Wildfire - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
Wildfire is one of our most consistently excellent dining experiences. We went as a family and everyone enjoyed their meal, and we had excellent service. It is one of the best gluten free menus too for a family member who has celiac. The waitress was educated on cross contamination, for example, French fries, too. We always recommend reservations here because it is usually packed but we get right in. When service, food, and ambience are usually what matters most, Wildfire consistently gets them all right.
Took my date recently for our annual holiday dinner. We were seated almost immediately in the bar area. One of the best meals I have had in a while and now I remember why Wildfire has remained in my top 5 for years! Wine choices are great - salad was beautiful and refreshing - steak was tender and juicy. One complaint - we had no room for dessert!
The restaurant was busy. Had reservations and we were seated within 5 min. of reservation time. The hostess informed us at our reservation time they were just clearing our table, nice touch. We were seated and our waiter Tony came promptly and asked us for our drink orders.
Water and bread arrived while he was gone. Drinks came and he went over the nightly specials and some other menu options. Asked us if we needed a few minutes and we did, he said no rush he would be back. The meal was great, for being so busy they did not rush our meal. Great food and great service. hats off to a nice restaurant and pleasant experience
We had 3 children for a total of 8 people and had to wait until 6:55 to get seated. The table they placed us at was so small that we kept having them remove items just to have enough room for our plates. A little frustrating when you consider the prices. Food was good, service was good and the restaurant is a bit loud.
I know it’s the holidays but I was a bit frustrated with our wait time and our seating arrangements.
Reserving a table for a business holiday luncheon during the holidays when other groups are dining out and people are shopping is always a difficult endeavor. However, our table and the wait staff were ready for us. Once seated we were able to settle in and enjoy our dining experience. Our server was very friendly, energetic, offered great advice and made our time at Wildfire a good dining choice!
The food was okay!! waiter did not offer birthday cake or even sing birthday when I was clearly there for my birthday!!! My best friend had to mention to our waiter that it was a birthday and still had to pay for my birthday cake!!!! On my birthday I thought that was horrible.
My steak came out without the crust I ordered. Overall the wait for the second correct meal was short and our sides were great. However the waitress did not acknowledge the mistake or ask about the meal once it arrived. The food runners on the other hand did and seemed more concerned about my satisfaction than our waitress.
Overall the restaurant was nice. For lunch I found it a bit crowded and the noise level was high so it made it difficult to have a conversation. The waitress was very accommodating and efficient. I thoroughly enjoyed having her as our waitress. She explained a variety of items etc. and was friendly and worked to make sure that we were happy.
Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish! Made rez on Nov. 14th for Dec. 10th, specified it was for my parent's 51st Anniversary (which was NEVER acknowledged), and confirmed via phone the day of. We arrived 30 minutes before our 6pm reservation. At 6pm we were given a pager because our table wasn't set. After a considerable wait, our party of 7 was seated right by the kitchen. We had to push the issue with hosting manager to move elsewhere. After finally placing dinner order, we waited another 40 minutes to be served cold entrees of deplorable quality. Our bacon wrapped filets were tough and tasted old. The seafood combo platter didn't arrive until the rest of the party had finished our meals AND it was cold. The server was MIA and didn't try to accommodate, especially with 6 barely touched entrees on the table. We had to ask for the restaurant manager to have 2 fresh entrees cooked to carry out (as it was after 8pm), receive dessert, and 'to go' containers which were thrown on table with lids. NEVER AGAIN!!!
We went for my sons birthday which was noted in reservation, no mention of it by our server or when we checked in. Server was good, food took a long time to get and was just ok. Nothing sets Wildfire apart from other sit down restaurants except higher prices. This place used to be special, it has lost it!
My first time here and it was everything. I was a little late for my reservations but it was not a problem. The customer service was excellent Ave the food was even better. It was my birthday dinner and they made it very special like I wanted I brought a cake and they held it, cut it and packed it up. I would recommend this place to everyone it was great!!!
Way too loud. We were seated at a round table for 8 people and could not hear the conversation across the table. We were also seated next to the kitchen which made us uncomfortably warm. This occasion was a bi-monthly get together among close friends. Great fun with friends, but unfortunately we will not be going back to Wildfire.
I was a little disappointed in the service I received during my most recent visit to Wildfire-Oakbrook. There was a large party seating right in front of us that she was also tending to. I do understand that she had other tables to take of obviously, however, we left pretty much ignored during the entire meal. I come to Wildfire for the great service and food, however, this experience was less than adequate in the service department.
We have been eating at Wildfire for many years. The food has never disappointed us. We were Christmas shopping. Using the Lettuce Entertain You app, I made reservations for a late lunch time. When we arrived our table was ready. We weren't rushed and it was a nice break from the cold and crunch of people.
In the past when I have patronized Wildfire everything has been spot on. However, this visit was the total opposite. I asked the waitress for straws. Waited about 15 minutes and had to ask again. It appears that she was totally consumed with a large group adjacent from us. When our food was served, my food was fine. However, my fiancé's steak was overcooked and her baked potato was hard. Her meal was replaced, by that time I was done with my meal and we got it to go. Never had an issue with Wildfire, but this visit sucked!
Being seated quite near the open kitchen makes for a very noisy component when coupled with the conversational levels of the lunch crowd. The stacking of the heavy-duty plates is the noisy operation and a bit of a distraction. I would request an alternate seating location in the future.
We have been going to Wildfire for many years. The food is consistent, the service is great & of course it’s close to great shopping! There was one thing on the menu that they changed & that is the crab cakes. I much prefer the old receipe & wish they would bring those back.
