Wildfish Seafood Grille - Newport Beach Ratings and Reviews
Incredible food as always...some of the best prepared fish dishes I have ever eaten. On this visit we were a party of four. The booth we were given was much too small (none of us are big people) making it seem very crowded and uncomfortable. That said, I will go back because the food is so good.
Food was so-so. We ordered the seafood tower with lobster, crab, shrimp cocktail and oysters, and they were pretty good. The calamari and the lobster bisque was good. Chilean sea bass was good as expected but the steak tomahawk wasn’t that good. It was not soft but more like chewy, a bit tough and was quite on the cold side when it was served , so food could had been 4 stars but due to the steak wasn’t decent so I’m giving 3 stars instead.
Invited friends to join us who had not yet been to Wildfish and they loved the food, service, selection, everything! They live nearby, so Wildfish may turn out to be a new favorite. We drive over from Seal Beach when we're in So Cal occasionally & look forward dining at Wildfish again soon.
Amazing seafood! Lot's of options, very fresh and cooked to perfection. We started with some oysters which were fresh and delicious with a nice selection to choose from. Most of the entrée options are al a carte, but I ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly and served with yummy roasted veggies. Our server was great, very knowledgeable about the menu and various preparations. Had a nice wine list and cocktail selection. Lively atmosphere on a Saturday night and the bar was hoping. Try the butter cake with carmelized pineapple for dessert....delicious! Will definitely be back!
The staff at Wildfish was notably on point, from start to finish. Our waiter was so amazing, he went above and beyond to make our first dining experience at Wildfish memorable and very enjoyable. Nice menu with great choices. We had the seabass, salad, crab fried rice, brussel spouts , delicious cake for dessert. I will put this wonderful place on my list of new favorite restaurants.
We have been coming here for about four years and this is the only place we found that has consistently good seafood and service. Our waiter Cody was AMAZING!! My girlfriend had difficulty finding a wine she liked and tried about 4 to 5 different ones and Cody was patient and really tried to find the right wine for her. We really appreciate his attentiveness and patience. We will request him every time from now on as well. We can't wait to come back!
We’ve been here many times over the years. The food has always been good. Last night my husband and I did not enjoy our meal. The food is expensive and to pay the bill and not enjoy your meal is very disappointing. He had their signature Sole and I had the Ahi Tuna Tempura for the first time. Very disappointing dish preparation and flavors. Lots of better restaurants in NB that are consistently good every visit...not here!
I've been eating at Wildfish for more than 10 years. This is still the best surf & turf in OC- bar none. Mastro's Ocean Club, Ruth's Chris, Fleming's, Morton's, Capital Grill, Oak Grill, Andrea, and the Ranch just can't beat it (and I enjoy all those places too, except Morton's). From their menu, I recommend the fish (sole & swordfish), steaks (ribeye, NY, filet), raw oysters, calamari, and desserts (pineapple or Godiva cakes). It's the only one of these restaurants mentioned above that has strong offerings for every course- that is particularly handy for larger groups. This most recent visit on Thursday, our waiter, Doug, was a total pro and friendly too. He easily matched the service I've had in several Michelin 3 star restaurants (actually, he was a little better).
I took my boyfriend here for a birthday dinner and it was a great experience. The service here is really outstanding, the only surprisingly "sub-par" service that we received was from the bar tender. Other than that the bar backs were really amazing and our server was very friendly and genuine. We will definitely be back again!
We specifically dined here because they promised the USC game would be on one of the 6 Bar TVs. We drove all the way from Laguna Beach with six friends. In the middle of the game the manager turned off the USC game and turned on the NY Houston baseball game which was already on the 5 other TVs!! He was very rude and we missed most of the game!! Will NEVER eat here again.
Great service loved the music and food the happy hour drinks and appetizers was awesome the service
