Wildflower - Tucson Ratings and Reviews
Ambiance, service and wine were great. My date ordered the ribeye special, medium well and after sending back and it still was rare inside we changed our order to the sesame shrimp pasta dish. While that was good it was oversauced. I had the fish special which was really good but my date was not so lucky. May give this place another try as every thing else was enjoyable. I do think however that after two tries on a steak at least our after dinner coffees should have been comped but that didn't happen.
My favorite restaurant in Tucson, based on its professionalism, high quality food, location and excellent service. January 6th, my birthday, was no exception. Stampley, at the bar, provided excellent service and the night was wonderful in all respects. Love Wildflower.
Predictably good as always. We were seated promptly for brunch. The bread here is outstanding. Salads were fresh and good size. The chicken salad sandwich was served on freshly sliced bread. Service was a tad slow, but OK. Can't really go wrong at this place. It is a relaxing atmosphere and the food is excellent.
One of our favorite restaurants for good, consistent food and service. On this occasion, however, we were disappointed in the service. We waited much longer than usual for a server to appear, or water to be brought. We had to ask several times for bread which eventually appeared as we were finishing our salads. Our entrees were good if not spectacular, spinach pappardelle and scallops with forbidden rice, but came out in a timely fashion.
This is the only time, out of many visits, that Wildflower didn’t live up to its normal high standard.
Wildflower is a good reliable place to eat when in Tucson. While it's not a 5 star dining experience, for the money it is always good food and great service. So while there might be other fancier places with more sophisticated options, if you want a dependable place for a good meal, Wildflower is a great choice.
My wife and I were in town from Dallas and celebrating my birthday. We found Wildflower on Open Table - and honestly weren't sure what to expect from the mixed reviews - but we had a terrific experience! The restaurant was busy but had a nice vibe and not too loud. The service was top notch - attentive but not in your face. The recommendations our server made were all right on. And the food was amazing. I had the short rib and my wife had the corvina - both were delicious, served steaming hot and right size portions. Make sure you save room for the Bars of Sin for dessert - just amazing.
Not sure we'll be back to Tucson soon - but if we are we will be hitting this place again - and I strongly recommend it!
We have dined her several times, but this is the first time we opted to eat outdoors. The propane heaters kept us cozy warm and it was much quieter than inside dining. We are actually able to carry on a conversation. Some of the dinner entrees were different. One of the items I favored previously was no longer available. I'm not sure what is was called, but it was a spicy noodle, vegetable and protein (chicken? shrimp). The four of us all ordered something different and no one was dissatisfied.
BEST PLACE TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY. This is the restaurant I pick for my birthday dinner and I’ve not been disappointed. Our wait staff was excellent, the chef made an appearance at the table, the entree’s were AMAZING (I had the Wild Mushroom Agnolotti, our guests enjoyed the pot pie and said it was the best pot pie they’ve ever had) and the DESSERT! The dessert was a selection beautifully displayed of their best desserts (our favorites were the butterscotch pudding and doughnuts...oh my goodness!!). It’s already on my birthday list for next year.
Everything was awesome, except one detail. The inside dining noise level is pretty high. This is the case on every visit. I notice there is a section regarding that on this survey. I would suggest some way of providing accousitics to battle this. It still doesn’t keep me from returning as all else is awesome!
The first time we went Saturday evening and the hostess was standing "guard" with another beautiful "snowflake". They were snooty and rude when we didn't have reservations.
My nephew is a chef and recommended the food so I made reservations for a Monday night. The same blonde hostess was again rude holding us off with an index finger while she talked on her phone. Thankfully a wonderful waitress seated us and made our meal outstanding. She and the food get 5 stars! P.S. the restaurant was slow with only 5 tables seated on that Monday night.
This remains one of the most consistently good restaurants in Tucson. The food and service are both tops in a comfortable atmosphere at very fair prices! Lots of great choices on the menu. I love the salmon galette appetizer and the paella and the great desserts!
Wine was $10 a glass! While that is significantly high for a glass of wine, I was actually charged $13.50! The waitress interrupted our conversation twice. I used to be a waitress, and I would always approach the table and WAIT until I was sure the party was finished with their conversation. The waitress also grabbed at the attachments to the bill that my friend wanted to keep, but with no explanation, the waitress just responded that she needed them!
Overall, always one of the best places in town. Great menu, some of the best desserts in town and a beautiful dining room. Service is just above average. The issue with service has always been how often the young staff checks back, coffee is never refilled, coffee is always served way before deserts come out and remains empty. Again wait-staff never came back after we paid bill to check on us or refill water when we sat talking for a bit after paying. Service is the only thing they truly need to invest time training and management improvements of being present and walking the floor during service.
Wildflower never disappoints. I had the kale salad with steelhead salmon, which was very flavorful, tender and absolutely delicious -- probably the best salmon I've ever had! Would be even better if it had been wild salmon. Service was attentive.. The Key lime tart was also excellent. I do wish Wildflower would have gluten-free selections for dessert. Overall a very delicious experience!
We have been here many times and always had great food and service. This time was awful! Our waitress forgot the appetizer we ordered and brought the soup and salad first. We had to ask for bread and she never came back to our table to refill the wine glasses.
