Wildflower Grill Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed our dining experience here. I have one small quibble about the food. I ordered the duck and it was well prepared however, there were too many elements on the plate. Two or three sauces plus other elements all in the same colour palate. I would describe it as “busy”.
Sadly one of our favourite restaurants has seen better days. Plus it was very expensive $230 for two included tip and wine .
They tried to explain that the menu is changing , but the menu we were given was very limited and not at all exciting.
Only three tables occupied
This was a fabulous place to meet friends. I doubt we will be back anytime soon.
As with our visit there in early August/17, we were served by the same waiter & seated at the same table.
Very professional, friendly & humorous waiter who actually remembered us from our August visit.
Wonderful specials that evening, worth the recommendation, tasty desserts, particularly the sticky toffee pudding, & excellent red wine sangria!!!
It’s too bad we don’t live in Edmonton as we would dine there at least twice a month, particularly if we knew what specials were being offered! My wife & I highly recommend it.
Moderately expensive, but excellent quality of food, fresh ingredients & cooked to perfection.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with friends in a quiet, nicely lit setting. Our meals were fantastic in flavour and nicely portioned and presented. We required some explanation of the very, perhaps overly, creative menu. Our young waiter, while perhaps a bit over the top in his descriptions and manner, was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We look forward to returning for another great meal.
I am unfortunately unable to leave a good review for Wildflower Grill. I have frequented the restaurant many many times, and this is my first negative review. A friend and I booked a reunion lunch yesterday. We arrived right on our reservation time--11:45. We were seated by the friendly hostess, but no one had ventured near our table except the hostess to fill our water glasses by 12:14. We finally beckoned the hostess over and asked if we could order, as we both had to return to work for the afternoon. She put in our order and delivered our food. We were NEVER greeted by our "server", he came at 12:40 when our food was delivered and asked if we wanted pepper. that is it. We were never offered a beverage besides water, never asked if we wanted dessert, had to ask twice for coffee (again from the hostess). I described it as our "server-less" meal. We left a 15% tip but told the hostess, who again, took our payment, that we wanted her to have the tip. no one deserves 15% for offering you pepper and ignoring you during your whole dining experience. I was embarrassed as I recommended the restaurant to my friend. Two men sitting beside us came in 15 minutes after we did, had our servers full attention and received their food 20 minutes before we did. It was on our minds as to why we were ignored, why when we pointed out to the hostess we were being ignored that nothing was done, and why even though the hostess put in our order, that the daily special and a salad took 1/2 hour. It will be a long time before I will be back to the Wildflower -- worst service, or rather non-service I have had in a long long time, and it felt like it was simply because we were women and deemed not important to our server. At any time if he came over and apologized and started "serving us" we would have welcomed it and it could have turned our dining experience around. Sooooooo disappointing.
I've been to Wildflower Grill several times, and it is consistantly good food and great service. I typically go there for business lunches, but I would definitely go there in the evening as well. The menu changes frequently enough to stay interesting, and the atmoshere is comfortable. Prices are reasonable, alos.
Wildflower Grill had long been one of my favourite restaurants, and this meal simply reinforced that. The food was - as per usual -fantastic and the service was phenomenal (our server, Don, was a hoot and even managed to get us to try raw oysters for the first time. You can imagine my sister's horror at being told that the oysters were still alive!!).
Always highly recommended.
The venue was very nice and cozy. Being an avid dinner in Edmonton we found the food at Wildflower to be underwhelming at the price point. The vegetarian option was excellent. The food is good at Wildflower but there is better restaurants in the city with comparable dishes that I believe is better bang for your buck.
It was my husband and my wedding anniversary and we were told the restaurant would provide us with some oysters or a dessert, which was very lovely.
But then my husbands order was wrong. We were understanding, my husband didn’t want to send the food back, but we were told again dessert would be on them.
We ordered and ate our desserts. One dessert was in fact free. It wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t what we were expecting.
Food was very tasty and a bit on the expensive side. The server was very patient with us as we made our way through the menu and tried to decide what to have (not a lot of options, but all of them sounded delicious). Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, tasted good, and was an appropriate portion size.
Overall experience was excellent.
We made reservations for a birthday celebration. The space is cozy and comfortable with low lighting and quiet mood music. The slightly stark apple menu helped us decide to head directly to our mains. The Widlfower never disappoints and this was no exception. Brilliant flavours, excellent presentation and courteous but attentive service culminating in an unforgettable dining experience!
The food was good but the portions were so small that I couldn't believe it. We paid top $ for two pieces of bison ( if I recall) and pedestrian vegetables, and my son's vegan meal was $36 for a small amount of vegetables. Also we were told his dinner was $30 but after it was half eaten, were told it was $36.
Very disappointing and I could never recommend this restaurant to anyone, despite beth fact that the food was good, just terribly overpriced!
I have never written a bad review but just had to so others wouldn't have a similar experience.
Food was great. 3 of us stopped for a bite to eat and had 2 crispy chicken sandwiches and a seafood fettuccine. The chicken was nice and tender with good flavor and the salad and dressing were great. Fries were good too - nicely seasoned. The pasta was light and tasty with big chunks of fish as well as shrimp and mussels. Three thumbs up!
My husband and I just had dinner here on Wednesday night. To start our waiter Donald was AMAZING! He was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. His main priority was to make sure we were 100% satisfied and catered to whatever request we had. He made wonderful recommendations and we loved all of them! Especially the blueberry tea vodka drink! The food had amazing flavours, we really enjoyed the raw oysters topped with pickled onions and the bison tenderloin with a blue cheese relish.
Thanks for making our date night memorable!
Staying at the Matrix Hotel adjacent to the restaurant, didn't know what to expect . Reviews overall were 4 star plus, so took a chance. My wife, myself & a classmate of mine were all impressed by the high quality of food, superb service & nice, quiet atmosphere. There were about six other tables, not terribly busy for a Friday evening in downtown Edmonton. Waiter gave us his honest opinion of our questions, his personal recommendations & we were not disappointed.
We'll be staying at the Matrix Hotel again at the end of October & plan on dining at the Wildflower Grill again, it's well worth it in our opinion!
