Wildfire - Tysons Galleria Ratings and Reviews
Wildfire is always great. I return on business annually and this is the one restaurant that I go to every year. It is like the classic steakhouse, but they serve wonderful fish, pork, lamb you name it. The menu is very broad and has practically anything to fit your eating style. I'm rarely a desert guy, but we usually split one of their fabulous deserts.
It was our first time here, and we will definitely be back! The food was excellent although I wish they had more vegetarian options, but the restaurant accommodated me by taking the bacon and chicken off the chopped salad and it was quite good. My friends ordered the barbecued chicken and prime rib, respectively, and both said their meals were great. The cornbread is to die for!
terrific place for a business lunch. one person in our meeting had never been there. she ordered something that the waiter politely indicated she wouldnt like after they discussed what it was like that day. She chose the special sandwich instead and loved it.
We have not visited Wildfire in a long while. This is due to the existing problem that continues to plague this establishment: they cannot (for some reason) cook the steak to the desired temperature requested. New Year, 2018. Fresh start. We visited Wildfire. I ordered the rare plus bone in rib eye steak. When the steak arrived, the server asked if we could cut into the steak to make sure it is cooked right as she stated that this is on our record (talk about tracking customers) that we have had numerous problems with this issue. It turned out that the steak was overcooked AGAIN. It was cooked to the medium consistency (pink center).
The unpleasant manager came by and instead of apologizing, he suggested moving forward that we order this steak black and blue from now on. He took the steak back and didn't even offered to bring a new set of au gratin potatoes. We had to ask for it. To go to a restaurant that mainly feature steaks on their menu but couldn't cook the steak properly is a tragedy to be honest.
Wildfire has been one of my favorite restaurants in the area for a long time; however, after the horrible service we received yesterday I honestly don’t know if I can go back. Went here for NYE dinner last night and the first sign of neglect came with not being greeted for 12 minutes after sitting in our booth, not even a glass of water. When our server finally came, he was great and energetic. He took our drink order and he came back about 20 minutes later, which is a bit ridiculous after only placing a drink order. Next, we put in our appetizer and dinner order. We received the appetizer in a good amount of time and it was delicious. I love the warm baked goat cheese with marinara sauce. Then we didn't receive the dinner for an hour… a full 60 minutes. This is honestly unacceptable for any type of restaurant, let alone one that prides itself on service. The manager eventually came by and apologized claiming that there were a lot of big parties and the kitchen is backed up. Honestly seemed like he was saying those orders were a priority. Our food was very good, when it finally arrived. The steak was a little room temperature, but cooked just how I asked it to be prepared. The manager told us to get a dessert on him. After being there for 2 hours and 15 minutes, we got a slice of cheesecake to go. The whole dinner experience was so frustrating that I decided to take a look in the main dining room. Barely half the tables were filled so I'm not sure why the kitchen was backed up. I’m not sure how you’re retaining customers after having such bad service on a night you are well aware will be a high traffic night. This simply comes down to lack of preparedness and unfortunately your paying customers like myself bear the brunt of this. I am very disappointed and will be looking for other restaurants to dine at in the future.
Interesting restaurant - I hadn't eaten here before. Access can be from the parking deck, or inside the mall on the third floor. With private elevators from the parking deck, it's very easy to deliver people with walking problems.
The restaurant itself is spacious, and tables are a reasonable distance apart, so there's no noise problem as is sometimes found in more-densely packed restaurants. Food focus is on steaks, chops, and seafood; I had the seafood platter, with cedar-planked salmon, bacon-wrapped scallops, crab cake, and shrimp. Wife had the cedar-planked salmon. Good quantity of food, and I left feeling very comfortable but not overstuffed. Wife took half of her salmon home for another meal! Desert was a very large piece of cheesecake, which we split.
All-in-all, a very good experience, and we'll be back.
Enjoyed a birthday dinner celebration with out of town family. Asked to be moved from the central (largest) dining room to a smaller one so conversation would be easier. It was, a bit, though there were two large groups in the smaller space, so the noise level rose. Food was excellent; service the same. The waiter worked with our guest who has myriad food allergies and restrictions; he was able to have a great meal and a good time. That's not always the case with restaurants, but Wildlife staff was very accommodating. We plan to return!
Ambience was good, though there was a cool draft coming from somewhere which eventually led to me putting on my coat.
Waitress was pleasant, helpful with the menu and attentive.
French onion soup was excellent.
Roasted vegetables were very good.
Mashed potatoes were standard mashed potatoes, good taste, would have preferred if they were warmer though.
Key lime pie was a little small, but the taste was much better than most key lime pies because there wasn't the harsh key lime aftertaste. This was a more pleasant key lime flavor.
Finally, I had the prime rib. The taste was excellent, but I ordered medium and it was served medium-rare to rare. Restaurants always seem to do this. The steak came out luke-warm, which seems to be typical for prime rib; I need to remember to make a point of requesting that the prime rib be served hot.
Overall, very good meal with some small areas the restaurant could improve upon.
Seated us by the serving station and the door (where it was drafty), even though there were plenty of empty tables on the other side of the room. For some reason, maybe for the convenience of the staff, they bunched everyone on the same side of the room.
My steak was just very average. I couldn't taste that anything was done to enhance the flavor of the meat. The side dishes were totally pedestrian as well.
I don't know how this restaurant rated an average of 4 1/2 stars.
Andrii (our server) was excellent. My food was the chicken club and the bottom bun had the appearances of having been prepared well in advance of my date's bison burger, as it had become extremely soggy and lost most structural integrity by the time I was eating it. This was not a server issue, but a food prep issue by the kitchen.
Wildfire is a surprising gem in a shopping mall. They are as good or better then the best steak houses in town. When had asked for one of there quite tables in our reservation. They had it waiting for us.
The restaurant was packed. However Raul our waiter and staff treated us like kings. The filets are out of this world. So were the crab cakes. We will be back.
The service and food are wonderful, I have enjoyed coming for various gatherings. Fortunately, we never had a central table before this time. Warning if your table is beside the central butler counters. We were bumped frequently throughout the evening as servers moved the water glasses in and out as the space was tight; expect regular disruption if you are unlucky to get seated at one of these central tables.
