My husband and I went there to celebrate our Anniversary and it was amazing! Besides an excellent food and ambiance, the staff was really on point. As for our anniversary treat, besides the dessert, they gave us a hand writing card thanking us for choosing their restaurant for our special day. It was a simple gesture, but it really made us feel special and appreciated. Excellent place!
I got the mushroom risotto which was good. The portion was huge and it was very filling. They dont serve the coffee streusel cake anymore which I really wanted so I got the honey cake which was ok, but not amazing. Our server was good. She was very knowledgeble about which steak my boyfriens should get.
As usual Wldfire was fabulous! One of our favorite neighbourhood haunts for date night and great steak & wine.
The experience started with being seated at what I would believe to be the worse seat of the resto, right in front of the kitchen and across from a steel coat rack. This may have been ok if we were a walk in being graciously accomadated but this was a later evening reso. The waiter service was great. The steak was over seasoned with way too much salty seasoning which ruined the meat. Both my friend and I were starving at this point so we simply ate the meal. I would welcome an opportunity for this restaurant to redeem itself as I see good potential for an excellent experience.
Food was average . Service was great!
Was my birthday. A nice touch would have been a complimentary dessert for birthday person but will still come back.
Appitizers were sub-par. Beet salad still had I cleaned beets plated and asked for no onions, onions were still mixed into the salad.
Q-Water served at other restaurants of the same quality don’t charge for refills. This was a rip off.
My steak entree was spot on however my wife’s fettuccine tenderloin with asparagus had 6 pieces of tiny wilted pieces. Extremely sad. The waiter was noticed and challenged us but then spoke to the chef and brought out a side dish of asparagus.
We live in the area. Been there about ten years ago. Won’t be returning.
Our server was good overall however from the person that greeted us to the waiter and other people in restaurant nobody smiled. Zero energy in this restaurant.
Reliable and good food but not great. Happy to return but not at the top of the list.
A group of gals went to Wildfire on a Wednesday night to celebrate one of the group's birthday. I hadn't been there in a while, it seems they have renovated the restaurant, in a good way. Nice ambiance. Tables were spaced nicely apart, there were booths as well. We did not like the first table as it was close to the door and it was cold (a February night) so they moved us with no problem.
Menu was terrific - great selection of pastas, seafood, steaks, lamb, veal, fishes etc. Lots of gluten free options which are noted on the menu with GF. Many vegetarian choices too.
I had a bacon wrapped small filet cooked medium rare, it was perfection. Delicious Caesar salad was served on a half bed of romaine lettuce with the dressing, croutons and bacon piled on top. Grilled calamari came with a spicy tomato sauce, very good too.
"Wine Wednesdays" they offer all wines at half price, so our waiter helped us pick out a nice red.
Service was attentive, not intrusive. A little pricey, but reasonable for a nice evening out.
We will be back.
Love it there!
The ambience was very nice. The service was VERY mediocre. Server was not super attentive, not very warm or friendly, not so interested in making recommendations. Seemed sort of ambivalent about our celebration. We had crab cakes, which were delicious, if a little crunchy. The steak we ordered was cooked perfectly and delicious, but presentation was poor. The veg was indistinguishable from the potatoes. The veg and potatoes were under seasoned and knife cuts - and therefore cooking - was totally inconsistent. The fish dish we ordered was tasty but over cooked. The creme brûlée - a signature dessert - was overcooked and “eggy.” We did appreciate the complimentary glass of sparkling wine for our celebration. Nothing was terrible, but from a restaurant of this caliber I definitely expected better cooking, presentation and service. Definitely won’t rush back or recommend.
Terrible service. Waiter had an attitude. Expect to have all the main courses come at the same time when you spend over $250.00 for dinner. Complimentary dessert was an nice offering but a very sad fruit cup.
Service was very slow. Food arrived very late, and cold. It was clear that the plates were under heat lamps for quite a while. Was more like leftovers than fresh food. Space between courses way too long. We were never asked how the meal was. We were never asked whether we wanted more drinks. Not only did the waiter never make eye contact. we couldn't even hail him as he walked by. He was a nice guy, just had too many tables. Terrible experience.
The food is amazing. Consistent every time we go. Grilled Caesar salad is incredible
Amazing food. Enjoyed every bite of my porterhouse.
Our waiter had the personality of a wet sock and it took over 45 minutes to get our main course after finishing our appetizer. I ordered my steak med-well but it arrived practically raw! Manager covered my meal and paid for desserts for me and my three guests.
Have been raised.
Have nothing good to say.
Don’t say it at all.
Drove down from Barrie for an early Valentine's dinner, absolutely worth the drive. The food was amazing, as was the service. Would definitely recommend the steak, best I've ever had. Will be returning.
Great food, friendly staff. Winterlicious menu was again.
Was our one of our favorite places. They gave me a head of lettuce with soft wilted edges that they put on the fire on purpose covered it in croutons and Ceasar dressing and tried to pass it off as a Ceasar salad. Hipsters aren't always right. And mashed potatoes that had to have been an hr old.
Amazing as usual, service was exceptional.... One of my favourite places to eat in the city
Took out my girlfriend for her Birthday . We could go back unless it was winterlisious
Delicious menu. The steaks were perfect! Loved the dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a group dining experience or a nicedate night b
I have been to this restaurant in the past and was happy to see it listed for Winterlicious. The lunch menu had great variety and the portion size was reasonable. The food was served quickly and the waitress was pleasant. I would go back to this restaurant and would recommend others to try it.
Great decor. Good service. Tasty food. Pretty good value!
I was impressed with this find, and will recommend it to others.
The food was good. Service could have been better.
We tried out their Winterlicious lunch this past weekend and enjoyed it immensely. They had a good variety of starters, main entrees and desserts from which to choose. We will definitely come back to try their dinner menu!
It was my husband's birthday and we had our little daughter with us. She's a climber and when the staff realized the highchair had a broken strap they immediately whisked it away to be fixed. The food was great, the atmosphere excellent but overall the service and little personal touches made the night memorable and made repeat customers our of us. Thank you Wildfire, we look forward to our next visit.
Food was great! Portions were also great even on winterlicious event.
I was very impressed with both the food and the service. I have actually already recommended your restaurant to some people. I am looking forward to return in the future.
Everything was great, loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. I like my steak with just salt and pepper, but the way it was seasoned was just way to strong for me. I also got the caeser salad and it was really odd, it came out as a head of romaine lettuce cut in half with dressing drizzled on top, i ate it with a knife and folk... it was good but just an odd presentation.
over all food was really good, we went for winterlicious so got a good deal.
My family and I met up with some friends at Wildfire. We always go during Winterlicious and Summerlicious. This time we brought our kids along with us, both of which are toddlers. This time we were actually a little disappointed in the food. It was just ok. But the real issue we had was with the speed that the food came out. It was very slow. It took over 30 mins to get apps, another hour for entrees and 30 more mins for dessert. When you have toddlers, you want in and out as quickly as possible and this time it was just way to slow.
Not sure we will be coming back for Summerlicious.
Went there for Winterlicious and normally when we go there and order off the regular menu the steaks are exceptional. For Winterlicious the steaks were just ok. They obviously served a different steak for Winterlicious vs. their regular menu. I hate it when restaurants do this. The whole idea is for Winterlicious or Summerlicious customers to try different restaurants and maybe come back for other occasions. Why not serve off the regular menu vs. serving something inferior. That being said the escargot and the cheese cake were exceptional!!!
Food was good, but unfortunately we found 2 long strands of hair in our starter. Nothing was done by the restaurant to make up for it.
Long wait, despite reservation
Lucky enough to get a spot from its closest 10 space parking lot. Waiting of 10-15 minute was ok, patience acknowledged. Great lighting & atmosphere; but place seated was a much brighter nosier small room with the only table of 2 surrounded by tables (like a tiny island) impressed with appetizer, main course protion was great but taste wise is fair. Servers are friendly (although not like the classiest which is fine) worth giving it a try, but can't be added to My Favourite. 7/10
The service was excellent and the wait staff was extremely attentive. My dinner was very good, and my daughter's dinner was excellent. We took advantage of the Winterlicious Menu, which was quite filling and the prices were quite reasonable for what we received.
My daughter had a Ceaser salad, a Striploin and Chocolate cake. I had a shrimp appetizer, a filet mignon and chocolate cake. The service was not rushed, and we enjoyed our time at the restaurant.
would not recommend at all food was under whelming and none of the dishes were dressed not even a sprig of rosemary. The shrimp were swimming is no flavour sauce while the braised lamb was dry and not a spec of sauce. the steaks too much salt and over priced wine
The worst experience i had so far. The entrance was really slippery because of the snow, although there was a sign but i really think the restaurant should do something about it. My friend fell and hurt her knee and hands at the door. She was telling the guy standing at the reception about it, and the guy didn't even ask whether she is okay or not. All he said was there was a sign saying the floor is slippery. We were not asking him to give us a free meal, we just want to let him know the entrance is really slippery and they should really do something about it. All he repeated was there was a sign. A customer fell down at your door, you didn't even say something like ' i am sorry about it, is there something i can do for u'. I would never ever go back again, although this restaurant used to be one of my favorite restaurants. However, our server was really nice and the food was okay.
