the back, the level of noise was even higher. The main reason to go to any Stark's restaurant is to enjoy the food but when the noise doesn't let you do that, let alone talk to the guests you have brought, it just isn't worth it. Since none of their other restaurants have this problem, I trust that the owners will correct this as soon as possible so we can come back.
Was very impressed with what they did with the place. From the Host to our Server AND Bus persons were very attentive, nice and professional. Great job Willis Bar Staff.
Incredible, as always! The food was just as outstanding as it’s always been. Loved it!
Very nice meal. The beef sliders delicious but 2 messy .
As usual when you get earlier reservations the food comes too fast and that always upsets me.
noise level very bad .
GOOD LUCK You will see us again Frank
So thrilled with the new location!! Just down the street from us so we will be frequent diners! Great place for a date night!
Wanted to try the new location and eating outside st 11:30 was nice.
Surprise was the small amount of food in the “small plates.” The pork ribs were served in a small round dish and included about 5 tiny one bite pieces. Good flavor just not enough!
Wine prices too high for very average wine !
Nice lunch with friends but we won’ be back
Great experience. Same great food as old location. Extremely loud inside. Great service.
Food great, too loud indoors, needs cocktails!
We were very happy to visit the new Willi’s! The food is fabulous and the service was great. That said, it is very noisy inside!
Thanks for having a couple of vegan options. Our waitperson was great.
The new iteration of Willi's lacks the coziness and sense of tradition the old one did, but the food and service are still superb!! The noise level inside is too loud for anyone with a hearing aid.
Amazing! Did not disappoint.
Everything was great except the noise level.
Great service had a new server did a good job
Love Willi’s! Thank you for coming to our neighborhood. The new space is great. We loved the food and service. We wanted to give feedback on the noise level; it was distractingly loud in the restaurant. The acoustics are not great in the new building.
It's great to have this gem back. The food is just as great.
The noise level seemed too high and made if difficult to talk.
Fun but not a place for conversation: lots of hard surfaces make for extreme noise. Lobster gnocchi and scallops dumplings very tasty. Jumbo asparagus soft and way overdone. Lamb chops tasty but extremely fatty. Good to have them back but improvements to be made.
Went for our anniversary. Love the location (neighborhood restaurant). We also like the tapas approach (lots of different flavors). Probably didn't need to order as many plates (we ordered 6 while 4 or 5 would have been enough for two of us).
Lacks the charm, ambiance of the original - noise level very disturbing. Food excellent as was service- will wait a while before returning in hopes it will be less crowded and noisy .
Excellent selection of small plates. Server provided good guidance on quantities and the only complaint was that we had to send the lamb chops back to be cooked more - they were served too raw/pink for our palates.
Nice choice of wine. Excellent salads. We were 4 and shared everything. Will come again if we are in the area.
Parking is easy - location is suburban shopping center and the remodel of the space is attractive.
Perfection as always!
So glad Willis is back! It is gorgeous, and we live the new location. Had the lamb chops for lunch last Saturday and they were even better than we remembered! Ate at the bar last Friday—wonderful server!—and enjoyed everything. But a few “notes@ on the food. The oysters weren’t our favorites—a little too large, and we didn’t care for them pre-sauced; the green bean salad was a bit over-dressed, and the truffle fries were fine, but just ordinary... Don’t get me wrong—we LOVE this place and look forward to trying everything, and seeing how it all unfolds. It is only going ti get more fabulous. A great new space and a whole new era. Welcome back!!!
Wonderful! We were celebrating the reopening of our favorite restaurant! Beautifully done. Congratulations Terry and Mark🎉🥂
Outstanding in every respect. Stellar presentation of food, attentive service, welcoming ambiance.
Great to be back at Willi’s Wine Bar. Friendly people, very good service, yummy food and very nice wine list. Much like before.
However, the big difference from “before” is the ambiance. One big, LOUD room with rows of tables. Ouch - my ears! We had to make an effort to have a conversation with our table of four. I want to say I loved our time there. But it was not relaxing. In the end it was a relief to walk outside. Darn! How to fix this???
Over the top noisy inside. Some sound dampening panels need to be added. I was coughing alot because I was straining my voice to make voice loud enough to be heard over the amibient din. Next I will request a table outside if weather permits.
