Made a reservation for 8pm on Valentine’s day. Came 10 minutes early and didn’t get sat til 8:45. The hostess was great she served us champagne while we waited. It was very apparent they over booked since a bunch of couples had to wait well past their reservations. The food was excellent. But the service was poor, especially for the cost of everything. We sat there for a while before the server even greeted us and it took forever to get any food. Had to remind the waiter for my wine which I think he forgot to ring in. Also my boyfriend and I struggled to cut the short rib with butter knives. The only thing that made experience good was the quality of food.
We made reservations on Valentine's day for 8pm and it was backed up and we got in at 9. Then we were told as soon as we sat down that there was no vegetarian menu and my partner doesn't eat lots of meat. I was disappointed as I used to always rave and recommend this place.

Way overbooked for Valentine's Day! Half the bookings including my wife and I waited between 45min - 1hr without a seat and even had to wait outside.
Our waitress did not tell us anything about any of our courses but basically just dropped them off and left. I received my main course and my wife's didn't get to the table until 20 minutes later and to top it off a different server brought something they just whipped up as they were out of the option from the set vegetarian menu. When our server eventually came back, she said she didn't even know what it was and that it was 'something' else. Overall it took three hours to get our 6 courses and food was either room temp or cold. The host and waitress clearly did not have fine dinning etiquette and it felt closer to a Humpty's server experience. Not to also mention, during the dinner our waitress had to ask us three times what course we were on!
It's very unfortunate as our previous experience was exceptional and we gave high recommentations. We were really looking forward to returning.
Sorry to say, but we will NOT be back and recommendations will be withdrawn.
Valentines set menu dinner.
Tables all set very close together. Very little privacy. Ruined all ability to enjoy an intimate valentines dinner.
Very very loud atmosphere as well.
Service was bad. Server seemed very overwhelmed and underprepared. Didn’t know the set menu well at all.
Dinner was 6 courses, it took 1:30 hours to get through the first two courses. We had to follow up with our server a few times to get follow up.
Our bottle of wine was stored away from our table and many times we had to get up to go get it to refill our glasses.
Many courses did not arrive as listed on the menu. Several ingredients were changed or substituted without warning or explanation (good thing we don’t have any food allergies...)
Our server dropped many plates impatiently without explaining the dish while we heard her taking the time to explain dishes to other guests.
Lastly, we were shocked to see an 18% gratuity added automatically to our bill!!!
The moment we asked for a manager our server instantly said “oh I can remove the gratuity” without us even saying what our concerns were.
It was almost as if she knew that our experience was poor and admittedly knew 18% was ridiculous.
Overall, it turned out to be a very disappointing Valentines experience and truly ruined the evening for us.
Only positive note was that the food itself was very exceptional. Great flavor combinations and well prepared.
Haven’t been in a while. The atmosphere and the bread never disappoint. The menu felt more limited than the last time but we all found dishes to enjoy. I had the duck which was superb. The portion of carrot cake was tasty but seemed to be tiny. Service was perfectly attentive and accommodating. We had a nice friends get together. Thankyou.
Staying in town for a few nights and checked out Wildflower (recommended in hotel magazine). Sunday night - made reservations - arrived at 7:30 pm and there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant. So not used to such a quiet place - by 8:00 pm we were the only people in the restaurant. Overall everything was satisfactory - nothing mindblowing - just an average restaurant meal. Service was adequate but with no one else in the restaurant, you'd think that there might be an attempt to further engage the remaining patrons. There are plenty of other restaurants to try in Edmonton - it'll be some time before we find our way back to this one.
Had an amazing time! Was a great night with the wife. Sadly there was a very very noisey group directly across the place from us. I wish they had put them further down from everyone else so it wasn’t as disruptive. However, I’ve been multiple times and will be back this place is amazing. Best service!!!
The ambiance of this little restaurant is wonderful. The servers were attentive by not obnoxiously so. The food was amazing. Our table had the duck and the bison and both were cooked to perfection. It is fine dining so portions reflect that- but the tastes were amazing. If you’re looking for something to define as “Canadian” this venue provides. 10/10 will go again. Prices are high, but the ingredients are sourced from Canada and it is apparent that great care is taken in all aspects. Date night venue for sure!
Our first visit to Edmonton (or Alberta for that matter), and Wildflower Grill caught our attention with claims of local (more or less) ingredient creatively prepared. We were not disappointed. Our server doubled as the sommelier for the wine pairings with the tasting menu. He excelled at both. Service was friendly and attentive, but not hovering. The wines worked beautifully, even when there was some misunderstanding regarding the vinaigrette used that evening. I would have wished for some more specific information on some of the wines (vineyard, producer) beyond grape and year, but then again I could have asked. We don't understand the complaints about presentation - either that or they have been addressed. Each course was creatively and attractively plated. It is hard to pick a favorite from the several courses. All were outstanding: Fresh oysters, salt cod arancini, pork belly, duck breast, flank steak, and chocolate mousse. However, the clear winner for presentation was the dessert.
The restaurant is obviously a nice, upscale establishment, but for our occasion the waitress didn't seem to care about us. Was looking away when she talked and only came to see us about 3 times for the whole visit. For the food 3 of the courses either came cold or crazy crazy salty. The drinks took a very long time.
The music was almost unhearable.
The mens washroom included no toilet paper on the roll and a broken toilet seat.
It was unfortunately a fairly sub par experience compared to what you'd expect from this type of establishment.
The service and atmosphere were great.
We were disappointed in the food. It was very salty - to the point that my mouth was burning from the salt. The gnocchi was so tough that it felt like we were eating gnocchi made from play-dough. When we got to desert - two of the four offerings were not available because neither the cheesecake or the sticky toffee pudding had set properly. The news about the dessert made us think perhaps it was a new chef — which is maybe why the food was disappointing. We left feeling like it was the most expensive mediocre food we had ever eaten.
Went there with my daughter to celebrate her 19th b-day. Limited, one page menu, all 3 of our dishes were lacklustre - steak under cooked, fish and pork dish over cooked, even the desert -cheesecake, was mediocre, price for 3 dining out -$200+ , maybe acceptable with a premium dining experience including properly cooked food
Food was great, server was excellent but other staff were rude and the management doesn’t take responsibility for the staff. Very sad that the kitchen staff put out a great product and the front end can’t finish the experience. I wrote a complaint and got excuses. If you want to try the food order to go.
The food was excellent! The Heritage salad was very tasty. The Entre we ordered was lamb Shanks with Squash Gnocchi; which was perfectly done & had great flavours. Their Signature cocktail; Wildflower Breeze was very good, however for the amount you get it was overpriced,
The service was average. The waitress didn't introduce herself, didn't take the time to light the candle on our table & never asked if I wanted another cocktail or wine just before the meal was about to be served.
I asked the waitress what a particular item was in the salad. She had no idea but said she would find out for me. She never did.
Overall, we thought the food was excellent, but the service good improve to match the level of the food experience.
I think my expectations were a bit too high. The menu was kinda odd imho, it was a bit limited. settled on wagyu rib eye, ($ 62) it was excellent and perfectly med rare. the veg was tasty and nice sauces.
wife had Icelandic cod, ($42 ish) she was pleased with it but the protein portion was a wee bit small i'd estimate 5oz. she was pleased with flavour and veg was good.
the ambiance was a bit off too. maybe just starting to get old, it was clean but getting worn.
all in all food was great and thats what we went for, i don't think the food would disappoint anyone.
maybe they just need to get together and brainstorm some fresh ideas, reprint an upgraded menu and get some tablecloths. They have all the building blocks to be great, just needs a little sizzle.
Wildflower was once my favourite 'special' place. After a hiatus from such pleasures, I looked forward to the selection of small plates, the charming amuse bouche and the delightful treats at the end of a meal. Understandably, change must occur to stay fresh and current (like the food), but I found nothing at Wildflower that I was looking forward to. The oysters were delicious, the server was wonderful, but what separated Wildflower from its many competitors has vanished.
My colleague and I enjoyed an excellent lunch at Wildflower. The Duck Confit was exceptional. The Sticky Toffee dessert was delicious. If this venue had a large room it would be excellent to host educational dinner presentations. Very impressed with the service here.
I would highly recommend this place for a business lunch.
Happy to see a few more gluten free options but disappointed that did not include the pasta options. I had a problem with a hot beverage. I ordered coffee forgetting how very very strong it arrives. My friend took the coffee and I ordered English breakfast tea. Unfortunately that was not what was delivered. It tasted and smelled like bergamo to which I am allergic so I assume it was Earl Gray. But the food as usual was great!
