Wildfire - Schaumburg Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was a quick find for good seafood. They were the only restaurant in the area open until 11pm on a Saturday that still had great reviews. The waiter was AMAZING calm and accommodating as my bf can be a handful. He gave us a personalized experience even when he had to say the same things over and over I’m sure. The food was the perfect temperature! I had the lamb chops with au gratin potatoes and my boyfriend had the seafood platter. Portion sizes were great for the money spent. All around really nice atmosphere with delicious food and drinks!
I had not been to Wildfire for an extended period of time. With young kids it is a challenge to find time for date night. I offer that to star it was nice to receive the consistency of experience we have always enjoyed. Excellent food, good service and nice atmosphere are a constant. My wife and I enjoyed great before dinner cocktails and shared the small Ceasar salad, which is more than ample for two. I enjoyed the crab bisque, which was topped with a generous amount of crab and was rich and delicious. My wife opted for the bone-in ribeye and I chose the porterhouse. Both steaks arrive perfectly cooked and we both chose the delicious horseradish crust to top our steaks. We chose sides of creamed spinach and a special offering of roasted Brussels sprouts with hazelnuts that was delicious. We ended our meal with a complimentary lava cake, since it was my wife’s birthday, whic was prepared to perfection. Service was well-paced and unobtrusive and fully met our expectations. We agreed we needed to not be strangers in the future.
I have always loved Wildfire. There were a few disappointments especially for a long time patron. The bread service has changed. That lovely onion loaf is gone and the rolls were not a good replacement, not even close. They changed the raspberry cosmo a while back , as a matter of fact they changed all of their flavored martinis as they have switched their vodka base and this was not an improvement. The triple play medallions have shrunk so much in size they are now shamefully small. The only thing they have not altered and my one thread left is the chopped salad. The only thing that increased in size was our bill. I can get the chopped salad for takeout and am looking for a new "favorite" place.
Our party of 5 was treated very nicely by all staff and seated right away at time of our reservation. Our table was in a nice location away from noise and so was conversation friendly throughout. The service was very attentive and very friendly. Food all around was very good although would have liked more choices for appetizers and items (including entrees) that didn't have mustard based sauces as some are not fans of mustard (which seems trendy I know these days). The main dishes were delicious and cooked just right. The desserts could use some variety in terms of more healthy choices and at least one or two for those who are lactose sensitive (which we had in our party). We hadn't been to a Wildfire in a few years and enjoyed this experience.
Our server, Ronald, definitely didn't was to be there and he let us know it with his attitude. A table in the next section from ours, with a different server, was sat after us and they received their drinks and appetizers before he approached our table for the first time. We probably were seated for 15 minutes. Throughout the meal he came off as very unfriendly. Maybe because it was a slow night and he wanted to go home early. Regardless it would make me think twice before returning to this restaurant.
Food was so good. It was a little on the pricey side but worth it. The crusts on the steak are so always amazing. I forgot our servers name but she was awesome. She helped my boyfriend pick out his meal when he was stuck between too and he really liked her recommendation. She was on top of bringing us drinks and checking in. I got the French onion soup and Parmesan crusted filet mignon. Definetly my favorite place for French onion soup and steak. I would definetly recommend it for a nicer meal out. Not a place I can go to very often as we usually drop $110 per visit so we definetly save it for a special occasion. Looking forward to the next time I can find an excuse to go
Visited Wildfire to celebrate my husbands birthday without our children. My husband loves the ribs, so he never even takes the time to look at the rest of the menu. I chose the special: filet medallions with twice baked potato crust. OH MY!!! Amazing. Tender. Delicious. I enjoyed a Bellini and Margarita. (It was NYE). The restaurant treated to a chocolate lava cake. The experience from the service to the crumbs atop my steak were definitely memorable and noteworthy.
