Excellent food at a reasonable price
What a great night. My wife’s birthday dinner was amazing. Food cooked to perfection. Our waiter made our dinner special. He was always there to help. Thank you. We will see you again. However it is a long way from Kelowna, BC

The food was excellent but quite expensive . The wine was 4 times the price of the LCBO
300$ for a dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine is expensive.
Generally in good restaurants , the price would be 200$.
I would recommend the restaurant but with a caution about the price.

This is the best brunch in Ottawa, hands down. The staff is awesome and Jimmy is wonderful — very friendly and a master at making you an amazing omelette or crepe. Love the fresh, local food, always a great time!

This restaurant has an enormous natural advantage through its location in the Chateau Laurier, which it is failing to capitalise upon. I had the Steak Frites: the steak was flavourless, too salty and chewy, and the frites were overcooked and greasy, with a small tasteless salad. The service was friendly but borderline incompetent, with an endless wait for our main meal (possibly this restaurant uses the detestable technique of holding back on meals to force a second wine order), resulting in a rush with the dessert, though we had explained our time limitations in writing and repeated them orally.

Vaut la peine d'y aller. Y retournerons-nous? Probablement pas. Pas grand différence entre le brunch au Wilfrid et les autres brunchs des grands hôtels. On y va pour voir ce qu'est le Château Laurier. Vu une fois, vu pour toujours et on passe à autre chose.

Very pricey for the plate sizes. At this price point you shouldn't leave hungry. Food was excellent though. The restaurant was quiet.

Lunch: Booked because I knew it would not be busy...ideal for a business meeting so it succeeded on that level. The menu was short and boring, the soup of the day which we all took because is sounded like a spicy North African soup was basically tomato-rice soup. And bland. The mains were nicely presented but modest in size. Four cups of soup, one salmon, 2 club house sandwiches, one appetizer, no alcohol, one coke, two coffees: with tip: $250. Now you know why it was quite...and sad for the signature restaurant of an historic landmark hotel. Clearly management doesn't care.

It was our 2nd visit for brunch in a month. Wonderful all around but especially lucky to have had the experience of Jimmy at the omelet bar. He made us an incredible omelet with sauteed/flambed veggies, egg whites, a little lemon juice, brie, smoked salmon and capers, served with a dollop of cream cheese. We didn't have a chance to tell him how much we enjoyed it! We also got the history of his creation while he was making it! Definitely recommend this!!

Food (pasta with mushrooms) was below expectation, flavor was only ok, also too greasy, led to bad digestion for both of us. Pasta felt overcooked as well. Can get much better value at The Courtyard, as an example.

Our server was excellent. The table location, by the window and terrace was a nice touch. Those in our group who ordered beef were pleased with presentation and taste. I had the bass, and must admit was a little disappointed in size of piece of fish, but it was very good. Another, in our group, had the cauliflower dish and said it was excellent. . A birthday and an Anniversary acknowledgement was a very nice surprise at end of meal!

We attended the breakfast buffet at Wilfrid’s while staying at the Chateau Laurier.
The food prepared was all fresh and what was supposed to be hot, was hot. What was supposed to be cold, was cold! The chef prepared requests on the spot and breakfast overall was terrific.
The ambiance at Château Laurier cannot be beaten. The staff was very attentive and professional.
The only drawbacks are the pricing, which is extremely high and the fact that you have to reserve through Open Table reservation system yet the restaurant does not award any points for the reservation.

Ours was an intimate family celebration of a 50th wedding anniversary. The restaurant found a simple, elegant way to recognize this event. I would have preferred a large round table for seating as a rectangular table makes it difficult to interact with everyone. I had hoped to view the parliament buildings and was not disappointed. Food and service were excellent and all 8 main courses arrived at the same time.

Children under 10/12 should be free. We had 4&7 yr olds who ate nothing. Charged 14$ for 7 yr old. Food was pretty good but not outstanding. Service excellent.

I found the menu did not have enough choices. There was no seafood choice as a main entree . My steak was not cooked to my liking and had a lot of fat on it.
The meal and cocktails were way over priced for what you get. The atmosphere was good. Service also good. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this restaurant to a friend.
We’ve been here a couple of times and all was great. I guess this time luck wasn’t on our side.
Aside, please bring back a pianist for you other lounge.

We absolutely loved Wilfrid's! The service was amazing. Even before I could ask, Jimmy let me know which dessert items had alcohol as he was aware I did not consume alcohol, so I really appreciated that. There were a couple of other items that had wine in them, and I was told they had a version without wine in the back and they brought a portion to our table. The staff and our server Nicole were very respectful and kind and made sure we were taken care of. Food was amazing too! Everything was so fresh and flavourful. Atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable too. We will definitely be coming back with our friends!

We came here for Sunday buffet breakfast. The food selection consisted of dry cereals, oatmeal, mueslix, yogurt, fruits, smoothies, teas, breads and breakfast pastries, bagels, smoked salmon and condiments, hot foods such as scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage, eggs Benedict, made to order omelets and waffles. Enough to fill you up. Coffee was inc for the price which was pretty good. Server was friendly and quickly took our order. I would have liked the table cleared of used plates quicker. Otherwise, it was a good breakfast in this elegant hotel.
